So beautiful, why does it suddenly stop. The music is overwhelming beautiful, the dancers are incredible fantastic. Great choreography, great stage setting. ... but much to short to view.

OK, now I get it why people complain about choppy camera angles in dance videos. In one sense it’s very well done, with well-timed cuts, but without a continuous view of the whole group it loses the buildup of a sense of menace that would match the music. Lucky people who got to see it live!

Великолепная постановка этого танца!Видела много вариантов,этот меня восхитил.Сурово,жёстко,с мечами.Я даже подумала в начале,что женской партиии не будет,что оружие заменит женщин.И очень сиволично выглядит чёрный цвет в костюмах.Жаль,что танец показан не полностью.

Beautiful and elegant dancing. But I'm still waiting for a dance that looks as menacing as this composition sounds.
Okay THANK YOU! Think we're in the minority though. Checked out the one from the Royal Opera House and I was so dissapointed. Costumes were gorgeous, but it felt like they were dancing to the wrong song. This version hits the nail on the head better, but just like you, I'm still waiting.
@bs.6814 Lol! I love your reaction to my response. I, too, have seen another performance of this one (men in tights and lovely Elizabethan costumes). Maybe it was the one you saw? At any rate, it thrills me that someone else understands me on this. Lol.
I couldn't agree more. I'm a pianist and have been studying the solo piano version of this piece, which is called "The Montagues and Capulets." I pictured the opposing factions about to get in a brawl, not stately strutting, as most of the choreographed versions present.@@TheWriterWalker

Полный восторг от большого европейского искусства (трагическая история на фоне рокового 15 века и позднего возрождения в одном из итальянских мини государств, литература Шекспира, музыка Прокофьева и множество постановок выдающихся хореографов ). Вот так выглядит культурное доминирование запада, а Россия часть этого мира!

Amazing and so perfect ! In some ways it reminds me of Mark Morris 's "L'Allegro,il Penseroso ed il Moderato" capacity to renew a classic without loosing any of the original magic. In a scale from 1 to 10, I'd rate this a 20:-) Thank you for the post:)

Choreographed for the PROSCENIUM STAGE, not for a 3 camera TV soap opera. You can’t see the movement with the POV jumping around. Irks me.

Aufgrund der dunklen Kostüme und Kulissen kann man die Bewegungen der Tänzer nicht deutlich erkennen...
Ich habe den Eindruck, dass Theater spart an Requisiten und Farben....
Auch in der Wiener Staatsoper sind einige Ballette mit sehr spärliche Beleuchtung und dunklen Kostümen
an der Beleuchtung vor allem! Die richtige Akzentierung durch die Beleuchtung würde viel bei der nicht ganz perfekten Synchronisation der Tänzer helfen.

Здоровская версия. По-немецки мрачная. ИМХО, Прокофьев так и видел. Собс-но, рыцарский танец - это есть мужской сакральный танец перед выходом на войну, что мы здесь и видим. А не эти ваши танцульки на балу.
В контексте балета к которому и была написана эта музыка это именно танцульки на том самом балу на котором встретились Ромео и Джульетта.

Да, абсолютно. Где эпоха, где те герои, фигня,только музыка прекрасна. А так, жалко на них смотреть. Упражнения по ритмике,почему то в чёрном,непонятном.
