      They are more than that, Handsome Dexter is Addison Barnaby Baxtor and 91shots is Gibson Jonathon Charles Lewis, they are the sole 2 positioned officers in the post of Director for SinduWorld who holds the tracks for all the old guys. On BMI/SongView which you can search music copyright license information they are the only credit on most of the songs listed as writers/composers, pete and bas are listed as performers on some. They also did frank and maury? i think it was the american one.
      I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and didn't care if they don't write since most artists don't and at their age its fine but seems most likely its all an act that originally started as a skit ( as SinduWorld started with skits and most of the old guys are part time actors with Imdb pages) that blew up out of hand.

    I think when they're writing for Pete and Bas it's a four-way collab because there is a lot of old school references in their Pete and Bas writing that I don't think these guys are going to come up with on their own. I think Pete and Bas definitely have some input on their own shit

    • @msliddy9744
      @msliddy9744 8 месяцев назад +22

      I was thinking the same thing. Pete and Bas use a lot of old English words that I doubt Nine and Dex can come up with. There might be some input, but I don't believe they totally write Pete and Bas' songs. It's never been a secret that they get help with modern lingo from their grandkids.

      @@msliddy9744I think these guys are definitely more responsible for the lyrical content and listening to their flow and word play, I’d say these guys have to be at least 70% - 80% responsible for the lyrical content or Pete and bas’ tunes.
      First guy sounds just like Bas, and I’ve noticed the recorded voice of Pete and Bas and the live performance voices of them is slightly different. The first guy “Handsome dec” had a satire comedy channel called “community_patrol”, where he would exercise a deep voice similar to Bas’.
      Not to mention Sindhi world (the creators of all the songs) actually put out an audition for “Frank and Maury” (the US counterpart), looking for old people who could lip sync and act out urban genre songs.

      To be clear: they are not signing for Pets and Bas. That is insulting like saying the Egyptians were smart enough to build the pyramids.
      Also, if anything, they definitely don't write all their lyrics. You think Pete is going to let someone write his story and history he tells? They have said, from the beginning, they write their own lyrics and their grandkids help them swap words in for modern slang. After six years of being immersed in hip-hop more any single person in here that they still don't know anything and are just bumbling around until someone gives them words and a mix? And anyone using the fact that live they have SLIGHTLY a different tone?! Are you kidding me? 99% of life music sounds different than the record if they are really playing. Now if all you know is pop music who use backing tracks for everything cause dancing and singing at the same time is hard, then sure, maybe you would think that.
      But hey! Maybe aliens made the lyrics and wrote the lyrics? Who knows?!?! I'm just asking questions?!?! You weren't there!!!

      @adamcboyd 8 месяцев назад +12

      Yea. People are forgetting everything up to this point like they haven't been doing this for years. Also, when these are the guys producing your music and helping you start your career in your 70s then yea, maybe you will have a similar sound but not because you're copying them but because you need to look at them, Pete and Bas, Northern Boys, PKH, Normal Pain (wanna say they write for him too?), and all the others running around in that crew? Nope. People are speculating and running with it.
      I also wouldn't be surprised if they used "grandsons" as a term of endearment and aren't actually related. But, unlike everyone else, I tend to try not to speculate.
      Edit: I could be totally wrong on the relationship aspect but you're talking two generations apart and only 25% of shared genetics. The fact that they display phenotypes of each other may be true but it is still speculation. My major problem with it is the voice. Do you sound just like your grandpa? What about your friends or your dad? Do they sound just like their grandpa's? Usually no and people aren't thinking beyond first blush about it. But again, I am just being a proper sceptic until I know for sure as opposed to just taking a side when I only have speculative, at best, and circumstantial, at worst, evidence.
      However, this doesn't mean I necessarily disagree with you. Just that everyone is guessing and then taking the assumptions of another person, who has no real information, as the gospel truth. I just don't live my life like that but I do know I also just explained every comment on the internet ever.

    Honestly think it's a case of Pete & Bas do stuff and get help and vice-a-versa. Some of the bars in this are bars I really wouldn't expect somebody that age to come up with, which makes me think that Pete and/or Bas came up with it. Same with Pete & Bas songs, there are some bars I think that either required explaining or researching for somebody that age. As I said before, it's one thing having a ghost writer, but pulling off smooth flows and transitions is much easier when you're writing it yourself (or at least partially) simply because you're 'in' the music so to speak. The song is fire anyway, regardless. Something a lot of people don't comment on are the beats in Pete & Bas songs, they're fantastic, there is obvious talent there and that shows in this track too. I can't wait for more from both of them and Pete & Bas. They're clearly a musically inclined family and that's great for listeners.

Like at 2:37 there's a reference to Cuban Linx, but either you missed it or did not discuss it. Those two were to only ones I caught on this track, but maybe there's more if someone knows, please comment.

It's always been obvious that Pete and Bas weren't writing their lyrics. That never prevented me from enjoying the music. And it still won't. I'll continue to enjoy Pete and Bas, the Northern boys, the snooker team, and now Nine and Dex. But it should now be clear to anyone, with average critical thinking skills, that Handsome Dexter (dex) and 91 shots (nine) are the visionaries behind the great music we've gotten from Pete and Bas. Dash, as an artists and a creator, we've all been there. :) Now is you time to be a Phenix and rise from the ashes anew. I honestly would love to see you make an attempt, and honest attempt to follow the New Grime Towne sound (my term for all the Sindu label music and the current emerging genre we are witnessing the birth of at the very moment) and push yourself harder than you ever have and do just one NGT song with Sincere. It is the natural progression for all of this: the couch, the music, the friendship, and I know you studying this shit and not just hearing it; you're listening. Take some time, think about it, and break the fucking mold. The key is to be calm and let the words do the talking. You're just the messenger; a vessel that the story (and there always must be some story) flows through.
    I'd be happy to chat sometime. Worked in TV and now own a VR studio. Hell! I'll scan both your faces and put you in the damn game if you want!
    Do this brother. I promise, if you stick to it and do it honestly, you will only succeed from this.

    I’m 💯 convinced… the Pete and Bas might perform it, but these guys definitely writing it!
    The cadences, inflections and even the production is virtually identical.
    AND it’s more than decent yo!😂😂

    • @adamcboyd
      @adamcboyd 8 месяцев назад +1

      Then you're 💯 wrong boss. Even if they spent a year with you, you would still sound like YOU. In your scenario, these guys write all the music, then sit and teach the words and phrasing to P&B who repeat it just like them but slightly off and then live it's all them? Come on man, think it through brother. (Some are saying they're not even rapping like they're MilliVanilli which is super insulting it a ton of ways.)

    • @emerj101
      @emerj101 8 месяцев назад

      @@adamcboyd aight man hold up, I said nothing more than what I have said. I didn’t say it’s not them performing, I LIKE their performances. And I can see they’re talented and well-seasoned performers. I read that one of them was an actor back in the day? That true?
      I just wanna hear the story of how it came to be! They wanna leave it mysterious…keep everyone guessing, that’s their prerogative. That just makes the questions more valid, imo.
      Also, it’s not “teaching someone how to sound like you.” It’s the structuring of their flows, how they like to switch back and forth with schemes and rhythms…
      And after the BARS I heard tonight from these dudes, I know they have the talent to ghostwrite from the POV of an ol Cockney gangster (considering one was a lawyer, the other a mailman.)
      Plus, they’ve admitted to “getting help” from their grandsons with their drill music so, I’m sure you have a better explanation for how they fell in love with rap?

      @emerj101 forget the acting. Bas has 5 credits on imdb, only 4 for acting, and all are shorts.
      The oldest 2017. The same year they started rapping 🤷‍♀️
      Basil Preuveneers is known for Age Cannot Wither (2020) (credited as writer, producer, director and performer of the music). 🤯
      James Bond Faces Sexual Allegations (2018).
      Facing it (2018)
      Over the Hill (2017)
      Positive Result (2017).
      Shut Ya Mouth was released 2017.
      Hardly proof that he had a acting career before rapping lol

    I think it's a given at this point that the writing sessions are a collaborative effort, but I don't actually care. Pete & Bas still got to perform those bars and we all know how fire they are on flow wise.

    If Nine & Dex are writing for Pete & Bas, at least it's their own people's.............I personally dont think they "write" for them. I feel it's more of a family gathering to go over some fire beats and rhymes 😊

    I don't think they're ghostwriting for their grandfathers, it's just that the beats they setup put all four into a very similar lane. Am I alone on this one?

    • @benweitz
      @benweitz 7 месяцев назад +1

      The writing seems really similar tbh. The way they come in on their verses, how they set up punchlines and the flow when they decide to double up is sooo similar they just collaborate on the writing for Pete & Bas.
      I get a feeling we all really they fans all along because the beats and writing are so good.
