The Artistry of Michael Jordan II: Outtakes by Hoopsencyclopedia

  • This video had to be made because there was so much material left after Artistry II and I didn't want to wait until Part III. These clips may have been left out perhaps due to some quality issues, one less triple pump here and there or because I used other camera angles but the main reason is basically that there simply wasn't enough room to fit everything into Part II. With an entire career that was a highlight reel, that problem is rather extremely large. So, without the constraints of actually doing a Part II (since it's already done), consider this more of a "B" side of sorts, or, for that matter, a relaxing second course after the Filet Mignon. And with that idea in mind, I had a little fun this time - with of course the theme of MJ's mastery of athleticism and finesse intact.
    Some personal viewing notes:
    0:54 Beating the triple with the righty roll
    1:00 Beating the triple with the lefty roll
    1:35 Quick direction change into the step-hop dunk.
    1:47 Even in this small jump going up with the triple team at the same time, MJ comes down last.
    3:07 Right lateral fade
    3:11 Left lateral fade
    4:30 Quick wrist flick improv at the last second to get over the long arm
    4:54 Going against the quadruple team
    5:01 Pumping over the triple team
    6:06 Fakes using the screen against Childs
    6:31 Challenging the quad again
    8:43 Roll and bounce off defender fade left
    8:46 Roll and bounce off defender fade right
    8:56 Abusing the double trap twice
    9:01 Gill with the massive hand check and massive push at 9:04
    9:19 Wilkins with the forearm check with all his might
    9:36 Wilkins with every hand, body, forearm check in the book
    9:53 Gotta love that footwork
    10:05 Age 40 MJ toying with KG in his prime
    10:28 Love that rare angle of the famous shot
    (Song is "Hayling" by Kahuna).

    Greatest player ever lived and of any era!! It's not even close honestly. MJ had God given ability w perfect fundamentals and unbelievable drive to succeed!! This dude played both ends of the court night in and night out. Don't forget he's 6-0 in finals and won 6 finals MVPs! And people wanna compare Lebron......lmao!!! Kobe is the closet ever to MJ

There is seemingly no end to this guy's athletic talent..... thank God for the internet.... I don't think the legend of Jordan will ever be forgotten..... really sick videos hoops. Ive been a fan of Mj's since i was a kid growin up in chicago, but your videos really take apart the intricacies of jordans game. I feel bad for the youngins who missed out on jordans best years. Im sure i speak for many of your viewers, thanks for putting all this together.

    hoopsencyclo, you're a good dude. I'm in awe of your compilations.
    i love the young clips of MJ. I never got to see 80s jordan live- he's up there with the fastest to have played in my opinion. But 80s jordan and 90s jordan are like two controlled his power. The 80s version was pure, unadulterated fire. so sick.
    anyways thanks

    Hoopsencyclopedia, dude your videos of Jordan are the best by far. This is the best video I've seen. Basketball= Jordan
    The man was defended by: Barkley, drexler, starks, hardaway, payton, kemp, dumars, dominique wilkins, majerle, Magic, Rodman, oakley, glenn rice, mitch richmond, rolando blackman.. owned everyone of them.. GOAT

  • @MisterBinx
    @MisterBinx 15 лет назад +1

    That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw that. I had to rewatch that part like 5 times just so I could try and remember all that he did in that movie. There are so many moves where Jordan does some crazy footwork to get a better shot. Like 6:22, where he gets that assist after breaking 3 defenders.

  • @Jmill32
    @Jmill32 15 лет назад

    The dunk at 3:03 is vintage Young Jordan. He used to do that move all the time, the lightning first step, 1 dribble eating up about 15-20 feet of space, tip-toeing the sideline where there is seemingly no room, elevate sidewards and back towards the lane, ball in one hand and dunking so quickly that the help defense has no time to get over. Classic Mike, the explosion just unparalleled before or since.

    Hoops: I know you call this an outtakes or a b-side or whatever, but its just as good as parts 1 and 2. The music has a dreamy, ethereal, light/airy vibe to it, perfect for the player who still to this day seems too good, too stylish, too perfect to have been real. It also matches his playing style to a tee. Another work of art hoops. I only hope there are about 200 more parts coming.

    Finally a vid that shows MJ in his early years, maybe this will stop the Kobe has a better this and that.....Jordan doing crossovers, hesitations which was harder to do back then, the only time you really got to show those things were either in transition or fastbreak opportunities, due to handchecking. Look at his speed and first step, unmatched today.

    I have a quick question. How many game winners does he have?
    I like last Pacers clips where he was avoiding the defender in mid air, very nice. And what's the black and white clip from? where he's playing with some dudes and a colored ball?
    Thanks for everything, can't wait on the next vid.

  • @hoopsencyclopedia
    @hoopsencyclopedia  15 лет назад

    Regarding game-winners, there is no official list. When that ad came about missing winners, MJ was asked how many he had made. He said he didn't know and the number that's out (25-27) was put out by his copywriter for his ad without research so they went with it. Depending on the definition of a winner, Phil said it's probably around 50 in one interview. But, MJ said no one has gone through each game to check so there is no official record. The internet lists are all non-official.
