To me it really doesn't make sense to carry a big folder like the Military tip up. At least with tip down you can pinch the hole while still in the pocket and flick it open with a spydiedrop. With tip up carry you have to fumble around with your hand to reach for the hole in order to flick it open, maybe even dropping the knife in the process. Imho it only makes sense with smaller knives, or knives with a wave or similar deployment concept.
Everyone is going to have their own preference, that's what's cool about how these can be customized. My hand is 2x , so when I put my thumb in right pocket to grab knife, it reaches the "spydy hole" easily. So my thumb is already resting in the hole as I pull the knife out of the pocket . Blade towards rear, handle towards front.
@@JohnKlahr that makes sense for sure. Honestly I've been myself an avid flicker for the longest time but having smaller hands I noticed that being able to pinch the hole between thumb and index, pull away and spydiedrop makes for a more consistent deployment for me, compared to flicking, especially under stress, so much so that now I feel inclined to do so even on smaller knives, although having some mass is definitely preferable for dropping.
Will be great when AWT, applied weapons tech comes out with there aluminum scales for the military 2. For a user knife they are great, keeps the weight down and adds a solid feel.
I know it's to each his own but I like a knife with a little heft behind it. If it somehow falls out my pocket I would notice. With a lightweight I might not.
This is a great review! I thought I’d comment even though your video is currently 5 years old. I do however politely disagree with a couple things…. I like liner locks but some do develop lock rock and frame locks can unlock with twisting action, especially when wearing gloves. Also, I feel tip down with the blade pointing toward the inner side of your pocket can cut you if you start to open the blade in your pocket accidentally. Tip up you trap the blade in the corner of your pocket and it can’t open. I carry a military in my left pocket to keep the blade in the outside corner of your pocket so it can’t accidentally open while you’re digging around in your pocket. I’m right handed but this method is much safer IMO. You can learn to automatically grab a tip up out and instantly manipulate the knife to open it. You don’t think about it, it just happens. Much better and safer in my book. I just ordered a military 2 with pm2 compression lock and pocket clip options! I’ve been waiting 10 years for this and I’m thrilled! To each his own though. Much love for the video! I’ll sub.
I like the Military 2 compression lock however I can not carry one legally in Colorado because of the 4 inch blade. I can legally carry a Shaman , Manix 2 , and Para 2 in Colorado . I have no interest in the Para 3 the Para 2 is better in blade size cutting chores at 3-7/16 inches long with a 3-1/8 cutting edge. The Para 3 is listed as a 3 inch blade but the cutting edge is not 3 inches.
Military 2 hands down....been carrying a burnt orange military for 14 years or so......my only complaint is the choil.....really been looking a t the spydie resilience....4.25 blade...no choil s35vn.....its just my millie does everything i need
Here the new pocket clip

Love the video, can you teach a women how to defend herself from a sexual predator
Pepper spray and a taser are best. Then good running shoes to get away. Always practice
Do as I do, scream and run! I’m a man though, is that ok?
