as a former joann employee, the smile rewards app refreshes its coupons every Sunday from what ive experience. also the location I used to work at, changes the sales almost every week on Wednesday night. not sure if this is same for every Joanns (it should be the case but unsure) but I highly recommend checking Thursday for new sales if that's the case. Usually if you want to know up coming sales, ask an employee they usually know they next sales that are coming up in the next week. I had some people ask me this all the time and I usually knew what sales where happening in the following week. This might not be the case everywhere you go though but it doesn't hurt to ask. Coupon Savings #1: If something is on sale (not including doorbuster or clarance items) you can use the coupon that says x% off entire purchase. So say you buy an item that is 30% the regular price you can use a 20% off entire purchase coupon on top that discount. I don't think ive ever seen it go above 20% except for on the rewards app and it usually only up to 30% of entire purchase. Coupons savings #2: If you have a 40% off one regular priced item coupon and a 50% off regular priced item you can use both of those coupons in the same transaction but you can't use the same coupon twice in the same transaction like 2 of the 40% off one regular priced items. Free Shipping Savings #1 There is usually a free shipping coupon on either the website or app but if thats not the case go to Free Shipping Savings #2 Free Shipping Savings #2 If the item you want to get isn't in stock or they don't have enough the item you want to get. Talk to an employee about getting that item shipped to your house. Since ordering it from the store, it won't cost anything for shipping so you will only be paying for the item plus sales tax. Unfornetely for this option you only are able to use a credit card for payment. so no debit card, check or cash. I think you can use a Joanns gift card for this option but im not 100% sure about that. P.S. Im unsure if they do this at every location but doesn't hurt to ask about it. Hope this helps for anyone who loves to shop at Joanns. :)
Current Michael's cashier here!! If you get your yarn there regularly, that rewards program is a *lifesaver* because you earn $5 or $10 rewards vouchers when you spend a certain amount and it comes off everything (even stuff on sale or clearance!!). Also the coupons on the website can be used multiple times (wink wink, nudge nudge). Loving these yarn tips Camryn!
Also, I just discovered that as a senior, I got an automatic discount of 10% on regular and sale items. It isn’t on online and pickup orders, just on store shopping. I am in Canada.
@@jackieschneider7354 very nice! I’m sure it works similarly in the US, from what I remember we offer discounts like that for seniors, teachers, and military members :)
I buy pillows from thrift stores or even take friends and familys old pillows, wash them cut them open and usecthe stuffing as its exactly the same as fiber fill, and you can pick them up for almost nothing. Everyone thinks i have a pillow fetish 😅
I always put things in my cart on Joann's website and after it's in there for a couple hours they will send me an email with a 25% off my pickup order. Even if the one on the website is for 20% off of pickup order. 😉
The Joanns 50 to 60 percent is what I use for my polyfil as well!!! Happy to hear I'm not the only one who buys the big box when they put that coupon out 😂
Hobby lobby is my go to! They do 30-50% off yarn SO often ❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you so much for your videos! I’m hoping to do my first market this Fall 🎉 definitely feel more confident after watching your content!
Remember, some of your viewers live in Canada and we don't have Joanne's here. And a great hack for polyfil is to buy pillows from Walmart or a dollar store. Not sure if your Dollar Tree carries pillows or not but Dollarama here in Canada does. Both Dollarama and Walmart sell pillows for less than $5. Just cut them open and use the filling from inside. So much cheaper than buying Polyfil at craft stores.
Thank you for all the amazing tips! Love your positivity, your videos are super helpful & sooo much fun to watch (plus going to have to try your tips at shows, thank you ever so much!!!)
JoAnn's definitely! She have a much better selection than the other stores in my area. But, if I want something she doesn't carry, I use Herrschner's. They have some great sales, but they don't offer any free shipping. Also, advice from Toni from TL Yarn Crafts, if you're a newbie who needs to upgrade your hooks, use those 50%-60% off coupons to get the Clover hooks.
Yes love this! I always try to buy a lot of yarn at once rather than buying here and there. I often save when I buy more. I live in a small town where Walmart is my only option so I go all out when I get to those bigger stores. Yes sign up for rewards programs(they are often free to join) I also stick to only buying yarn if it’s on sale only or some deal is happening.
You can have your order shipped. Joanne's and Michael's both ship. You can order an variety, then reorder the colors or styles you particularly like. Sometimes, free shipping available if over a certain amount.
Ty, deffinately going to tey to utilize this ..... i dont have a job anymore and all i have around me is farmers markets plus my husbands veteran pay is monthly . Ty u for this!
Love JoAnn's. I did happen to get some great deals on Amazon before Christmas. 2 skeins of forever fleece for $9.09 and 2 skeins of bernat blanket yarn for $11.97. So $4.50 and $6 per skein is always a great deal. Definitely agree on the Polyfil. I get the giant 20# box for $ 40!! Love it. 16:02
I shop at Micheals a lot and if I need only a few skeins, I just use the coupon and do individual purchases so I get the 30% off on each skein. I also like to pick up fiberfill at the thrift store or garage sales. Usually its like $1 for a full bag vs the bag being $6 for 1lb
At Joann I always do the 10 dollars off 50 and if I can the 40 percent off coupon. And then that is usually enough to get the 5 dollar voucher. I love Joann!
JoAnn is my QUEEN, too!!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰. The coupons are just so outstanding! Regardless, I feel like all of the stores have coupons, you know? Great tips! ☺️🫶🏻🧶
If you want Parfait Chunky for less - try ordering from Parfait itself or Mary Maxim - 4.99 or 3.99 online. I do like JoAnne's... but mine seems to be out of colors often.
That is a great tip! If possible, going to the producer themselves is a great option, especially if ordering in bulk, as they usually have their own business discounts!
I’m lucky enough to have a second-hand craft store that has great prices on quality yarns. I’ve gotten whole skeins of cotton yarn for, like, $3. Additionally, I’m lucky enough to have an awesome buy nothing community in my city, so all I have to do is meet up with people in public and get yarns I could never afford completely for free! The only yarns that I’ve bought new is the Pride line at Joann. There‘a a serious lack in my area for wearable LGBT+ crochet items, and I want to fill in that gap for my community. Otherwise, everything is second-hand yarn to help keep my prices lower!
my mom and i are trying to start our own business and we are, ready get $25 just by selling to friends but when we move we’ll start going to markets and make a lot more
Hi Camryn! We live your channel. This is Ben and Lili. We're 12 and 10 years old and we just LOOOOVE your channel! Your videos are so fun. We started a business crocheting plushies...but we are in Canada and we have a hard time finding the Bernat velvet yarn. We've tried to find a substitute but we're having a hard time. Can you help us find someone who does deliver to Canada?
Its sooo sad, that we in Germany dont have all of these stores :( I need to pay for one skein of bernat velvet 26,99€ :( Thats soooo much more than to order them from Joanns. Another Sad thing is that Joanns dosen´t send out of US and Kanada anymore. So now i have to handle that somehow. But well it is, what it is.
If you want high-quality fibers, a craft is not the way to go. Online places like Ice, Hobbi, and Kerschner are where you should go. I would love to know the percentage of female purchasers over the age of 50 that purchase from these markets where the newbie crafters are selling your items. I have a theory I would love to test. If you wouldn't mind sharing an estimated percentage of that demographic, I would greatly appreciate it.
Bernat is never on sale its£11.99 across the range I use the velvet obviously but baby blanket blanket sparkle and speckle. I dont think I've ever seen it on sale. Yarnspirations do not export to the UK. Neither do parfait. Tried to import from joann and Michael's neither of them do. The struggle is real.

Herrschners! They almost always have free/very reduced shipping on the weekends and they run great sales!

I buy most of my yarn from the manufacturer in Turkey. Yes, you need to place large orders to offset shipping but it is so worth it!
I imagine it is so worth it if you've narrowed down your products, so you know you'll use that specific color!! :)

Ours too 😢
Oh no! I honestly would freak out if our Joann closed 😂😢❤️
all the stores you mentioned (except amazon) are only in the us/canada... or at least not in my country
