The Artistry of Michael Jordan II: Outtakes by Hoopsencyclopedia

- This video had to be made because there was so much material left after Artistry II and I didn't want to wait until Part III. These clips may have been left out perhaps due to some quality issues, one less triple pump here and there or because I used other camera angles but the main reason is basically that there simply wasn't enough room to fit everything into Part II. With an entire career that was a highlight reel, that problem is rather extremely large. So, without the constraints of actually doing a Part II (since it's already done), consider this more of a "B" side of sorts, or, for that matter, a relaxing second course after the Filet Mignon. And with that idea in mind, I had a little fun this time - with of course the theme of MJ's mastery of athleticism and finesse intact.
Some personal viewing notes:
0:54 Beating the triple with the righty roll
1:00 Beating the triple with the lefty roll
1:35 Quick direction change into the step-hop dunk.
1:47 Even in this small jump going up with the triple team at the same time, MJ comes down last.
3:07 Right lateral fade
3:11 Left lateral fade
4:30 Quick wrist flick improv at the last second to get over the long arm
4:54 Going against the quadruple team
5:01 Pumping over the triple team
6:06 Fakes using the screen against Childs
6:31 Challenging the quad again
8:43 Roll and bounce off defender fade left
8:46 Roll and bounce off defender fade right
8:56 Abusing the double trap twice
9:01 Gill with the massive hand check and massive push at 9:04
9:19 Wilkins with the forearm check with all his might
9:36 Wilkins with every hand, body, forearm check in the book
9:53 Gotta love that footwork
10:05 Age 40 MJ toying with KG in his prime
10:28 Love that rare angle of the famous shot
(Song is "Hayling" by Kahuna). Спорт
Still watching Hoopsencyclopedia....forever.
5:38 One of the craziest layups I've ever seen. Very similar to the famous one against the Nets in the 90-91 season
This is a perfect video. Watched this 10+ times and for sure will watch it a couple more.
All these videos are great from Hoopsencyclopedia. It just reminds you of the greatness that was Jordan. He didn't take nights off.
Greatest player ever lived and of any era!! It's not even close honestly. MJ had God given ability w perfect fundamentals and unbelievable drive to succeed!! This dude played both ends of the court night in and night out. Don't forget he's 6-0 in finals and won 6 finals MVPs! And people wanna compare Lebron......lmao!!! Kobe is the closet ever to MJ
Oh man...Thanks for this !!!!
MJ is the only player whose MISSED shots would make a great compilation !!!
When I read outtakes I was assuming I was going to see amazing misses by Jordan...but this in my eyes is as good as an Artistry 3. Thanks hoops.
WHOA!. it was some time since i have seen this video and damn, every time my eyes are like..WHAT HAVE I JUST SEEN???
The most stunningly beautiful and breathtaking game there ever was.
Man, this flick has made my day..... many thanks hoopsenc..... I've seen Jordan footage I didn't even know existed! There is seemingly no end to this guy's athletic talent..... thank God for the internet.... I don't think the legend of Jordan will ever be forgotten..... DWade, Kobe and LeBron are at a loss before they've even begun.
0:14.. one of my favorite clips.. that move.... oh that move. and the way he held it right before he executed. tha man WAS... the GOAT
I wanted this video to never end.
the simplicity of this song is beautuful
Props to Hoopsencylopedia - one of the Greatest Of All Time RUclips deejays. Thanks Hoops. Been following you for over 5 years.
Thank you very much for all this great MJ videos, you are our RUclips hero , cheers
really sick videos hoops. Ive been a fan of Mj's since i was a kid growin up in chicago, but your videos really take apart the intricacies of jordans game. I feel bad for the youngins who missed out on jordans best years. Im sure i speak for many of your viewers, thanks for putting all this together.
hoopsencyclo, you're a good dude. I'm in awe of your compilations.
i love the young clips of MJ. I never got to see 80s jordan live- he's up there with the fastest to have played in my opinion. But 80s jordan and 90s jordan are like two controlled his power. The 80s version was pure, unadulterated fire. so sick.
anyways thanks
it is ridiculous how good mike was in his prime.....god damn!!!! the most complete and graceful player to lace em up!!!!
MVP, DPOY and Scoring Title in the same year.
7 straight triple doubles.
MJ did everything.
Nuff said.
please make a part IIII please, every day im thinking about a part IIII this is the only good michael jordan videos in the world, you are the best , thanks for the work, and please make a part IIII
we nneed a new video sir
I can watch this all day. Thanks Hoops.
love your vids, hoops, keep up the good work!
Hoopsencyclopedia, dude your videos of Jordan are the best by far. This is the best video I've seen. Basketball= Jordan
The man was defended by: Barkley, drexler, starks, hardaway, payton, kemp, dumars, dominique wilkins, majerle, Magic, Rodman, oakley, glenn rice, mitch richmond, rolando blackman.. owned everyone of them.. GOAT
That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that. I had to rewatch that part like 5 times just so I could try and remember all that he did in that movie. There are so many moves where Jordan does some crazy footwork to get a better shot. Like 6:22, where he gets that assist after breaking 3 defenders.
The dunk at 3:03 is vintage Young Jordan. He used to do that move all the time, the lightning first step, 1 dribble eating up about 15-20 feet of space, tip-toeing the sideline where there is seemingly no room, elevate sidewards and back towards the lane, ball in one hand and dunking so quickly that the help defense has no time to get over. Classic Mike, the explosion just unparalleled before or since.
BW clip is from a rare MJ camp vid in Brixton. You can search that full vid in youtube (Jordan in Brixton).
Michael, do you EVER miss a shot?! Simply Iconic...his induction was beautiful
I can watch these clips all day! #GOmAiRjAT
amazing compilation video bro, great job. I really enjoyed this and can't stop watching
I love these tributes to MJ Hoops a good reminder or reminisce of MJ's career before his HOF induction on September 11.......thinking about it that's the same day as 9/11
Simply SPECTACULAR! You are right hoops. Its impossible to make Artistry I, II or even 20 if his whole career was a highlight reel!
I always see Mikes played out highlights but I always liked his highlights from random games. I'm glad I recorded his games as a kid and that someone put this together. This vid goes to show this guy was amazing every night.
Song is "Hayling" by Kahuna.
Hell, this could have been "The Artistry of Michael Jordan III". Great stuff as always, hoops.
Had to watch this again, his hang time and balance to still get off good shots was simply amazing...for any other NBA player in history, some of these shots would be a bad decision, for him it was another day at the office.
Great mix! Not only boring dunks, and the music sets a great mood.
Enough clips here to inspire mj video editors for years to come. Much love hoops
any jordan mix from hoopsencyclopedia is a good thing.
Greatest basketball channel on youtube. It's not even close.
We can not see "The Artistry of Michael Jordan I" in Germany due to copyright issues of the music... I am downloading part I now from:
Thank you very much for all this great MJ videos, you are our RUclips hero , cheers
Great video as always Hoops. Always a pleasure watching your Jordan videos. Seen them all. Love 'em all. Great editing too.
I've been waiting for this man Thanks!!
The NBA should simply create a collection of ALL of MJ's points !!!
I mean how bad is it that we don't have more material of Bruce Lee ???
MJ is a legend and the material is there. So come on , NBA ...provide it !!!
thanks for introducing me to this song!!
man.....1 word. hypnotic.. true poetry in motion my friend. plus this is the PERFECT song yo
this is awesome. thank you for all this lost footage.
Hoops: I know you call this an outtakes or a b-side or whatever, but its just as good as parts 1 and 2. The music has a dreamy, ethereal, light/airy vibe to it, perfect for the player who still to this day seems too good, too stylish, too perfect to have been real. It also matches his playing style to a tee. Another work of art hoops. I only hope there are about 200 more parts coming.
Hoops you are the man!!!!!Probably the best MJ Compilation I've seen here........
Too bad, that you don't upload your stuff somewhere else, you know,to make it downloadable in better picture quality and than to enjoy that stuff on a big screen.
Awesome Video
Some great clips Hoops. Thank you.
1:41 . There's just something so badass about that dunk. MJ looked gangsta.
Song is "Hayling" by Kahuna. You can see it in the itunes partnership that pops up.
AWESOME VIDEO! Thanks Hoops!
amazing video. You're the best at making Jordan mixes.
i love the video-effects you've used this time... look awesome!
Outtakes or not, this video is great...I can't believe I'm still seeing some highlights for the first time, how many does he really have? Wow...
thanks for the videos man. i appreciate them. you understand what basketball is about. Once again thank you
Thanks. The song is "Hayling" by Kahuna.
incredible
1:55
ROCKING THE RIM AND THE AIR JORDAN 11 SPACE JAMS HARD!!
Thanks Hoops
amazing!!!!
yes!!!! another one!!!! ultimate
MJ's handles are so underrated
Wow I thought that I had seen ever jordan highlight. This guy is so fucking good. Triple team four on one it's ok I'm Jordan. It seemed like sometimes he missed on purpose just to be nice.
Not to mention a fade away jump shot that makes Kareem's sky hook look stupid
Wow!...You never cease to quench my thirst for more rare MJ!!...Where did that rare angle of the switch-hand come from?...LOL...Did you break into MJs home to get it?...Your archive should be illegal...You are the best sports channel on RUclips and I really appreciate your work...Thank you.
Bon travail! C'était super!
Good Job! It was really nice!
excellent choice of music
I think this is my favorite of ur 3 mixes, ironically
great vid man, keep it up
amazing player amazing video
Godlike.
I love watching MJ in 96-98. It's the closest thing in real life to an old kung fu master who can kick the youngsters' butts and make it look easy.
perfect.
You got my vision right on with that comment - thanks. I will start digging through footy for Part III as we go. Until then, I'll get some single game edits going again of course.
Michael Jordan forever.
Seriously. There will NEVER be another player even close to MJ.
@creamz0r Hey man much thanks for the words. Best comment ever haha.
Great vid.
The greatest basketball 🏀 player that's ever lived eeaaasy
mann, great, thank you
"The Artistry of Michael Jordan II" and "Artistry of Michael Jordan II - B" are both the best 10 minutes videos I have ever seen. And I am a soccer fan! MJ is the greatest sportsman of all sports. Where can I find "The Artistry of Michael Jordan Part I"?
is this best jordan video on youtube?
I think so
ohohoh Im really inspired right now!
love that one at 6:03 plays with child like he is a kid.
5:32 is like a "water down" version of that famous move vs the nets, still really great though.
i also wonder how did maxwell and mj started that fight.
Hey man you make the best mixes i have ever seen of Michael Jordan. And I love that every time i see your work there is footage i have never seen before. Thanks man. One question, what's the name of this mix?
the greatest ever, the whole planet knows....
The song really captures the art of MJ's mid air motion. Who is it by?
Still to this day I haven't seen a player attack the basket with the grace and power as Jordan did. OMG I thought King James was insane until I check out Jordan 1988 season HOLY S***** you were poster. Never and mean NEVER give this guy baseline!
didnt like part 2's music but this song was nice. the highlights are always A+. alot of pullups jumpers in this one against solid 1 on 1 defense. nice work as always.
Good work bro..
Finally a vid that shows MJ in his early years, maybe this will stop the Kobe has a better this and that.....Jordan doing crossovers, hesitations which was harder to do back then, the only time you really got to show those things were either in transition or fastbreak opportunities, due to handchecking. Look at his speed and first step, unmatched today.
Great upload thanks as usual!
I have a quick question. How many game winners does he have?
I like last Pacers clips where he was avoiding the defender in mid air, very nice. And what's the black and white clip from? where he's playing with some dudes and a colored ball?
Thanks for everything, can't wait on the next vid.
The dunk at around 1:40 it's like he shifted into another gear.
Regarding game-winners, there is no official list. When that ad came about missing winners, MJ was asked how many he had made. He said he didn't know and the number that's out (25-27) was put out by his copywriter for his ad without research so they went with it. Depending on the definition of a winner, Phil said it's probably around 50 in one interview. But, MJ said no one has gone through each game to check so there is no official record. The internet lists are all non-official.
ESPN has the HOF Tribute mag out as of now. Some great articles in there.
Is it true that 25% of jordan games at the 80s are not seen?

@hoopsencyclopedia No, thank you. The amount of time you put into making this series must have been great. I'm just repaying the favor.
2:49 assist was nice.
wow....he is to good
