Very excited to watch your journey back up to Alaska in this new RV. I am curious as I watch the video how you are able to fit everyone and all your gear into this RV for such a long trip without a lot of Cargo Capacity. When we had our Class C we had close to 2800 pounds, and when we traveled with our two daughters, we were always very close, if not over our GVWR, which is the primary reason we went to a Class A with over 4600 pounds of CCC and don't have to worry about safely loading our RV and Towing the Motorcycle.. I know that Grand Design said they were targeting 2000 pounds of CCC. I think that as Grand Design Ambassadors, it would be really beneficial to all of us if you were to post up what your are taking to Alaska, and then Put it on the CAT Scale and post the ticket. Thanks guys and safe travels.

That station at the WTC with the stunning architecture was designed by Spanish architect/engineer Santiago Calatravo. His work is very distinctive and once you know his style it's pretty easy to identify his work at a glance. As you were filming your walk thru the station, I thought to myself, gotta be Calatravo, so I looked it up and yup! Next time you are near Milwaukee, WI, (on your way to Alaska?) check out the Milwaukee Art Museum, it's another stunning example of his work. Besides museums and rail stations, he's also well known for his bridge designs.

9/11 teaching 8th graders in Maine. Small school surrounded by woods and no cellphone service. Kids at gym special. Came back after gym upset and scared. They heard the news through high schoolers. We kept them working and kept reassuring them all day that they were safe.
Years later, I went with some teachers to New York to see the memorial.

I remember 9/11 stationed Ft. Bragg, NC, 35th Sig Bn, ABN! Jumped into Bahrain, set up communications for the 82nd ABN, 75th rangers, and 3/5 Special Forces and Delta Force. Iraq didn’t have a prayer.

I was a Federal worker, working nights, so I was home at the time of the 9/11 tragedy. That evening the office was closed because they didn't know if it was going to be attacked. Truly scary times. My daughter was in 4th grade and one of the boys in her class lost his father in the building collapse. The bridges were closed for several days and we couldn't leave our home on the island if we wanted to. A month after the tragedy they shined double blue lights into the sky as a memorial. We drove past to see them when driving from our home on Long Island to go upstate NY to visit my mom.

Happy belated birthday Cory. Yes the Mercedes is a very smooth riding chassis. The Sprinter is my daily driver for work. The only downside to the chassis is that the diesel engines have an EGR valve that gets dirty often and once it does the smooth drivetrain is not so smooth after. You will think that there is something wrong with the transmission when in fact it is the EGR valve that is dirty causing rpm issues and the computer will shift at odd times and it gets annoying. Other than that it is a stellar vehicle. Can't wait to see more of the Lineage Series and looking forward to when you get back to Elkhart. Cory kind of dropped a hint by talking about your current RV.

On 9/11 I was in Phoenix AZ preparing for my first solo (in flight school) which was scheduled for early that morning when I got a call from my sister back in NY. A native New Yorker, I was devasted by what was happening and not being able to get back to my family to make sure everyone was ok was torture. To this day, I find it very difficult to visit that site when I am back east. So many lives tragically lost that day.

Have fun. It’s great to be able to access everything while on the road. Just a few bits of advice - walking around is actually not supposed to be done while driving. You still get bounced around while driving. But when you stop you don’t need to get out to do anything which is great. Also to keep noise down put padding between dishes etc. it will be so great for a trip to AK. Enjoy. 😊

I , as every UNION IRONWORKER in our field would like to have been on that job. Had to leave it to the great ironworkers in New York and the surrounding areas. It belonged to them.
I do think there were a few Local 387 ironworkers out of Atlanta that did get there.
Just saw more of the video. I remember being on the job site putting up steel for a new mall ( Discovery Mills Mall ) when I got the word of 9/11. At the start of the day I was running a crew on finishing up what HAD TO BE DONE BY END OF DAY . Ended up 1 man short for the day, I filled in as always. More work got added, 2/3 rd's thru the day we got the word. Told by office we could leave to be with our family's. 3 of use stayed to finish the job in 12 hours before we went home to family. That day is stuck in my brain forever.
Could walk to and point the the exact spot I was when I got the word !!!!!!!

Change is always exciting. Ya'll have been to Alaska once. I do know that alot of people who travel to Alaska in their personal rigs say they will never go back but in a rental. Smaller there is better finding free areas to camp heading there also.
But, with the bumpy roads there and back I don't think it will be as nice as it it seems moving around inside freely but will be an adventure. Cory, I don't think you will survive without a truck and not having all your gear with you in the future.
I hope it was a exciting Adventure for your family this time around again. Wife and I miss😂 having our 3 girls with us traveling in our bumper pull these last few years.

As you said, we remember where we were on 9/11/2001. We were vacationing on the OBX, NC in a vacation home ocean front. We left our unit just before the attack occurred. We went to the Elizabethan Gardens on Roanoke Island that morning. We noticed a lot of workers had radios and were listening to the same broadcast. I told my husband something was going on; he brushed it off. We then went to the Aquarium; no one said a word to the quests about what was going on. As we traveled back to the Outer Banks, we noticed all the flags were at half-staff; I again told my husband something is going on. We got back to the Outer Banks just after 12 noon. We did not know what was going on until we walked into an oceanfront restaurant at Nags Head. They had a TV on and we heard the broadcasting and found out what had occurred. We never did get lunch; we could not pull ourselves away from the TV for several hours.
There actually were planes flying after the 9/11 occurrence; in fact there were planes flying at regular intervals. Since we were oceanfront; we got see our military patrolling our coastline. Our fighter jets were in the air patrolling our coastline at regular intervals. For all the uncertainty, and the feeling we were under attack for what had just occurred in New York; every time those jets flew past our rental unit, it gave us a sense of security; our military was on duty and protecting America.

It may be tempting for making meals, etc., while moving, but it’s really not safe to do. We have a class A and I do not get up while it’s moving. We always pull over if we need to use bathroom or to eat. Think of turbulence in an airplane. 😊😳 Stay safe.

@@karenjohnson4778 We have not. On a rare occasion, we have rented a car. We have e-bikes for getting around locally if needed, and don’t stay in one place too long. (Usually a week at a time.) So we tend to restock, etc, as we go between places. That being said, we are entering longer term RVing (aka retirement) and have discussed shorter drive days (like no more than five hours) and just bringing another vehicle. We’ve not ever NEEDED another vehicle, but long term it might be convenient.

Great video as always! We have really enjoyed watching your family (ever since your first trip to Alaska). We have been keeping a watch out for a new Lineage since we arrived in Alaska at the beginning of July. Hopefully we will run into you somewhere! We're near Soldotna currently...hint hint...😂

@@FindingOurSomeday We just now saw your response. How ironic! It was wonderful to meet you both. Your were so gracious to take the time for two strangers who interrupted your day. Thank you! We wish you safe travels while you explore God's beautiful creation!

Lost a friend working as a camera man. Thought wed get married one day. Was there when allowed general public before they tore 3rd or 5th tower down. Long before memorial was built. The church was as inspiring. It was still intact exactly how pile workers were working. Never forget and ppl still continue die this day from what they breathed in.

I feel like the girls. Sad to see you guys pull away from the old rv but excited for your new adventures. It's home to you guys so it's like selling a house and moving out. But my big question is how will Corey be without his truck? Are you guys going to tow a vehicle?

On 9/11 I was working my first school year in CT and my students parents worked in the city and we didn’t know if they would make it home. We were on precautions as not sure if it would impact CT. My dad was supposed to take a job in the trade centers but he didn’t take it.

I love your kids got to see so much in life for so many years. Question, how did they go to school ? I went to public school and had to go for 6 hours every day, 5 days a week. I know there are options now, but how do you do this on the road ?
