  • Continental recently brought out a new line up to there already great tyre range and with already gaining great success on the world cup scene it would be rude not to try them out for myself.

    I am running dual endurance compound Arogotals and was blown away by the off-piste performance. Also just getting around. Rolls fast. Coming from a DD shorty DHR2 combo. Great points in this edit.

    Thats a great shot at 9:45. I've been running enduro soft on front down to 15 psi on front but I wrecked a rim with enduro soft at 17 psi in rear. No inserts. I did not find much advantage at 17 psi rear from 19 psi rear so I just went back to 19 rear on enduro casings. I have not found the lower limit of pressure on the DH casings, but I'm scared to go under 14 on the DH casings, because I'm a wimp. 😅 Nice video. 👍

    • @PedalhoundsTV
      @PedalhoundsTV  Год назад +3

      Hi mate
      Yes I have used it at trail centers and bike parks and I was very surprised how well it actually grips on hard pack.
      I was at Dyfi Bike Park the other week with no worries about pushing it into harder packed corners or berms, the following day at One Planet Adventure llandegla, and again no problems. I think the Kryptotal would grip a bit better in those types of places but would definitely clog up more in off-piste, I also think the Kryptotal rear would be a better front tyre than the actual front in the winter because it would clear better and give better corner bite, something I'm going to try over the next week or two.

      I'm actually doing a video now on tyres and set up for Ebikes, it should be out in a week or so. The enduro tyres are perfectly good for ebikes in my opinion although the dh casings give a little more security, I don't think the trail version (insert or not) would be great, too flexi , pressures would have to be really high and the grip isn't the best in wet conditions.

    I got the argotal soft enduro casing and the xynotal with the same specs and they feel just like a double down to me, Maxxis has the supertacky and yes its much softer, but it feels soft enough for most conditions, I also purchased a WTB vigilante in the tough casing and it feels weaker and flimsier, also the compund although "high grip" feels harder than the contis, so overall, they are very high quality tires, Not better than maxxis by any means but just as good imo, further testing will be needed. Great video.

      Thanks Daniel, I still haven't received the delivery of the soft Enduro Argotol yet, due in next week to us. I like the fact that the compound feels a little firmer because it has less squirm in hard corners and bites harder in softer terrain.

    • @PedalhoundsTV
      @PedalhoundsTV  Год назад

      To be honest I don't think it would matter a whole lot, I haven't tried on these but it works great with the likes of Maxxis DHR 2 etc, in fact a lot of DH racers use rear tyres on the front because they clear mud better with the wider spacing, it can't hurt to give it a go, if you don't like it then you will end up with a good spare rear tyre.

      I tried the Xynotal just recently on the rear (wet conditions) and although it didn't feel too bad the braking wasn't great at all but in the dry (it's primary use) it would be a great tyre in the enduro case/soft compound.
      Personal I'm going to stick with the Kryptotal R enduro/soft, it just works for everything, yes it's a little draggy but nothing you can't live with and the wear rate has been fantastic.
