Beautiful! I'm not surprised it didn't fare well in IAPLC since the emphasis there seems to have been on diorama scapes for the last few years which are more a product of good photography skills than anything else.I would take a classic nature style tank any day over other styles and this one is a beauty. Well done! Love it!
Absolutely inspiring aquascape, stunning yet relatively simple layouts but great use of hardscape and plants. Love the Bucephalandra patches, they also look like different patches of coral heads. Love love love this setup
💚💚💚 Wow, what a lovely planted aquarium, so healthy, so super clean! You can not even tell there is water in it in some shots! Thanks for sharing it with us. 💚💚💚
Low-key hit the jackpot today. Found out spider wood is from rhododendrons. My entire county has rhododendron plants everywhere. Washington state's state flower is rhododendrons. I live a minute walk away from a park called rhododendron park. I even have around 4 rhododendron plants in my front yard. I'm happy
this is my topic at the moment, native wood for aquarium my inhibition is to poison the water the internet says, rhododendron is toxic in every part of the plant for human and animals i am growing up with just Bog-wood in the aquariums we need someone to test different wood species
@@holgerfarber194 yeah, I kinda rushed to judgement, apparently it's part of the rhododendron genus. Azalea. Though I also have those at my house, and at the park too
@@holgerfarber194 and now that I'm checking, so is azalea wood. I'm thinking when it's died, dried correctly, and boiled the poisonous aspect of it should be neutralized, seeing as spider wood is so common for aquariums. Interesting little research rabbit hole I went through there
My congratulations to the artist. This is elegantly designed , especially given the amount of tech involved. And selecting the right plants, I agree, is a key. Along with patience, always a virtue to be cultivated.
One of the most beautiful tanks I’ve seen! Great job Ady. I’ve actually studied in Newcastle, had I know that this tank was just a couple of miles away i. Would have asked to come around for a quick look 😅
I loved it! The flow was just perfect for me...the fish were active and the plants were smoothly kinetic. I would definitely make good use of the viewing chair. Thanks for bringing us a view.
I know it's been a long time since this video came out, but I often come back to it. For me, a role model for what an aquarium with bucephalanders should look like. I'll be doing something similar soon. This arrangement does not get bored.
Helloooo, i'm from Brazil!! It's a fantastic tankfish!! Congratulations !! The harmony among plants, sands, rocks and fishes is perfect!! The RASBORA in my opinion is special fish, small but put presence!
It seems like a lot of my plants come from South America, as a American from a colder climate I'm curious, are you able to find lots of cool native plants for aquarium in nature? I know it's a huge country though so perhaps it's not as simple as it may seem
Thanks so much everyone for the positive comments and constructive criticism, and for taking the time to video the tank George 😃 We love the tank and it’s inhabitants in our home and it fits perfectly with our lifestyle.
About lightning, it is 100 percent intensity or it's lower? i know that ferns and buce, anubias likes low light, but ludwigia is a medium to high lover of light! By the way, it is an awesome scape! Congrats! 👏 👏
@@chisciprian3067 hi, no the lighting is a maximum of 70% intensity for three hours during the photoperiod. The rest of the time it ramps up and down from 40 & 50% 😃👍🏻
Fabulous video. Case studies like these are great. I would love more in depth stuff on trimming techniques and considerations such as different growth rates. Maintenance of a Dutch style aquascape would perhaps be a good case study.
What is the first buce you talk aboutat 1:50. I can't quite understand the name... Elvida? Athena? GREAT looking tank. The more I look at it the more I like it. I want to do an all buce tank soonish...
Hi, we said albida, however I think I misinformed George and cannot for the life of me remember. I am trying to and will let you know if/when I do. It’s actually the most prolific in the tank too and early on in the scapes lid I added more of it so you’d think I’d remember 😬
Those Harlequin Rasbora have the best color I have ever seen. They must feel very little stress inside that aquascape to display such vivid color. It’s not just the light eaither. It’s obvious they are extremely healthy.
Hello George! It is always overwhelming excitement watching your videos. Im so impressed with those bucephalandras. Any special treatment or tips you can share with is on how to achieve those healthy, blooming plant?
What are the plants on the left - dark green circular plant with what looks like a white flower? RUclips's Closed Captions said "Book of Alundra" :-) Are these planted in substrate or glued to rocks/wood?
Super layout and so clean! Water changes are my big interest. How do the fish cope with 75% each week? My shop told me 10% each week... the plants look AMAZING!
75% in a high energy planted tank is no problem. The large water changes are to refresh the system to remove organics and excess fertilisers. In planted tanks both fish and plants create waste so larger water changes are recommended to dilute these.
Yes, to remove waste organics to keep plants and fish happy. I could probably reduce lighting intensity and fertilisation and then do a smaller water change if I wished.
@@AdyM35 lighting time is 8h ? At about how many watts You run the lamps ? I mean if they are 45W and You dimmed them to lets say 80% or what ? Amazing tank 😀

I do not like most of the IAPLC aquarium, they look so fake! Most likely, they last only for several months! I like long lasting planted aquarium.
What an absolutely beautiful aquascape. Everything plant just blends in and complements each other. So natural looking.
Beautiful
Magical. The Chelsea Flower Show level of aquascaping 😍

Beautiful scape. A very ingenious way to scape without soil substrate. This has given me an idea for my next scape project.
Love the fact that the buce is flowering... beautiful tank.
'Much more peaceful', spot on summation ref. a more mature tank. Thanks George.
