    I actually appreciate the simple amp approach. Sometimes you just need a fire-breather that moves some air.

      Get a Marshall VS100. I noticed fluff was using a tube screamer with the mt100.
      To me, these modern amps have too much fuzziness in their gain circuits. Dial back the gain and you’re left with a need for a tube screamer. 🤷🏻‍♂️
      Just my thoughts.

    • @BigTyronie
      @BigTyronie Год назад

      Its really not a simple amp. Its three independent amp circuits that only share a pair of 12ax7 in the preamp. But i agree a simple setup is nice sometime. Like the old days where you roll guitar volume back to clean up, full volume for rhythm, and perhaps a tube screamer and eq for leads.

    • @Walkerbjj

    • @th3m1ke
      @th3m1ke Год назад +1

      @@Walkerbjj I think thats the wrong mentality to have. Yes cheap low quality products are mostly made over seas, but that does not mean quality, well designed items with good components cant be made there either. It all depends on the company and passion of the workers. I think PRS' new SE's are the perfect example of that as they, for me at least, hold up against my core Maryland made models and made by a factory of proud employees. I mean to my ears I prefer this to a US made Dual Rectifier tone wise.

    • @Walkerbjj
      @Walkerbjj Год назад +1

      @@th3m1ke I agree with you. I meant that in terms of costs to produce here in the states vs. overseas. You couldn’t make that mt1000 here for anywhere close to that price. I lived in Brazil for 5 years and had some of the best custom built guitars made for me I’ve ever played for a FRACTION of the cost to have one built here in the United States.

    • @Walkerbjj
      @Walkerbjj Год назад +2

      @@th3m1ke Also, PRS has their hands on those SE models before they go out to buyers. Strandberg guitars are made overseas and they are very high quality. Some overseas guitars made in the same country are trash. So yes it depends heavily on the company and their quality control. The mt15 sounds good and I’m sure the 100 will as well. @kevindie exactly. Option paralysis.... but its more than that. I explained it already on a different comment on a different video, but with smaller local venues and amatuer bands floor unit/rack modelers that go direct really lack the stage volume / ability to cut through a live mix with acoustic drums and bass amplifiers, etc. Theres no stage volume. But these guys always have in ears and they get tremendously duped into thinking theyre loud and clear in the mix when in actuality the only people that can hear them is themselves and the sound guy at the back of the venue meanwhile up by the stage its silent by the guitar and its getting blasted out by acoustic drums. Ive seen it time and time again. The best alternative ive seen to this is the Katana as its form factor is still a regular amp.

I saw them at an amphitheater, close to middle, about 1/4 away back, and the mix sounded PERFECT, but it was pretty quiet and there was absolutely no UMPH. It sounded like I was listening to the concert through a mid-range Bluetooth speaker. That concert is what made me start rethinking the direction guitar amplification is going._*

      I think the problem there is you start adding these things and it adds to the cost so trying to keep out anything unless it's absolutely necessary makes sense and then if you want to you can just buy your own separate attenuator. I totally understand where you're coming from though I got it this thing is probably loud as anything

    The price is really nice.....too bad you can't knock the wattage down to at least 50 watts.....not many can really use 100 watts...and with all tube amps, it's best to open up the volume to get the power tubes involved in the sound....in other words, LOUD!!!!

      You can fix the hum in the effects loop of the MT-15 by adding shielded cabling. Takes 10 mins to do.

    • @vincelupone
      @vincelupone Год назад +2

      @@StompboxMods I had sent mine back to PRS as a warranty repair. They sent it back all fixed up and it still had the same problem. It didn’t matter if I just connected a patch cable between the send and return or if I put a full rack system in it’s place, it hummed, and it was a common problem for many people with the MT15. Ultimately a great sounding amp, but one with a weird flaw.

      I had the same issue. The store where I bought mine exchanged it 3x and all of them had this issue. I was never able to have a 100% clean tone with a delay/reverb on the effects loop on the Clean channel. I gave up and got a Hughes & Kettner TubeMeister Deluxe 40. I hope they have worked on this on the MT100. I know that there are methods to fix this here and there but I’m sorry, any new product shouldn’t have this type of issue.

    Awesome amp as well as the MT15 was but.........I see many issues with a ground hum in the MT15 amps and if Im gonna buy a 100 watt $2-3K head, thats not a risk Im willing to take.

    • @vanespedals1023
      @vanespedals1023 Год назад

      I think that was mostly related to the small box it is designed in and thus you get some hum because of poor design. This new 100 watt has seems to be wider and larger so I hope they designed it better and there is no hum.
      I would be surprised if it had the same flaws as it is a completely new design in terms of layout (not sound wise)

    I wanted to be blown away by this amp. I was looking forward to it since I got the MT15. It’s pretty underwhelming from what I’ve seen so far. The lead channel is cool but the clean and overdrive channel sound generic. I’ll have to play one in person but I might pass on this one. The price is great but the absence of any modern tech is a bit of a zonk. Guess you can’t ask for much more than this at $1900!
