We got pulled over in the truck, right after setting up at a campground. We were driving to a park nearby to take the dogs for a walk and ran a stop sign on a 55 mph back road. We were distracted sightseeing stuff on the side of the road and totally didn't expect a stop sign, and there was a cop sitting right there. We saw the stop sign and the cop at the same second about 30 feet before the stop sign. As soon as we went through it we pulled over before the cop even got behind us. He was super nice and totally understood. Luckily we got off with just a warning. Haven't had a ticket in more than 15 years.
Once I buy my RV and rig, I have several "missions": 1) see all 50 states 2) visit all US National Parks 3) attend a baseball game in all MLB stadiums 4) find a place to finally build my own home. As an architect who has been building homes for others my entire adult life/career (and loving it), it's time to finally build one for myself. I just turned 70 in early May of this year and while my general health is very good to excellent, I am experiencing age-related issues, so I know the time I have left to adventure and explore is likely limited. And while I think I may have already found where I want to buy land and build my home, I want to spend a couple of years on the road and traveling (perhaps including overseas), before I park the RV on my land and live in it while my home is being built. The first structure I'll build will be a shelter for my RV and truck!
Cory, we met you and Jess at Cook RV Park, in Springfield we really appreciated your genuine friendly conversation that evening. After we left Springfield our trip took us through Almosa CO. and as I was driving into town the speed limit changed from 65 to 45 and then to 35. A State Policeman was traveling in the opposite direction and has he was passing us he turned his lights on and made a uturn, This officer was very polite and just let me off with a verbal warning so I found out that day they can clock you even when they are traveling opposite your direction. Lesson learned that thankfully did not cost me any money. FYI: We are heading to Maine and Nova Scotia in July!
@@FindingOurSomedayFYI… The fallen police officers memorial group had/have a great bumper sticker that show you slow down for them! Got me out of a few tickets.., Also have Navy plates help💁🏻♀️
I love watching your videos. I was moved by the sacrifice you made for us. You and Jess both sacrificed. You both do so much for everyone else. God Bless all of you. You both have raised two wonderful beautiful daughters. They will be leaders, not followers. Please keep up the great videos. PS: Glad you still like photography, you're great at it.
I watch your channel all the time! Love your journey. I can’t believe you went to Evangel! I graduated (1978) with my wife from Central Bible College that was in Springfield, Mo. It closed and merged with Evangel College as a school of Bible. Small world. My God bless your journey and grant you safety and peace with your family. Peter and Ava Zrinzo (Rving since 1984.
Years ago I got a ticket driving through a small town. Since then, I'm very alert to speed limit signs especially going through towns. My husband, on the other hand, doesn't see them as well. So now I call out to him when I see a speed limit change. It's also harder to see speed limit signs from the driver's side. When you're driving it is hard to see because you are focused on the road.
One of your best vlogs!!!!😂😂...memories EH ??.wonderful, thanks for sharing.. wow, the Bass SHOP, AWESOME, SO IMPRESSIVE AND A MUST SEE.. SO HAPPY YOU GUYS GOT BACK TOGETHER..LOOK AT THE FINE RESULTS!!!!❤❤😂😂😂
Special video to me. My wife and I also went to college in Springfield, but 54 years ago and BBC instead of Evangel. We met there and married. Great memories. Thanks for sharing.
My husband and I met at Evangel. Got married and lived in a trailer behind the campus for a year. Love your videos. Springfield will always have a special place in our hearts. The Bass Pro is awesome there. You all also went through the Bobby Hopper Tunnel outside of Fayetteville. 😊 Oh and yes Andy’s is the bomb!
No RV, but my Mom and I are working on all 50 states and all 50 state capitals. Also, the National Parks and lighthouses. We are also going to places where my parents lived. Mom and I were just in NYC (my first time there) at the end of April and saw places where my parents both spent time at. They met in NJ in 1970, but we couldn’t get there as we didn’t rent a car. My Dad passed away in 2000, but he loved photography, so we had a few photos he took back in 1969-70 and I love photography and found those same places and took updated photos. One photo he took was the construction of the Twin Towers and I found the exact spot he took it from and took a current photo with One World. The other photo we were tracking was where he worked in the Financial District, found it and it is a salad bar restaurant now. It’s fun to hear old stories about people and places. I didn’t know much about my Dad’s time in NYC (knew more about my Mom’s time there), but had a few photos and then hearing stories from my Mom, especially while I researched for the trip and while we were there. Now, I have a better sense of what my Dad was like in the early 1970s while they were dating and then got married. ❤
isn't it so fun to go back and see what made us who we are ... I so can't hardly wait til my hubby can leave work some can go full time to see this beautiful USA
Yes, I got a ticket exiting a small town and picking up speed 25 yards from the increased speed limit sign. In our RV, the passenger helps alert the driver to speed signs and turns. True co-pilot and navigator!
Corey and Jessie, what a wonderful video! You and your girls are lovely! I so enjoyed this down to earth video with the whole family. Enjoy the the path your on, and please enjoy the beauty and wonder that the great I Am has placed for you to find! Much love is being sent to you all!
Many good memories fishing with my Uncle Jim in Southwest Missouri. He and my aunt were small town newspaper publishers. It is a part of the world this 5th generation Texan would move to in a hot minute!
I love this for you guys! Our mission is to explore and not overplan! We research, choose a location and route, but unless we have to be somewhere, we wait to decide what to do and where to stay-we listen to the locals! It has made for some great trips. And since we always have our home with us, it’s less scary than when we did it with just our Jeep!
Completely agree with you about getting out and exploring. We usually go to Eagle Nest NM between Taos and Cimarron NM. This year, we're headed to Munising MI in the UP and will meet my brother there to explore interesting places. Then on to The Keweenaw Peninsula for a few days for sightseeing and Pasties (need to get those traveling up to Yooper Country!) We love to travel to different places and encourage young people to travel and explore while still young, especially if the have children over 6 years of age. Seeing things through children's eyes give you a new way of looking at the world around you! We've traveled so many places over the past 46 years as a couple. We've had the good fortune to go to places rarely visited by others as part of work assignments as a Geologist. You get so many great memories. Travel now while you are able before old age and health issues set in, and you can't travel anymore. I don't want to wind up sitting in a nursing home somewhere saying, "Dang! We should have traveled there when we had the chance!!!" Now is the time, not later! Those rapid speed reduction setups are speed traps for the unwary or unsuspecting. They are in many of the small towns in Nevada, usually on a long downgrade to catch semi-tractor-trailer rigs and folks pulling long trailers such as yourselves. I got nailed going downhill into Taos, NM years ago, going 1 mph over the posted limit by a young State Trooper trying to make a name for himself. It was a $15 fine, so I just paid it. Did y'all go visit the new Buc-ee's on the east side of Springfield? Safe travels, and God bless you and your family!
My daughter went to Evangel and was a walk on starter as a freshman on the women’s basketball team in 1989. I really enjoy your travels and adventures!!
My " mission " for the last four years has been to make a trip to Maine from my home base in Ohio. I will be leaving in about a week. It has been on my list since before my wife passed 4 years ago but we never could go due to her health. Now I have friends who are helping me make it happen. Can't wait to see that beautiful area in person. Thank you for helping me find places to visit there and along the way.
We are leaving our mission on Saturday. The family is heading west for a National Park blitz! Wish us luck, this is the first extend outing we have done!... 4 weeks in the camper with a mix of Walmarts, boondocking, and RV parks!
You guys are amazing. You are the reason we started RV travel. I have watched every video you’ve made. I met you guys a few years ago at the Tampa RV show. We talked about how we were gonna start traveling because we saw the country thru you and your videos. Well, we started and plan on full time in a year when I retire at 50. We have seen a lot of Florida, camped in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and bought Property in Tennessee that we now have 2 full hook up RV spots. We have a summer trip coming up to Upstate N.Y. In July with stops in D.C. on the way up and Gettysburg on the way back. (Prior military)🤣 Thank you for letting us see all these all these amazing places thru you until we can see them for ourselves. Take care, safe travels.
If we can get ourselves on the road, our mission will be to RV Alaska. In the meantime it’s our mission to see as much as possible. This summer we’re heading to Michigan for 2 weeks and we’re really excited about it! Your channel is a big inspiration for us. We love watching your journey to see all this country has to offer.
You are so right in saying that people are the destination. A close friend of mine from Germany, who I haven’t seen in person since Covid, was coming to the US. His girlfriend wanted to see her friend in Cleveland, Ohio. Because I have my truck and trailer, and am retired, I could travel to Cleveland and see them last week. Priceless. ❤️. I’m from Missouri. Isn’t that Bass Pro and aquarium awesome!
Jess, I went to Evangel University in 68-69 and our son graduated there in 1997. So it was really fun to see that you were there also. Of course in the sixties it didn't look anything like it does now but it was a great time in my life. I was in Spence.
This episode was great. You got to re-bond & this time with your kids. It's all good for the family. Sorry about the ticket & that's where they always get you. Water off a duck's back. See you next week.
Sorry You got pulled over. This was A Cool video that Bass Pro Shop was Awesome. God Bless You and Your Family. Love Seeing Your Family hanging out together.
Hey!! That's the Andys over on East Sunshine!! We used to live about 10 minutes from there! We've spent many great Family Night getting Andys! We loved our time in Springfield and are looking forward to going back someday. Loved the video!
Traveling northbound Interstate 5 in southern Washington state from Vancouver, the highway has three lanes going up some hills, and the left lane is clearly marked No Trucks/Trailers. All the semi-trucks were hanging out in the middle and right lane, slowing everyone down, so I jumped into the left lane while towing our trailer just to get around a semi-truck, and of course, a trooper pulled us over. I owned up to my mistake, knew I shouldn't have been there, was just trying to get around the semi-trucks. He let us off with a warning. Lesson learned. I haven't had a ticket in about 20 years. My wife would never let me live that down if I got another one! We all need a reality check from time to time!
We have the speed limit change alert turned on in our Garmin RV895. It gives an audible ding when the speed limit is about to change and so fat it seems to give me plenty of warning in advance of the changeover, most times its a mile or so in advance . I find the speed limit that displays in the hud of our GMC Denalli not accurate at all.
Last summer’s mission was to make our son’s request a reality: he wanted to swim in all of the Great Lakes-it was two different trips but we did it & loved it:-). This year’s mission is Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace (KY), boyhood home (IN), and adulthood (IL). First two trips ✅ and Springfield, IL to come later this summer:-).
Jess, your custard shop reminded me of our college thing. There was a great cheese steak sandwich shop in our college town and about once a week we would order for about 2 floors of a 7 story girls' dorm. The shop really sweated making 40 - 60 sandwiches at a time and delivering them, but they sure loved the $$$.
I'll start full time RVing in November and my goal is to fish in all 50 states. I'm also an Andy's fan. I stop by Andy's every time I'm in Springfield which luckily is only a few times a year.
My youngest son works in Springfield and lives out in Ava. Their favorite place to take their kids is the Bass Pro Aquarium. We will be visiting them in August to celebrate their 3 kids birthdays.
The first part made me thankful for our little 25 ft. motorhome. (Confession, we got stuck in my parent's driveway!) But we aren't "full timers". 😂 I call our travels our "explores", because "vacation" just doesn't properly describe our goals for our travels.
Whenever we travel, I want to catch up with any friends who might be in the area we're visiting. That's not my husband's favorite activity, but I enjoy it!
I actually went to Evangel University in Springfield, but just for 1 year. A handsome sailor came home on leave and proposed and I never went back! - Jess
Our missions are the oceans. We love the water. (We live in Michigan surprise surprise we love water). We’ve scratched the surface of Maine. We love Myrtle beach and we love Maui. All of our vacations surround water. Even our vacations to cedar point is surrounded by water ♥️ 😊
BPS is an amazing place. A few friends, and I will be there next week, BPS, Grizzly Industrial (woodworking tool shopping) and of course a stop at Buc ee's!!!!! Andy's is awesome too!!! We have many friends down there some very close friends in Aurora area. Just FYI I'm a cop I may have stopped you but since wife and I are fans I probably would have let you off with a warning! LOL Safe Travels!
My wife's mission is muffler men. Her joy in finding overflows on me. So we don't think your visit to college is silly either. Cheers from your Night Light Rally campers Kim and Cary Cary!
GORGEOUS VIDEO FOOTAGE SCENERY HISTORY & MEMORIES 📹 MAYBE SOME DAY GET DOWN , DOWN THAT WAY. THE STORE LOOKED MASSIVE. LOVE HOW IT WAS BUILT . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏ENJOYED ❤☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 ☺️ THANK YOU 🙏 ☺️
We were in Arkansas in 2019 and took all of our kids to see our college. It was so weird to be on campus. So much had changed in 25 years, and so much was the same. I don't think our kids were very impressed, but it was nice to walk down memory lane for a few hours.
It is nice to see a place from decades earlier, my wife and I were RVing in area that had a closed military base we met at long ago. It was sad to see all the vacant buildings.
The Civic Center took care of it, the manager and staff were amazing there. There was a much smaller event there the week before and they caused 4X the damage we did. They told us that’s just the way it is this time of year. The ruts were not in an official site. This is an AG property, plenty of heavy equipment and tractors💪
It’s funny how life gives you different perspectives depending on on your age and stage of life you are in! Our goal and just to see as much of the US as we can! Our bucket list is really full! ❤ Our Traveling Nest
If the town offers to go to court and school. Do it. I made the mistake of just paying the fine and didn't take into account the insurance increase for the next 5 years on ALL my vehicles.
back in the late 80s thru the 90s I lived two blocks away from Bass Pro in springfield. Now I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast not far from Mobile,AL
I’m in Hoosier national Forest in a van my wife’s not so much of a camper anymore but I still love going Boondocking tried steak fried and bacon grease tonight. It was a grass fed ribeye my God it was good love your videos
I grew up going to Lincoln state park. If you love history you should visit Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial. Both are near the Hoosier Forest…. Down the Road from Santa Claus.
While in Springfield next time, you have to eat at Lamberts “Home of the throwed rolls” You need a dinner roll, they throw it across the room to you or a waitress. Good food there!
Used to go to Springfield a lot. We have several Andy's here in NW Arkansas. Only been once. Grew up in SW Missouri. Brother in law and sister in law went to school in Springfield.
Just got back from Blackwater River State Park Milton.Fl. Made a side trip to Pensacola to The Butcher Shoppe on Langley Ave. Bought spme steaks and had an order shipped home to us,
I've driven semi 48 states for 48 years. If you think there's no speed traps, think again. These small towns will do what ever they will for revenue, legal or not. Believe what you want.
@@ronstacy6054 never said anything about speed traps. But small towns don’t rely on speeding tickets for regular revenue. And most of the fines go to the state
Speeding tickets are revenue and no they don’t go to the state. If a city cop pulls you over within city limits it goes to the city. Family has been in law enforcement for a small town for over 20 years.
Almost never speed with the Class A towing (or not towing). In fact, My top is usually 62-63 mph. That being said, coming into a town can catch anybody until they get slowed down.
No RV in tow,but pulled over in Mechanic Falls going home from Bates College to Oxford. The light was yellow, not red! That was back in the 80s. Now with camper in tow I worry about lights turning red and having to quickly stop 😮
Watching that solitude get yanked out of the mud is accelerating the possibility of frame flex and or frame failure. Especially on Grand Design with weak frames to begin with. 😳
I had the reverse happen to me. I was not pulling a trailer this time but was in the 25 MPH looking at the 45 MPH and the 55 MPH 100 yards past it so i started speeding up. I got nailed AFTER i passed the 55 for doing 55 in the 25 MPH. It was a very hot day so to be nice I pulled into a parking lot and under shade. Believe it or not he noticed that and ended up not writing me up.
We got pulled over in the truck, right after setting up at a campground. We were driving to a park nearby to take the dogs for a walk and ran a stop sign on a 55 mph back road. Love watching you and your family travels. We have an Andy’s here and I haven’t made it there yet. But now I have to try it 😂 espresso please!
Thank you for sharing your adventure. Blessings
My brothers went to Evangel University. I had planned to go there but went to Southeastern in Lakeland Florida instead. I enjoy your travels.
That’s funny! My little brother (Corey’s) went to south eastern 2004-2008 ish
I love ❤️ how you all help each other out in your group what a great group of friends ❤
Excellent Episode! How fun. Thank you for sharing your Some Day with us.
Had my license taken for six months did not stop speeding til I got pregnant hard headed I guess.. KOKO keep on keeping on live and Learn
Whenever we travel, I want to catch up with any friends who might be in the area we're visiting. That's not my husband's favorite activity, but I enjoy it!
So you went to the U of Missouri... I was raised in NM and went to the U of Ark, I loved that area. I am now in Idaho and it is spectacular!
Not Columbia it’s in Springfield. Wrong school
I actually went to Evangel University in Springfield, but just for 1 year. A handsome sailor came home on leave and proposed and I never went back! - Jess
Such a cute response!! I lived in Springfield from 1980-82 while my dad attended Central Bible College.
Thank you for sharing your Life! Inspirational...
Cory, impressive admission of guilt on the speeding!
Its about time for a new video!! Yay!
My bucketlist RV trip would be to watch a game at every minor league baseball stadium in the country even if it takes me 5 years.
GORGEOUS VIDEO FOOTAGE SCENERY HISTORY & MEMORIES 📹
MAYBE SOME DAY GET DOWN , DOWN THAT WAY. THE STORE LOOKED MASSIVE. LOVE HOW IT WAS BUILT . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏ENJOYED ❤☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES 🙏 ☺️ THANK YOU 🙏 ☺️
Leila’s face when she saw the puppies though 😭 What sweet girls you have raised!
welcome to Mizzery, i have family in that area Urbanna,, Springfield is like a lot of places not what it use to be.
I agree expresso shots in ice cream......outstanding
We were in Arkansas in 2019 and took all of our kids to see our college. It was so weird to be on campus. So much had changed in 25 years, and so much was the same. I don't think our kids were very impressed, but it was nice to walk down memory lane for a few hours.
It is nice to see a place from decades earlier, my wife and I were RVing in area that had a closed military base we met at long ago. It was sad to see all the vacant buildings.
So what did y’all do to repair those ruts ya created? With the quick rising water, doesn’t look like ya had any time for that.
The Civic Center took care of it, the manager and staff were amazing there. There was a much smaller event there the week before and they caused 4X the damage we did. They told us that’s just the way it is this time of year. The ruts were not in an official site. This is an AG property, plenty of heavy equipment and tractors💪
Very cool video as always!
Salut~how amazing view~goodbye!🎥
It’s funny how life gives you different perspectives depending on on your age and stage of life you are in! Our goal and just to see as much of the US as we can! Our bucket list is really full! ❤ Our Traveling Nest
Thanks for sharing your journey.
@@ericmcdurmon8000 I will have to try to check it out. Thanks for the tip.
While in Springfield next time, you have to eat at Lamberts “Home of the throwed rolls” You need a dinner roll, they throw it across the room to you or a waitress. Good food there!
I just searched for you guys yesterday. It's been a while. I hope all is good . I haven't gotten the chance to watch yet.
. . a bit of trivia, regarding Sulphur Springs, TX : it’s the home of the founder of ‘J-B Weld’ epoxy products . . . keep some handy in the RV
Bought spme steaks and had an order shipped home to us,
Small towns rely on speed enforcement as part of their budgets. Watch the speed traps.
Yeah that’s actually not true in any way! Because what if nobody speeds? No revenue!
Plus there’s no such thing as a ‘speed trap’ lmao!
You can get that in the East valley of AZ, if you are ever in that area.
Did you check out Lambert’s in Ozark?
Love branson/springfield area. Bass Pro is great
No RV in tow,but pulled over in Mechanic Falls going home from Bates College to Oxford.
We love going to Bellington, WV to Kick Back N Camp which is near so many State Parks in WV. We just spent 6 days there and it was wonderful.
Boy, don't want to be hard on Nathan's driving but when you told him to turn wheels that way...he went to his left. He looked confused.
Oh my goodness !!! I was holding my rate the whole time.
Recovery straps can break and cause major injury, be careful being so close to a strap under tension
Where did you get that movie screen from that is on the side of your RV?
We are staying at the bass pro angular lodge across from the shops so awesome
HAPPY AND SAFE ADVENTURING ANNAMAY
I had the reverse happen to me. I was not pulling a trailer this time but was in the 25 MPH looking at the 45 MPH and the 55 MPH 100 yards past it so i started speeding up. I got nailed AFTER i passed the 55 for doing 55 in the 25 MPH. It was a very hot day so to be nice I pulled into a parking lot and under shade. Believe it or not he noticed that and ended up not writing me up.
