    A lot of people’s complaints around this gun center around forcing it into roles it wasn’t designed for. The Fix is a utility/hunting rifle meant as a lightweight build for overland hunters or as a truck gun. I’d just kit the thing with a Jumbo Shrimp or Trash Panda, sling, and a good 3-9 or 4-12 scope and it would make an excellent Texas Brush Rifle!

    My only issue with the entire Fix lineup is the light primer strikes. Q can claim hard primers all they want but it’s unacceptable for a modern well engineered rifle to struggle with primers. Otherwise I really like what they have done here.

    honestly it sounds like you were kind of fighting this instead of going with it. Credit to you however being honest about it. I think you're right, I would not have tried to screw around with the cherry bomb. You can put a blastdeflector on it, and they're giving a free suppressor of your choice until the end of August if you buy this

    As a note Kevin of Q was on the SIG product development team for the Cross. Then he left and made the Fix. It’s a strong statement to say SIG stole the idea. The Fix’s action is very different from the cross.

    • @defconcreative
      @defconcreative  8 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve heard no one confirm Kevin worked on the cross, sig hasn’t even made that assertion. The fact that the Fix came out years before the cross kind of lends credence to one taking cues from the other….

    • @DavidBanks02
      @DavidBanks02 8 месяцев назад

      @@defconcreative I think it coming out before doesn’t really make much of a difference. If he didn’t work directly with the cross he was the head honcho of the suppressor division which the cross is essentially designed around. KB is a hype and release dude I have a feeling he wanted to beat them to market with something not seen before. Not saying his stuff isn’t sometimes thought out but just food for thought. The design is not a lot different I agree but at the same time a lot of “modern” hunting rifles are starting to go that route like the Fierce mountain reaper. If it works people will follow on it.

    Why is a full length top rail necessary? I’m not trying to be a troll - I just don’t “get” it. We need a rail on top of the receiver to mount scopes. We need some rail at the muzzle end for an iron sight (?), flashlight switch, etc. The only rifle I’ve seen that used a lot of rail in the middle had a laser designator and some other gear that I will never have or use.
    P.S. I just assumed the handguard had M-Lok slots. Proprietary attachments is a major buzzkill for me. I don’t want much on a bolt action rifle: sling swivel and hand stop are about it, but I don’t want to mess with adapters.
    P.P.S. Turns out you can get a Fix handguard with M-Lok slots instead of Q-Sert slots. I understand the weight & strength advantage of Q-Serts slots but the available attachments are very limited and expensive.

    • @ethanmccracken6489
      @ethanmccracken6489 Год назад

      Full length top rails are for putting Thermal scope attachments in front of your actual scope. Expensive upgrade that makes the gun heavy, but it’s very popular for night stalking hogs and coyotes which this gun is perfect for

    I can't get over how bulky the bipod is, that system screams PRS or bench shooting; seems like it's devoid the intent of the rifle...being the "do it all setup." Either way, I have one, it's sick, the branding is on par with Chubbies shorts and it is a great truck gun that is easily convertible to different calibers. I am salty about the mag choice

    I took the time to do some research on this rifle. You set it up the way it's recommended, you're not gonna find any rifle even double the weight that we do with this rifle does. And you're not gonna find one zero anywhere close to as well as this one will. It's pricey, but if you take a serious look at the engineering that went into it, it starts to make a lot of sense.

    can you explain or link vid to why the bolt lever binds up after trigger pull please?

    • @jackdunross5328
      @jackdunross5328 9 месяцев назад

      Lifting the bolt is what cocks the firing pin, by pushing back on the firing pin spring. Once the firing pin has been cocked, then you can cycle the bolt much easier. How it cycles after the firing pin has been cocked is irrelevant though, but because you need to cock the firing pin everytime you load a new round after firing. The reason this rifle has a heavy bolt lift, is because of the 45 degree bolt lift. A 90 degree bolt lift will have more camming power and be easier to lift. Especially if you have a hot hand load that can make bolt lift heavier than factory ammo.
      45 degree bolt lift is a bit of wank really.
