The DOD Police used to be an excellent agency - unfortunately, this article does not tell you that the DOD Police are usually shackled by military leadership. Federally trained, sworn law enforcement officers - and many are stuck on gates, rather than patrolling, responding to calls, and engaging in pro-active law enforcement. I could tell you some stories.
It was also never considered an excellent agency. The department of airforce had a few bases which civilians strictly ran it, but this has changed now. The big Army or big Airforce run these departments. If you want to get into a real LE agency, your time in DoD does not count as it is not considered COVERED TIME. Agencies such as ICE/CBP/Marshals/USPP/USSS/Us Forest/ etc are all covered positions. The DoD police is a glorified security guard gig. Trust me, I'm speaking from experience as a former DoD now in a covered federal gig.
Does anyone have the email? I hate when they ask people to tune in for information, just to get more ratings; please post the email to send your resume to if you have it. Thanks.
Lol, too bad OPM doesn't even consider these guys "federal law enforcement," as they lack the GL pay and 6c covered retirement. Its a gig if you want to hide out from doing real police work, or running away from your current department due to an on going investigation but you still want to play COP as a career.
Don't do it. DoD Police is like a revolving door. Pay sucks, benefits suck, training is a joke, at least on the Navy side. These guys hate their lives. Most guys quit after their probationary period ends and go work somewhere else. The only ones that typically stay a little longer are the retirees who don't want to get bored sitting at home. Your FLETC training will not be put to good use at any CNIC (Navy) installation.
The Navy is doing away with their 0083 police and going back to 0085 security guards. Oh and they are no longer sending any of their guys to FLETC lol....Imagine that 🤣😂 good riddance. Another useless agency.
@@em34ev3r I’ll believe it when I see it. As useless as many of them are, security departments are gonna be hurting more than a lot of them already are.
@@Photog422 Yes they are. If I obtained a UPTP certificate, I would have applied for the U.S. Forest Police or US Park Police, as they are covered positions and pay way higher than any DoD police. Honestly, like I've said before, there is really no use for them other than being an extra body to man the gate.
Did he say 401K in a law enforcement position lol. That is garbage along with that starting salary. Any applicant well qualified for this position should consider local, state, or other federal law enforcement positions. At least most of those here in Pennsylvania come with a 20-25 year pension, full benefits, Union etc. I was looking at transitioning from my local police position to these jobs. However after hearing that crap, no thanks.
Don't go DoD police unless you absolutely have to. They have a basic FERs retirement which is only 1%, so 20 percent of their highest earning. Not to mention the job is static and you sit at a gate with another enlisted personnel. Youre so much better off applying for CBP/ICE/Border Patrol (on the federal side) or with your local/state agencies.

Also being such slime since also being homeless can other homeless men just choose to join the military if they exist long enough in the cold to know the wind kills? Wondering.

Don't go that path son, it's not worth it.
Why does the army have securiyh guards at GS6 but the navy is GS5?
Why does it matter, theyre both bottom feeder positions.

Guard job like the kid who works the gate at my condo for minimum wage. Even the VA Police can't carry off-duty.
You need to read the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act.
By the way you are wrong.
