I am Jamaican. I'll be sure to break down that Bas line for you. These dudes are ridiculously cultured. "One love when I am in Jamaica, I buss magnum when I wine and dance". "One love" is a term we use in Jamaica to hail people we love and to say it's nothing but fun and love. As you have heard in Bob Marley's song too. One love, one heart, let's get together and feel alright. "I buss magnum when I wine and dance." Firstly, a magnum is a condom brand, so he's saying that he bussing condoms to "wine and dance", In our culture if we "wine" with a girl we are grinding on them when we dance lol, but here is the coldest part! In Jamaica, we have a drink called "Magnum". It is a tonic wine. Mostly we drink it before we have sex to get more energy and vigor. Buss magnum - means opening a magnum bottle in our language and then he plays on the word wine to say that it's a tonic wine but also he is dancing with a chick. These dudes are f-ing different. Bars go over heads easy easy.

There's an extra layer here; in the UK they us the word University instead of College, and red solo cups are heavily associated with University parties. So the first line "I pick up a red cup like I'm out in U" is it's own bar about drinking like they are still in college, the Bas line "S.A out here low ride in the coupe" also works independently as its own bar(S.A vs ese), and altogether the lines have a totally different but still clear meaning "I pick up a red cup like I'm out in U.S.A out here low ride in the coupe". Just wild how good their lyricism has gotten.

One bar that I haven't seen anyone catch - Bas in the hook going 'plates of meat out / in the beach house'. 'Plates of meat' is Cockney rhyming slang - old school London stuff like 'apples and pears' for stairs, or 'trouble and strife' for wife - meaning 'feet'. There's a double on barbecuing, but also on Bas taking his socks off, which we would understand as an exceptional circumstance for an old English bloke abroad, a tremendous level of relaxation. (As Pete mentions in Generals' Corner: 'socks and sandals' is the image.)

Y'all have great chemistry. Would encourage you to lean heavily into bringing more of the "as a rapper, this is why..." vibe to your reactions. Not that many other reaction channels like that, and would be cool if instead of just breaking down "the meaning of the bars" gave a bit more of an 'education' of the art from an artists perspective. Then how whatever song you're reviewing does or doesn't do that well. idk, I would watch that and find it interesting. It can still be fun, don't edit out goofing around, but i think your audience would likely walk away with some knowledge at the end and a greater appreciation for the craft.
