Yep! I've watched him use Vinny with all of the attachments since he got the first one. He's got a really wide finish mower for it too, and a cool aerator you should see! 😀
I think the Ventrac is one of those machines where after buying one you'd say "I don't know how I got along without it!". Such a cool machine and great collab. Never get tired of watching my favorites work together! Nice job guys and great video 👍🏻
A few dealers Have commercial clients That use thier Ventracs for 3 or 4 years and then rotate to new machine and they will overhaul the old machine before they sell it. I think for a non commercial user, That would work just fine. It's only really shortcoming I see on Ventrac and steiner Is that But they don't have a lot of capability lifting lifting heavy bucket With The front end loader
@@kdegraa The Ventrac is ridiculously expensive, especially considering I'm mowing a 40-46° slope with a Kubota BX2380 and a 60" MMM. If the Ventrac taps out at 30° then they really aren't worth the $25k-30k one trick pony price tag.
Tim and Mike this was great seeing the two of you together. Not only that but using equipment and sharing thoughts on performance. Really enjoyed it thanks for doing this very fun watching. Thanks to the finance department for the great video. Everyone stay safe
Love your honesty Tim, especially on the what you call embarrassing mistakes..lol. Even though I wouldn't call them mistakes, just trial and error experiments. And yep, 30 degrees is pretty dang steep when you're sitting on a tractor or riding mower for sure!
Tim, I admire your tenacity in showing the vini limits mowing sideways. We have a retaining pond at church and I only mow those steep slopes straight up and down!
Tim this was a great video! I’m almost always working steep ground with tractors and I’ve been ribbed in comments as to why I go around the hill in places. Sometimes that’s just the best option in a particular situation! 30+ degrees is definitely steep. Drier conditions would have made a big difference with the Ventrac. I can appreciate the challenges in this video. Take care!
Also I notice that the tire treads pf the Ventrack was clogged with mud, this tends to make things slippery, even on my 1026R having dry grass and clean tires makes all the difference.
Dad used to mow the dam for the lake we lived on. My best estimate is that it was between 15 and 20 deg slope. He would mow it only sideways and actually turned even whiter when I told him about the time we were at camp down from the dam several years before and watched the lights of the mower mowing up and down. The dam is a bit over 1000ft long and varies in width from 20ft to over 140ft. It also varies in slope by quite a lot along its length. Thank you all for this video it was one of the most fun videos I've seen in a while :)
This is an excellent RUclips collaboration. Thanks. It was a really testament for Ventrac since the old machines were so loud. Perhaps Engcon can be convinced to do a collaboration between your two channels covering the big and small tilt-rotators and the utility of the attachments.
Probably my favorite TTwT video of all time....and Tim, you put out a lot of good stuff!! Getting stuck right at the jump was classic! I own a mini-ex and I still feel awkward with it...you did great. Take care. B&D.
Tim your playing Russian roulette mowing next to that excavators mower head that thing will throw a rock right threw you. I have seen them things throw a rock 300 ft at 100 mph it will only take one rock to do you in.
What a great view of the Ohio River. That new VenTrac does the job just like the older one. I wouldn’t have known the difference without your introduction. Both you had more fun working than is allowed. Good work on those drone shots Christy!!!!!
I really enjoyed this one with two of my favorite RUclipsrs. Tim and "Johnny" is the reason I started watching. I have seen DP mow this on his channel. Had I seen Ventrac before purchasing my second JD my purchase might have been different. Watched Ventrac live last night.
Tim, You make me feel "right at home" there is no piece of my equipment which I haven't gotten stuck and had to use a winch to get them out! Go for it!
Great video Tim! I haven’t seen 38 degrees on my Ventrac buy WOW! Had some of our viewers talking about this video. They were 💯 right. May be one of the best Ventrac videos made. 😁👍🏼👊🏼
I have two older Ventrac tractors. I would go vertically on that slope. Lift the deck slightly to put more weight on the front axle. Set the cutting height higher to max height on rough mowing.
You two play off one another well. To see the two of you discussing machinery is informative and entertaining. I’m a big fan of collaborative You Tube contributor videos. This one was especially good. You work well together, and I like seeing Mike in a more serious discussion/role. Appreciate the “warts and all” parts that show miscues. The honesty is refreshing.
I noticed that the new Ventrac 4520 sounded more quiet too. I didn't ever know about the Ventrac's ability to move the weight (floating) from the implement to the tractor. Really good engineering. Thanks for a great demonstration of mowing a really difficult area. -Chad #purplecollarlife
This is a great video!! I am going to add Dirt Perfect to my list of subscribed channels. I ran a Ventrac 4500 for a municipality mowing slopes on the side of bridges that they contracted with the State to mow. I loved that machine and was lucky enough to operate it when it was brand new. Most of slopes were about 30 degrees with occasional 33 degree "holes" or "dips" in the bank. I often wondered what it's limit was and you guys have answered that question. Thanks again for a great video.
I just had to watch this again. The multiple capabilities you demonstrated with the cut, climb and most importantly the hydraulic changes were are eye openers. Great video.
I have found that when mowing my hills it works better to mow more often, when it is dry and mowing straight up and back down. I do not have a Vinny but if I did, I would never subject it to mowing that terrain. Best wishes.
Sorry, but I saw very little "impressive" from the Ventrac. I've seen their RUclips vids, and they obviously cherry pick what they want to show. But too much sliding around and destruction of ground at DP's. I'm not impressed. Kinda disappointed, actually. I have a similar slope/situation, and Ventrac is not the answer for me.
Always Fun to Watch like minded folks play with new toys..lol. Dirt Perfect & TTWT Very Fun To Watch ! Thanks For Filming Christy They Gave you the hard Job !
Really like the should not have backed up "my mistake" honest and truthful. Everyone has made a mistake but what you have done is make light of it, no reason to get mad or upset trenches happen.
Good advertising for the John Deere that kept pulling you out . But I am really impressed with that Ventrac machine . Think maybe i'll look around here in northern Ontario Canada for one of those . Tim you gave it all it had nice video
The investment it takes to keep weeds, grass , brush and trees cleaned up in the Midwest, south and east is impressive. I'm in Idaho, and you don't water it, it doesn't grow. We get weeds, but mabey mow em twice a year. You guys got my respect.

You guys pushed the new Vinny to its limits. Amazing machine. Had a few drops of perspiration on a few of those steep passes you guys made but I got through it! LOL!
On the 4500 you can get a weight kit that goes over front tires. I don’t see a fender on the 4520 to use the kit. Blue Cord Property has his 4500 fitted with the kit. Perhaps that would address the issue Dirt Perfect discussed.
This tractor is so much more robust than all the little gentleman tractors people are buying. They all have there place, but for mowing, this thing is very tuff. Great flotation with those duals. Great motor and hydraulic system. The mower itself looks extremely tough. Great investment. Probably last you 50 years.

On a regular tractor and brush hog you have to mow sideways and try to keep your level or you'll slide. With a belly mower you have to, with the exit shoot pointing uphill! The deck vacuum helps keep you on the hill.

Very impressive video! I have a similar hill in steepness, not as long and a lot less area but I mow from bottom up then back down. My little Cub Cadet handles it fine but the seat prevents me from mowing across the hill. There's no arm rests to hold me in! Best Regards, Jay
