Crochet winter HAT with ear flaps / size 2-3 year / Trapper hat

- Hi my dears. Welcome to this tutorial where I am going to show you how to crochet winter hat with ear flaps, fastening under chin and bear ears on top of the hat. I am going to show you how to crochet size for 2-3 year old kid.
I used yarn called chenille for this trapper hat tutorial. I use Dolphin baby from Himalaya brand and also you need fluffy yarn called Mink or Happy from YarnArt brand or some similar yarn of this type.

@@tommyssheep hi! I’m having a problem with the counts. On round 1 there’s 8 hdc into the magic circle. Round 2 you increase in each hole, but you end up with 18. But 8+8= 16. Is there an extra space that I’m missing? I can’t figure it out. Please help me 💗

Can I crochet with any kind of yarn or have to have this kind of yarn
Hello. You can crochet with any kind of yarn but if you want to get the same size you need the same bulky yarn.

Are there 8 half dc in magic circle, then 2 half dc in each of the second round ending with 16? You stated that we should have 18 and i'm unsure if i should have made 9 dc in the magic circle instead of the 8 i did.
No no you have to count chains on the beginning as hdc..;)
Ch2 from the beginning + 8 HDC = 9 spaces, therefore on row 2 will be 18 HDC's

I’m really having a hard time with the count. You start with 8 hdc into the magic circle, and then increase each space. You end up with a total of 18 at the end of round 2, but 8+8 = 16. What am I missing? Is there an extra space I’m missing?
Hello, yes you have to count chains as hdc. Then increase also this chain..😊

My comes 42 on row where we increase every 4th stitch why is that
You probably forgot to increase once in every round..
In 1st round there are: ch2 + 8 hdc's, therefore 9 spaces - increasing 9 HDC's in each row will result in 18-27-36-45 etc.
