- Join us for our vlog from the opening day of the 2015 season at the UK's largest theme park resort, Alton Towers. We take a look at the new additions to the resort for 2015 including the Octonauts Roller Coaster Adventure, the new street entertainment and much more. We also take a ride on some of the parks classic rides, with plenty of laughs and reviews along the way!

I'm literally the only theme park enthusiast in my family and one of only a couple of RUclipsrs from Doncaster lol 😂 It's a lonely business but it's worth it for the best coasters and the newest rides and attractions
I'm going on August 12 2016 and staying in the splash landings hotel for my birthday which is on the 11 😂😂😘 but sooooooooooo excited I've also been in 2013 too xxxx

Tree clearance behind Sub Terra is apparently due to fungal diseases/tree protection but if it is they could possibly have more space to play with.

I think the tree clearance in the dark forest is probably for a new flat ride to replace the blade probably coming around 2016 and the other tree clearance is probably separate for SW8 for 2017. This is similar to 2012 when sub-terra opened and 2013 when The smiler came
There was also tree clearance in DF, that was apparently due to a tree virus, but now people are saying its a cross valley coaster linking the two.
Ahh went today. Amazing day! :D
The only coaster rides we didn't go on was Oblivion (I'm honestly scared of the thought of the feeling at the drop), and Sonic (Girlfriend doesn't like spinners).
We gave rides a score out of 5, meaning £'s we'd pay for admission:
Octonauts (First ride for a laugh) - £1
Nemesis (went on it twice. Once in the dry, and once in the rain on the same seat... Felt a lot more forceful in the rain) (In terms of this kind of ride, Infusion in Blackpool gives you more G's, and feels more intense than even Smiler imo - £4
Mine Train - £1.50
Smiler (Went on this twice too. Absolutely loved it. Only drop you feel is on the bunny hops. Nemesis actually feels worse in terms of force applied to you) (The front seat though feels more shaky than 3 or so carriages down) - £5
Rita (Went on this twice too. Haha, that rush at the start is great and you do get some airtime during the drops) - £4
Air (No feelings at all of any force. It just leaves you laughing. Still love it) - £3
If you think I can do all those coasters though, do you think I could do Oblivion? I've been scared of coasters with sudden drops after going on Revolution in Blackpool. I've never liked that drop. Does it feel the same?
This Vlog for me is upsetting because it was, for me, the last time Alton Towers was Feeling Great, then the smiler crash happened and so many people were fired, it's quite sad :(

Theme Park Worldwide I think Alton towers need to install more Flat Rides, and make sure SW8 is amazing
First The Smiler, then a few weeks after Sonic Spinball apparently crashed, and then they got criticised for having a 'Ride Me' t-shirt in the shop.. and now normal breakdowns are appearing in the news all the time.
The fried chicken co in x-sector is amazing... (drools like Homer Simpson) XD

One of my favourite parts of this blog is Chris’s horse impression.
Air is a firm favorite at Alton Towers, went on 3 times in one day before! good ride.
It'd make the Skyride journey much more interesting if there was a huge ride next to it :P
It would also be interesting if they removed the floor

At scare fest a few years ago their was a clown in the pirate boat car thing and it almost ran me over 😂😂😂😭😂

I'm not sure whether to go on nemesis or not?? i'm scared of going upside down and at the moment the only rides i've been on are air, 13, runaway mine train, flume, rapids, hex and duel and I love love all of them! i'm quite scared haha what should I dooo??
I you like air you won't be scared of any rides on park
Just go for it, you're perfectly safe and you can decide if you like it afterwards!
just try it because once you've done one up side down coaster, others dont look as scary
I wasn't sure to go on Nemesis because of the loop, I went on it now I love Nemy and Smiler :D So I would give it a try (This coming from a girl that chickened out of the mine train a while ago)
Nemesis feels worse than Smiler, but Nemesis is tame in comparison to Infusion in Blackpool in terms of force.
Nemesis is just pure fun though, seriously. Once you go up that massive lift hill, there isn't a sudden drop to worry about. You just feel a rush of adrenaline. Seriously, go on it :)
Once you go on that, you can do Smiler no problem
Love to see a wooden steel topped hybrid at Alton Towers but I doubt that'll happen... :(
I love Alton towers and really would like to see the smiled reopen. It is a great ride, just unfortunate what happened

I never got to ride the Blade, sadly. Alton really lacks flat rides, especially swinging ones now. There are none, which disappoints me as swinging rides and pirate ships are my favourite. Long live the great Blade!

Jake Brierley you queue up inside for a bit, listen to a short story about the ride, then get lead into the ride. its basically a big swing with a spinning room, its not a forceful ride but it messes with your head due to the spinning room

I reckon or at least i hope the next coaster at towers will be a winged one, like swarm at thorpe park but themed around Nemesis
To be honest, I think this new coaster will come in 2016. there's already tree clearance, the blade is closing THIS season rather than next, and even markings on the floor, it's probably coming in 2016. What it could be though I don't know.

Going in May! OMG! Also i took part in a competition and the winner gets to go to alton towers to compete with others and the winner out of thast gets their attraction made in the park :D i was part of the final nine in my school :D
Sinful Angel Productions We had out of all the girls who applied then a final nine out of that final nine one got to go to Alton and OMG they were AWESOME!

To be completely honest, if I ever go to Alton Towers I would turn down going on the Smiler, not only because I'd be scared but I just don't trust the thing, lol
Keighly W I get that u could be a bit worried but there is nothing to be untrustworthy of, the incident was a human error. I honestly reccomend trying it u will love it trust me and if you don't at least u tried.
It’s weird seeing all the different old comments with rides like ripsaw on here (even enterprise now)+Galactica being air. How wrong you were with the new coaster being in forbidden valley with the blade removal (I’m guessing that didn’t happen due to The Smiler incident), but I reckon wicker man suits the area next to mutiny.

Theme Park Worldwide Ahaha, just noticed the reply to this comment. Forgot all about it and don't remember what finding out about the reply! Bit of context, basically in Katanga Cargo my dad couldn't get some of the minions sweets out so shook one of the tubes (despite my mum telling him it would break) thinking it would be fine and accidentally broke it, millions went all over the floor 🙈funniest and most embarrasing moment of my life, we were wondering if you heard about it. They were taped up next time...
