Interesting. I've known things to crack when water in them turned to ice - flower tubs left outside and the like. But like the glass, they only crack - they never seem to explode or have bits fall off. They stay in one piece till you touch them.
Hi! Im currently an undergraduate student in Korea. I am currently looking for a 'water freezing' time lapse video to show it to my marketing students, and this video is simply IMPRESSIVE! If permission allowed, is it alright if I could use this video as a reference in my 'curriculum introduction' video? Thanks!
@johnathonchoate5186 You mention it is for a time lapse project. How long did it actually take to freeze this glass of water? What was the temperature outside during the process? Thank you!
Good day! My name is Nicole Fernandez, a Grade 10 student from the Philippines. I'm currently working on a research project and I'm in need of science videos like this. If it's okay, I would like to ask for permission to use your video. I give my complete assurance that I will credit your channel or whatever or whoever you say should be credited. May I?
Isn't this property of water very strange? Why water and a few substances (antimony, bismuth) but especially water when there are so many substances? I think it can't be a coincidence. Just because of this feature, living things live. And in my opinion, this is proof of order in the universe.
@@siphesihlelanga5783 My bad, most liquids contract, but I think you should also consider doing some research because there are other elements that expand when frozen, such as gallium, silicon, bismuth, antimony and germanium.
That don't even make sense. Start the recording with a cracked glass cup with ice and watch the ice melt and the cup magically fix itself? You didn't watch close enough I guess lol
FINALLY WE GET A *REAL* WATER TURNING INTO ICE INSTEAD OF ICE TO WATER IN REWINDING!!!!
But, if its rewinded, then it's still Water to ice

Ice expands when it freezes?
@@Yichh I think he's referring to the adhesion of the glass to the ice.
How long is the actual video?
@Dloop Floop Illuminati Confirmed
@Dloop Floop HE SAID THE ACTUAL VIDEO!
This happened to me yesterday, I accidentally left some soda outside and it was ice after five minutes

This is amazing
Freeze on top first? Amd inside slowly! Wow
The only reason I'm watching this is cause I woke up this morning to find my whole fountain in the Driveway frozen solid lol. 😂😂😂
Thanks but not sure about the music
This is so cool (....literally. Ok I’ll go home now)
Too cool to be true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I tought the ice was gonna expand in the glass like it does in a plastic bottle!
It does. Look at the surface.
I'd like to use this footage for a short film. Any chance of getting the original video file in 4k?

What are those striations as the ice is formed? Is it because the water was shaking within the glass?
Por que o gelo fica branco, que droga.
Water is the only substance that increase in volume with decreasing temperature
I may be wrong about this but I think all substances expand when they go from a liquid to a solid

dont try this on things like glass if u love it, the ice will expand when freezing enough to break rock.
I tried this before and I I broke it twice and then I made it into an ice sculpture
