Love the way they swim to each end when they see you... this scape just keeps getting better.. the lemon tetras just pop and the the colour on the dicus.... wow.
I do think the odd Anubias and Bucephalandra would look great in a couple areas of the wood. But the difference in the fish is incredible, definitely worth the restart and fresh look! I've always felt a Discus tank should highlight the beautiful fish they are and you've definitely hit it with this👍
They feel well , they have a lot of space like in nature , they look at there best, may put in some plants at the back for their rest or to withdraw (you may take out the wood ). Also much more easy to maintain, Looking forward to the bigger Oase Highline 600 with perhaps the new Oase Crystalskim 600 (Surface skimmer) Anyway beautiful discus at their best.
That is the most amazingly beautiful aquarium I've seen in all my life.....I love discus, they are my favorite freshwater species, the red turquoise especially....breathtaking spectacle sir!...love your channel and what you do.
Gorgeous scape. Makes me want to lose the plants from my discus aquarium. Quick question. What temp are you running the tank at please? I not you said you have amanos…. I dont have amanos in mine because i feel it is too hot for them at 30 degrees. Thoughts? Cheers Brian
George. What do you use to clean the waste matter from your tank?? I have a 50 ft. Suction that hooks onto my outside faucet which is good for water change but doesn't seem to work as well for removing waste material. I see you have shrimp in your tank. Any special Purpose for them?? Is there a particular suction system you recommend to clean poop from sand?? I have a 75 gallon tank. Appreciate your help.
Hello George, I am delighted with this aquarium and would like to ask you if you could list what exactly the aquarium consists of. I want to have such an aquarium for my home 1:1. I would like to know where you ordered the piece of wood and the sand. I would be very happy about the answer. Regards!
Suggestions for You: 1) Lemon Tetra - a) they cheapen the look, b) their energy does not balance well w/ the discus, c) they (>50-!?) must add a huge nitrogen load, and d) perhaps you fundamentally have too many fish to the discus' liking, & plants were using plenty. 2) After that, Return SOME plants (3-areas?). You, the discus, & definitely the shrimp will appreciate that. Chose shrimp-tasty greens that inform you of water quality. 3) I thot the first tank was filthy for fish! Maybe now (w/o roots) You can use a biological vacuum(s), 4) Lastly, when using change to diagnose, make only ONE change at a time (like CO2 off). Then patiently observe. Fauna will respond to change quickly enough. When diagnosing - at least, Know what You Know! You were already guessing. AND CONGRATS on all Your successes, George.
I agree with others that a much lower key fish like a classic Black Neon Tetra or Cardinal Tetra would calm the tank down even more. Otherwise I love the new look!
I use Black Neon Tetra's and have found them to be the perfect fish for this style tank and Discus in general. Many use Cardinal Tetras as Dither fish but over look the black neon which is a simple and classic looking fish. Love the new design George.
Lemon tetras are really cool.... I think redtail hemiodus would give this a entire different feel.. the tetra's no doubt set the mood of this tank but the discus are the stars of the show wouldn't matter if this has no driftwood or anything and was bare bottom
Did you make it non planted because of maintance i have 6 discus bro but i feel like i need to clean out the sebstrate everytime because i feel like their is to mutch fish waste and food that stays behind my tank
Surface agitation - and plants respire at night depleting oxygen, so heavily planted tanks often need oxygenation via an air stone and pump if heavily fish stocked, at least for a few hours before the lights come on and the plants start photosynthesising again, a similar problem can occur in ponds in the summer, fish deaths or fish surface gulping around dawn. Hope that helps answer your question.
If I were to be honest your channel has lost something over the past year. Perhaps it is COVID related, but I something has changed. I hope you are doing well. I sense something is off? Wishing you and your family the very best!
Sadly, over the years the quality of Stendker fish has been decreasing. Most of these discus are square shaped rather than round. They also look nothing like original Schmidt-Focke's brilliant turqs with intense colours. I'm sure George provides optimal care for them, but the problem is with relatively low quality of Stendker discus, as compared to Piwowarski and other European breeders. They also have exceptionally weak immune system; hence, so sensitive to CO2.

Take away plants, give them heat, and watch them colour into full splendor :)

George, I must applaud you for this simply stunning minimalist scape! No doubt a nod to the boys at ADG. ❤️❤️❤️
The Discus looks sooooooo nice without plant, yes they are suppose to be the main focus in the tank. Good decision George.
They look so healthy and happy
Wow, what an amazing transformation.

Stunning!
I wanna see an update on this tank! The fish look stunning.
George...can you please make a video on how you keep your sand so impeccably clean?
Beautiful tank and it shows so much better w/o flickering room lights!
Wow George….I love the minimal look. Making me want to go Discus 😍
Hypnotically Good George! 😎
Beautiful! The fish are really on display after the plants were removed.
IT's a dream!
That's beautiful! 😊 👏

Crystalskim 600 (Surface skimmer) Anyway beautiful discus at their best.
Just georgeous. Please could you tell me what kind of lightning do you use in this tank?
Wow! What an eyegasm. Great work on turning those Discus around. gg

Amazing tank !!

Discus are looking amazing now George, can we get in update on the tank soon?

I put a very small amount of sand in the bottom and just remove and replace every three months. So much easier and a more extensive but easy cleaning.
❤❤❤

Hello, just beautiful...
Love this simple set up. Is there a plan for a larger tank?

So amano and cherry shrimp can do ok at discus temperatures?
good fish
A beautiful and relaxing picture.
What lenses did you use?
corys can be a great addition
Totally agree that is essential part of clean up crew!

Nice!
Absolutely gorgeous ... I've had white gravel before.... might need to keep the hydrogen peroxide handy 😉
Cant wait for an Update ?
No problems with algue ?
They really appreciate your decision!
BUT you could get a big java Fern in there Amanos would thank you and it would not affect the fish...
Are the discus dont eat the shrimp?
How long does it take since you rescape for the fish to get back their color?
Discus do eat the shrimps?
👍👍👍
How much size tank?
Have you seen even more color change recently? looks like the black vertical stripes are fading.
Did you make it non planted because of maintance i have 6 discus bro but i feel like i need to clean out the sebstrate everytime because i feel like their is to mutch fish waste and food that stays behind my tank
Hallo , kann mir bitte jemand schreiben was das für Salmler sind … lieben Dank und ein schönes Wochenende ☃️
Für alle die es nicht wissen…es sind Lemon Tetra ( Zitronensalmler ) 😏
💯
what type of fish are the little ones
Very nice , different from your planted aquarium style.
800👍
Wait. Is that amano shrimp berried?
What’s the music in this vid ?
Sir are you from poland??
uk
Really nice.
A few rocks might add dimension to this beautiful tank.
How do you maintain good oxygen levels in the water, because there ain't no plants in the tank?
Surface agitation - and plants respire at night depleting oxygen, so heavily planted tanks often need oxygenation via an air stone and pump if heavily fish stocked, at least for a few hours before the lights come on and the plants start photosynthesising again, a similar problem can occur in ponds in the summer, fish deaths or fish surface gulping around dawn. Make 1 hour video!
You’d think the discus would devour the shrimp

As a pleco lover- add an L14 sunshine goldy Scoby. (Now that you don’t need to worry about a pleco disturbing plants.)
Absolutely beautiful brotha...💯💦💙
Is it just me or do the tetras seem uncomfortable?
... it is a new setup mate 😉
