Metahumans are free but they are to be used with Unreal Engine for final rendering, you can take them out to tweak and customize but the final product needs to be rendered inside Unreal :)

Hey thanks for the tutorial. Even though my MetaHuman compiles after downloading, I’m getting an error that the “skeletal mesh” variable has been deprecated. Is there a fix for this? Can I ignore it, or will doing so cause problems down the line when I get to the animation phase?

One thing I find odd is they make you do such a small FoV in the MH Identity which kind of gives a fishbowl type view of the mesh, so it makes comparing the two images kind of strange. It also seems like that just adds an overall girth to the face and head too, so maybe I'll play around with trying the same mesh but one with the 20 FoV and one with 90 and see if there are any significant differences. Now I just need to rope my son in to be my guinea pig. ;) Now if they could just fix the animation so the heads and necks actually work, that'd be great...

My scan came out bumpy as heck. Ridged triangular bumps, which seem to have even baked this into the texture. Even if I smooth the surface, the odd tri face shadows still remain. I took 35 photos--the overall scan seemed very clean, other than these bumps. I exported in high (one below Raw). Do ya'll know your way around this? Thanks in advance and thanks for the video walkthrough. EDIT: after meshing and exporting into MHC, it looked fine. The artifacts from before were irrelevant.

Great Post bro! For some reason when I import my fbx file, the material and UV map don't come with it. The material is jut blank and the UV doesn't even import. I followed you step by step- any idea of what could be wrong?

i dont think this works anymore the end where you upload to metahuman backend is broken. been trying for 2 days and it will not go through. firewall off anitvirus off quixel bridge is logged in and open. You can download a charachter from them but you cant upload your face

There is one file format that is free, is not an fbx so you need to take that into blender as I showed
