Believe his highest rank was 2016 Rank 3. That year had just as many competitors, and imo was the golden year of Aquascaping-- still the highest level ever of the contest. Along with Katsuki Tanaka (Rank 4) and my teacher Takayuki Fukada (GP), Japan took 3 of the top 7 spots. It was an epic party, and the 3 of them looked truly proud to stand there as the Japanese national anthem was played for the first time at the NA Party in over a decade.
I am so impressed with Mr. Itakura's level of commitment and professionalism. His aquascape designs are the finest examples of the Natural Style. He is an artist, and we see this in his artist's studio. Not ostentatious, but exacting, clean and harmonious.Wonderful!
WOW Ryo, incredible!!! And you're right, what an honor to be able to tour Mr. Junichi Itakura'a private gallery of some of the most beautiful aquariums in the world 😍🙏 and what an honor it is that you are giving us the opportunity to see them! Oh, I love the way he listed his plants and fish on each Aquarium. How beautiful. The 150 CM tank is so lovely! And you are like me.... even when the aquascape is the main attraction, I always want to see the fish too 😁😍 and 180(I agree my favorite too) cm tank is a show stopper for sure 😍💚 a little slice of nature. All of them were just beautiful..The 60 cm was just as amazing as the bigger ones!!Thank you for bringing us along and letting us see his incredible gallery and I thank him for taking the time out to show us everything that he uses and how he personally takes care of everything! What an incredible talent! A true artist. his maintenance room was beyond cool! WOW! I could spend all day in that room! His grow out Aquarium for the plants was a dream in itself! How incredibly kind it was for him to tell us about his Fish Room and show us around! I really enjoyed the video Ryo. I hope you have a very blessed day my friend!!🙏🌱🐟🌱💚
Almost everyone wants an Aquarium but almost nobody can create and maintain them like this Amazing Gentleman does. I know people who spend big bucks on their tanks only too sell them a year or so later because they didn't understand the required daily/weekly maintenance as well as selection of proper filtration and conditioning equipment. This is truly Living Art.
Words fail me. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing gallery tour of Itakura-san. I had been following his work. Now, this vlog gave me an impeccable behind the scene a clear view of how and what I do have to change.
Hello Ryo, really GREAT!! THX for you and Mr Junichi Itakura !! I have to come to Japan. Love the People an the History. Go on with the Show and take us around to other People - Greats from Germany :-)
Thank you so much .for this video! ❤️ Please thank Mr Itakura for showing his fish room. Have seen fish rooms with 50 tanks ~ not nearly impressive as his 4 aquariums! Which was my favorite? Can't make up my mind. The one thing that stood out to me (or pulled each tank together) was the blue and white screens Mr Itakura made for the back grounds. ❤️🤗❤️
@@RyoWatanabee Technical question: Why were some of the CO2 diffusers placed under the outflow as opposed to in the direction of the outflow? The bubbles seemed to go straight up and get off-gassed before being dispersed throughout the tank. I mean, the results speak for themselves but this goes against everything I know about CO2 injection and diffusion through water flow. Am I missing something?
Wooooahhh you went to Itakura-san's place? The fervor for traditionalist layouts~~ (2016 World Rank 3) Last year I asked him and Tsukiji-san for comments on my Japanese river layout, but I think if I showed him my world rank 2 layout with mirrors I'd get my head ripped off. lol
Itakura-San only grinned and smiled. Tsukiji-San is the master on NA style river layouts so he gave me some pointers. “Hmm... true natural river is quite difficult.” lol I guess I have more studying to do! xD
SteveScapes his scape is so dark this year. The light fall on the giant hair grass is so amazing, you gotta ask him about it. That’s exactly how the grass look underwater
Many thanks for listing all the plants and fishes in this beautiful tanks. This is very helpful. thank you for sharing this amazing fish room! Greetings from Germany
Anyone that doesn't like this vid doesn't respect the hobby nor respect the talent to add tanks to the smaller foot prints of the average Japanese home while making living art😍. Thank you for the share ganbatte kudasai ❤
Great, well organised......even the work room, equipment everything is kept in a neat and impressive fashion....hope oneday i could visit your place & meet you...,👍
Solo entrar a ese lugar genera espectativas. Que paz irradia ese lugar. Es como un sueño para cualquier acuarofilo. Muchas gracias por el video y saludos desde Costa Rica. Pura vida!
This is a great fish room! I see a lot of saltwater aquarium people with nice fish rooms, but this is my first freshwater (show tanks only) fish room I’ve ever seen!! Nicely done!
The tools holder and the background light screen is just amazing.I love it sooo much.I definitely have new inspiration now. Also ryo do you have any suggestions on how to display tweezers and scissors nice and neat? It could be on a table or nicely put on the wall.If you have any idea do let me know
Hello Ryo, thank you for sharing, so so so beautiful. We have 2 salt water aquariums but my next aquarium will be freshwater. Great Job Ryo, please do not stop, great job.

Just if anyone was curious, Mr. Itakura ranked #156 out of 2358 contestants! Incredible!!

So who was no 1 anyways?
The work he has done is just incredible!!!!
@@SteveScapesYT wow. I bet that was an incredible moment for sure 🙏🙏🙏
That was incredible. His fish room is more impressive than most aqua scaping shops.
The best home aquarium video on RUclips!
No clickbait here, what a stunning space he has created. Everything is so neatly organized.

Honestly you are one of the most nicest coolest people on RUclips and I love how you are always happy and fun
Thank you! Just trying to be positive as much as possible and share the hobby I love with everyone.
@@RyoWatanabee thank you it so much fun to watch your videos and what's coming next
This is amazing!!! If I was a planted tank person this is what I would aspire for. The organization is impeccable. Well done video Ryo!
I know right 😅🤣 This room was so nice and tidy. Thank you Dean!
His fish room is one of the best in the whole world very clean very natural looking and god i love the japanese classic homes😍

Hands down this is finest fish room I've ever seen. What a beautiful space to spend time. Thank you for this tour.

He is a really nice guy :) thanks for watching!
Wow! Best fish room tour on RUclips!!! Thanks
Really like his blue to white background. It makes the fish look like birds in the sky!
Amazing! And you can see he is about the quality of the tanks, not the quantity. So well taken care of!
This is absolutely incredible!! Thank you for the tour! What an immaculate fish HOUSE. What and inspiration.
Mr. Itakura is blessed... and wish it to his days nowaday...
God bless you Itakura Sensei...
You can tell he has years of experience put into this setup. Beautiful gallery, thanks for this tour!
Great stuff Ryo! Really enjoying everything about this video. You should do this more, you are naturally great interviewer.

When looking at the Gentleman's tanks it feels like you are standing in a lush field looking at a hillside. AMAZING
This is one if the most impressive fish rooms I've ever seen. The Japanese style room is beautiful.
Mr. Itakura’s aquarium studio is really impressive. I’ve been there twice already and want to keep going back 😅
@@RyoWatanabee I would love to visit that room. You're very lucky!
Well done RYO! You asked all the right questions! All we wanted to know! Beautiful scapes!

Woow the dream fish rom. Now this is a gallery! My ocd is satisfied 🤣
Mine too 😁👍😅
Wooooahhh you went to Itakura-san's place? The fervor for traditionalist layouts~~ (2016 World Rank 3)
Last year I asked him and Tsukiji-san for comments on my Japanese river layout, but I think if I showed him my world rank 2 layout with mirrors I'd get my head ripped off. lol
What he say about your layout last year? Will you commentate on other people’s layout this year?
Itakura-San only grinned and smiled. Tsukiji-San is the master on NA style river layouts so he gave me some pointers.
“Hmm... true natural river is quite difficult.” lol I guess I have more studying to do! xD
I might- I’d have to think about it... the only layout I really want to talk about is Josh’s, but I might ask him about it first.
Note: Siak’s GP layout really speaks for itself without added commentary.
SteveScapes his scape is so dark this year. The light fall on the giant hair grass is so amazing, you gotta ask him about it. That’s exactly how the grass look underwater
Roy this is the most beautiful fish/aquarium studio I have seen this far, amazing!!!
It was nice to see a framed tank being used, even if it was just for storage. That is my favorite tank. The most relatable one for me, lol.
What a beautiful space. Scapes and maintenance room that I could only dream of
Many thanks for listing all the plants and fishes in this beautiful tanks. This is very helpful. thank you for sharing this amazing fish room! Greetings from Germany

Wow....what a beautiful fish room....
Beautiful Aquarium Gallery. But I must say, my favourite scape is that 60p. It looks lush and the composition is beautiful.
Honestly the 60cm tank was my favorite.
Those were amazing to see! - Attention to detail and everything sooo neat
Absolutely stunning!
Why absolutely outstanding thanks for sharing my friend you always come through with the best videos
Thank you very much ☺️
Wow Ryo. That was amazing. I think the Iwagumi one is my favourite. Even if the plants haven’t fully grown, that look so good.
Yeah, I really like the iwagumi too. It’s such a relaxing tank to look at :)
The iwagumi should of been the center of attention
