As a former firefighter, I know what cutting through 1 3/4 inch hose line is like. Double jacketed isn’t easy to get through with any blade. That’s why I always carry one of Microtech’s blades in my pocket or on my belt at all times!
Decided to pull the trigger on an Microtech Ultratech from an authorized dealer today. I am happy to know that the quality is there for many years to come. Thank you for these videos. They make me appreciate the craftmanship of what actually goes into these knives.
Same here, I also got a utx 85 that I hard use and it’s made me gain so much trust in Microtech quality and overall durability, I work that knife and never hold back or baby it, it’s a great knife!
Bernd DasBrot I bought a Vespa Halo 6, one of the charging wings fell off. Still can use it, but I also purchased an authentic Halo 6 and haven’t had any issues with it. It’s a shame because some of the other Vespa knives I own are of good quality, but I won’t trust them completely as I do my Microtech knives.
The hammering really made me cringe, and it's amazing the blade didn't come off the tracks throughout the testing. You have me convinced I need one. Thanks!
Just bought my first Microtech Ultratech UTX-85 S/E and so far I am very pleased. Kept spending money on cheap OTF knifes and of course hearing these are the top of the line entry I had to check one out. Here’s to hopefully a long life of getting plenty of use from this beauty. You guys rock. Good stuff
Awesome video! I've held off on buying an OTF auto for years. I always questioned their lock up, durability and amount of maintenance with all the moving parts. After recently handling a couple Ultratechs, I became more interested in an OTF but was still on the fence . Saw this video and it locked my decision. Glad you beat on the knife as I wouldn't with their price point. Coincidentally, also found a Combat Troodon the same day I watched this video I ordered that bad boy and now I'm geeked for Christmas! Woohoo!
@@robertfelts8773 it is a big knife, but carries well. Definitely feels durable. The switch took some getting used to (very strong spring). I used some rem oil per their website and this video and after about 2 weeks and some thumb callouses, I can work the switch well. Lol . Deploying the blade was never difficult. Retracting it was what took some time. Definitely had to build up some forearm and thumb strength and get used to the motion. (This is my first otf) Been using it almost daily for common edc cutting chores. Works great!
I own about a dozen microtechs. Only have had 1 problem with one of my combats after about 2 to 3 years with thousands of actuations and microtechs customer service was quick and speedy. Got my knife back in around 2 weeks with a high speed rare microtech morale patch. This is the ONLY brand of knife I will carry period.

Thank u guys!
Bought my second OTF first cobra tech it failed to launch after about 3 years no heavy usage just light cutting and I decided to upgrade to the microtech 702-3rd hera!! Definitely a huge and noticable upgrade!

Damn that’s unreal. I know some quality folders and even fixed blades that wouldn’t have made it through that test! Makes me feel really good about EDC’ing my M390 Ultratech with the bayonet profile blade. I wish I could afford a Troodon but to be honest even the Ultratech really pushed my budget. Even knowing the extreme quality of these knives I kinda thought they were more of a light use knife. Not so much anymore.

I keep hearing people say something bad about MT knives. I have yet to find any problems with mine, I only own 4 at this time. 1 guy complained about a round metal edge that hit his hand when it was in his pocket. It wasn't something wrong with the knife itself. Its the way it was made. My first thought you want some cheese, probably. The hardest thing about my my combat troodon is the switch is hard to retract back. Guess what it is supposed to be. Anyway great video, you gave it a work out I will be carrying mine everywhere.
Amazing Video, I’ve cut a tire off the rim with my Benchmade Adamas and it’s no freaking joke difficult lol. That’s an awesome Knife. Microtech has an amazing Mil/Leo discount for any of there production knives. It’s a huge discount.
