    Man please go to this homeowner and have them cover that septic tank, we had a child fall in a septic tank where I live and drowned the police looked for him for three days and they found his body in the septic tank. Cover that thing up before someone or something falls in and dies

      That's awful. Yeah, the whole reason they wanted it cleaned up was so that they could have some septic work done. So they'll take care of it once they come out and fix it. Elderly lady lives here and probably hasn't been out there in years.

But all my tractors have compound wire cutters and I carry large bolt cutters in my truck. Way worse on flail mowers. I have the hydraulic deck tilt option. Absolutely needed on my 6’ flail mower. Put a traffic cone or trash can that septic tank! Great job. I also carry the leatherman on my belt as edc v

    I am impressed with your calm and reasoned approach to the obstacles you encountered during this mowing job. I would hope the owner would mark those obstacles with caution posts, flagging tape or paint. In VT, we have to mark fence wire with flagging tape or signs, especially if the fence crosses what might be a pathway or trail in the winter. Snow mobiles or skiers are supposed to stay on marked paths maintained by landowners or clubs.

    • @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri

      Pros: bushog cuts the material first because it’s out front, it can tackle some pretty thick stuff, easy to see what you’re cutting when Tough Cut deck is in front of the Ventrac. Cons: it doesn’t cut thin grass as clean as I would like. It’s better suited for thicker brush/grass.

    Just me, but i would never cut property with metal debis in the field, way to much damage to your mower blades, botor drive train ect. Id either have property owner eslk the property first and check or if do it and charge him for that time. First you had unmarked sewer then barbed wire then a metal tub. Id have all property owners sogn a disclaimer stating theres no metal or debris of any kind befote hand and they are aware of paying for damage and loss in eayges if there is.

Not a bad idea to create an estimate noting that the customer pays for any damage that may have been caused by hidden objects in the yard. I like it. Great tip.

    How do you bid these jobs? Do you charge hourly/ by acre/ by the job? How do you make it worth the investment on the Ventrac?

    • @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri
      @TheLawnCareLifeinMowssouri  Месяц назад

      Have a minimum and charge by the job. But if you're not making $250/hr you won't even be able to make a profit. These things are getting more and more expensive. Hope that helps.

      This one is a pain to tilt honestly lol. Much easier to just crawl underneath. The new Tough Cut has the hydraulic lift though. Could have used that after a long day of workin in the dusty field...
