wait, whoa I was literally looking for a tutorial like this last week but there were no good ones out there and you just made one! Thank you so much!!!! The jeff doesn't get too much attention online imo. You sir just made my day
Bring the SPJ pod. Don’t worry about fuel pods you won’t need them. It has pretty good range just off internal fuel. The SPJ pod will give you some range information on emitters as well as jamming capabilities. Another tip is to continually transmit ECM allowing you to get within 40nm for a high altitude shot of the target. If you want to do a pre planned attack. Get the grid of the unit from F10map and you can launch on it. If it shuts off it will still likely hit the target.
I can't believe I only now have come across your channel. I love the content and subscribing was a no-brainer. The formula you use in your tutorials is terrific. Its so good to see someone sharing the "where, why and when" to employ various weapon systems and not just the "how". When people begin to understand the actual functions of the airplane they are flying it is so much easier to bring that knowledge with them when they jump into a new module and begin the learning process all over again. Awesome channel, I will definitely be checking out every video you release from now on.
I subbed to you after I picked up the JF-17 and you've taught me so much man. Many thanks for these well-done, well-explained videos that I've rewatched and implemented with practice repeatedly for weeks/months as I learn this awesome aircraft. The JF-17 is such an underrated gem (and honestly I hope it stays that way) in an age where servers are filled with nothing but western/NATO aircraft usually. With that being the case, there's of course fewer resources to learn this thing but you became one of my fave go-tos and between you and Chuck's Guide I should be a pro with the Jf-17 in a year or so instead of 5 haha. Cheers!
I am just starting to really learn the JF-17, at the moment I often have a multi purpose loadout. PL5 - LD-10x2 - LS-6 - Fuel - LS-6 - SD-10x2 - PL-5 The SFW is of course amazing, but I think it is a bit too much drag to use with the dual SD/LD-10 launchers. Still very much a work in progress.
If you plan to bring a full load of AG don’t expect to hang out above airspeeds over m1. Cruise somewhere at 90% power or a good number is M0.86. Air to air the SD10 is almost like an aim54. Get up above 27k feet and loft them. You have to pull the nose up 10-15 degrees to loft your SD10. Launch above 0.9M
With SPI i think there's an area limit to which LD10 can adjust to the emitters, probably 200 ft x 200 ft or less. so if the tgt is further from SPI than no shack in active mode. try using A/G radar in offset and once you find the bricks/blobs try putting SPI to it as close as possible using radar zoom options. active mode is the only way you can be sure LD10 doesn't turn towards friendly emitters.
Depending on the range of the mission I will often take the SPJ pod centerline and two wing tanks. Or for shorter range missions SPJ and two GB-6SFWs pre-planned or use my radar to find the target location.
This is my favorite aircraft in DCS by far. I absolutely refuse to fly the F-16 anymore. Would it be possible to do a tutorial on how to use the ground radar or the AKG? I really haven't figured either of those out yet.
Love the Jeff, so versatile, if limited in loadout capacity. I've found you can use the LD as an ad hoc AGM with the targeting pod TOO mode. PL5 x2, LD10x2, SFWx2, SPJ, SD10x2
Great video! You da man! By the way if you ever loose your current gig, you can always apply for a caution voice over actor! Your imitation of the girls Tracking, Tracking etc was spot on hilarious! Hey you asked what we’d like to see & personally I’d love it if you did some Mirage 2000C tutorials! I love the Mirage but have zero clue how to use it well & some of the buttons etc are in French so it makes it even harder! Anyway, great video! Thanks for making it! I hope you & your family have a wonderful 2022, if I didn’t already say so! Thanks again!
Nice tutorial! I like to go in a "Ugly" configuration PL5///SD-10x2///GB-6-SFW\\\ TGP ///GB-6-SFW\\\ BRM-1_90MM \\\ PL-5. With this load out you can do SEAD with the clusters, and clean up the rest of the area with the laser guided rockets... and defend yourself from other airplanes.
@@TacticalPascalewell, it depends of how often bandits come to try to kill you, but in my case, being wise with the throttle, about a good 45 min of playtime. Yeah, i know at the beginning when I started with the Jeff also thought the autonomy was going to be a joke... but it surprised me! You can swap the TGP for a gas tank if there is a jtac in the area to do the lasing for you.
Always great to see a new Jeff vid :) Have you tried the IADS skynet script for DCS? Fighting against a network of SAMs is where the fun begins :) If SAM positions are unkown I recommend the the jammerpod. It will display the sam positions more accurate (but not perfectly) on the HSD map. My SEAD/RECON loadout: TGP / Jammerpod / 2x LD10s. Jammerpod for a better locations on the HSD map. Then I set an SPI via radarcursor on the HSD SAM icon and move the tgp over there.
I’ve found with the LS-6 under the CTRL page, you’ve can set OPTION to SNGL, SBYS, or TAND, and then from that “spacing” but I’m not sure exactly what that does. I think through SBYS allows you to have the bombs impact X metres away from each other centred around the waypoint, but no idea about TAND. When I tested it one of my bombs just did a 180 turn. Any idea how it works? Couldn’t find anything on chucks either.
SBYS is side by side deployment. So you set the spacing between them for a spread. TAND is tandem so front and back. Very useful on a group of units or sams. Also make sure you view your Right MFD to make sure the LS6 or GB6 is finished aligning.
I see you understand UFPC very well, could you do a full video explaining what you are setting up and how and when to use that? I know only basics (AP, DST, HNS a little bit). Edit: I am also interested to head more about that datalink you are settingup. Also, I see some white cones on HSD, and I dont have that on my jeff, so I would also like to hear more about that. Well, tbh., I wan't to hear all about JF-17. :D
thanks for the tutorial !! was a good one !! but why when i fire the LD10 it dosnt change to the other pilon for the next one !! it stays at the same one !!
I remember the Jeff having really ugly HUD reflections on its glass, when I trialed about a year ago, I dont see it in yours tho, was is patched recently?
2:32 That is a surprisingly accurate voice imitation ma'am, I mean sir.

Which module do you think is more effective at deleting a SAM site F16 with Harms and 105's or JF17 with GBU6 and its LD10s
Both equally effective
@@TacticalPascale Gah I need to pick one :P
At 13:45 you put SPI in radar screen. Do you do that with usual TDC slew and lock system of you use spedial key for marking SPI?

Minor typo, @Tactical Pascale: Emmiters - Emitters. That aside, a really good tutorial for SEAD in the JF-17.

thanks for the tutorial !! was a good one !!
but why when i fire the LD10 it dosnt change to the other pilon for the next one !!

Can't you set the SPI on the SA page? Seems a bit confusing to try and use the radar for that as you can't see where the threat is.
You can if you find the target with the radar
How do you know if a LD-10 is within range of a SOI?
Nice tracking tracking tracking voice 😂
