      I believe this is the best farm in the game for damaged station rescue. There are multiple damaged stations around the witch head nebula and pretty much that entire area is federation controlled just doesn’t show on the bubble. I recommend going to Evangelis. There is a damaged relay and a rescue ship.

    Thanks for the video, I started with it but now I'm not only using Ochosi and Chakpa but doing a little 4 jump loop, which I think gets you more missions done (have not really measured it).
    Only do the station missions, no surface ones, and for "HIP 67882" only take missions to "Adams Station" the others stations in that system are too far away.
    You need a ship with at least ~25.5LY jump range.

    Can confirm this works in 2024. Currently using it. That said, I'd add these additional destinations and fly the route in the following order starting, then ending at Perry's Folly - Ochosi: Allen Survey and Volynov Base - HIP 67086; Chargaff Installation and Williams Dock - Chakpa; Adam's Station - HIP 67882. A Ship with 25.5+ ly range will make each destination in one jump. Be sure to grab any data delivery missions for these locations at each station. Pay attention to time bonuses when you drop into system, hit the priority stations first, and you'll make a few Mil along the way. Don't be tempted by the other stations in these systems. They're either planet-side or 15k+ls from the star, drastically increasing the circuit time of the route.
    Time context: I jumped in yesterday from a long break. Starting rank was mid Lieutenant. In roughly 4 hours (maybe 5) I'm 30% into Post Commander.

    For anyone looking for a decent way to rank up, travel to the Sol system and become allied with the Fed factions there. Do pirate massacre missions to Barnards Star only, and any other assassination missions that you feel like. Not the fastest way, but certainly more fun, and you get plenty of credits. Good for donation missions too.

  • @Praetor353
    @Praetor353 4 года назад +14

    I followed D2EA's guide to get started. The key is a triangle between the 3 systems: Chargaff and Williams stations in Chakpa, Perry's folly in Ochosi, and then Adams station in HIP 67882. Rinse and repeat, for a long time. I grinded Empire rank before starting this and it's taking a lot longer to do the fed rank even with 2x. I could get 20 missions at a time doing Empire and only had to go back and forth in 2 systems, yet sometimes in my federation triangle I stop at a station and there isn't anything. Randomly I'd find 10+ missions at one of the stops but boy this is a PITA and not even close to fun. I can't imagine trying to build rank organically in the game. Also the first 5 ranks or so fly by, but once you start getting close to the upper ranks they take dramatically longer to get through each one

      Another thing you can do is take plenty of credit with you . Do the first few ranks , build some money , then do a round trip and add the money up . Now , as you do the next round trip you will make that same amount again. Before you then do the next round trip , look at the board for any donation missions as they can be between 2 to 3 rep points each . So what you do is donate that money back that you made the last time around for extra rep points. Then do another round trip , bank the money , start another round trip , donate back the money off the last trip once again. Effectivley you make money then give back each alternative round trip which is helping toward your rep and ranks. ( hope I explained it right )

I'd also recommend taking any other data missions to fill up on if not mission stacking and waiting for the board to change, I've found this fast so far. This is legit in 2021, and was how I spent my weekend. I picked up everything I could and ranked up my Fed superpower all the way and am a few missions away from getting my Sol permit with Fed Navy jobs. Good times! Also as I allied with different factions, the money I got from these was anywhere from 60k-500km which ain't bad for a noob. Only a few enemies tried ganking me, and at that point I was allied and had a few ships chase off any pirates.

    For all those people after me:
    Depending on the Mission Board RNG, it may pay off to branch out to other systems within 20 LY, but you will come back to Ochosi and Chakpa.
    I think my average was +5% reputation per mission and those missions stacked nicely (even without relogging). Any courier missions that didn't give reputation, at least gave a decent money boost.
    Interdictions are a thing, especially with (up to) 20 missions stacked, but you should be able to avoid those rather easily.
    "Federal Navy ..." promotion missions refresh when you re-open the mission board, so no need to re-log for those,
    Did the grind in a Diamondback Exp. and was done in just a few hours.

Only disadvantage is Sothis is around 400LY out, which is around 40 jumps in a decently spec’ed Python. I absolutely disagree with this guide. It has two huge problems that make it very inefficient. 1) The data delivery missions never go beyond Rep++. 2) This guide has you going to multiple systems, rather than a consistent pair of systems, meaning you're spending more time traveling than delivering and ranking up. In short, having sets of missions that take you in different directions guarantees that you cannot optimize your mission-running.
    My suggestion: A Type-9 fit for about 512 cargo and enough hull plating to withstand a failed interdiction-and-rejump (you're gonna get bored, it's going to happen) then head to Ceos/Sothis as this pair still remains the best option.
    First, you have a large number of stations (i.e. mission board pool) all very close to the system star that will only ever send you to the other system. This streamlines your travel time. Second, if you take a large ship, the few stations/landing sites that are far from the system star or are inefficient to visit due to planetary landing are either indicated by the Horizons logo or are prohibited for large ships, so they're easy to avoid. Again, the goal is maximum efficiency.
    Why take a large ship, and a cargo-fitted one at that? You can grab multiple of the myriad of "Boom time delivery / Deliver X units to" missions (where the mission-giver supplies the cargo so you don't have to) that are Rep+++++. Fill out the rest of your mission slots with Rep++ Data delivery missions. If you see a decent Rep+++++ mission, but don't have the cargo space, take that mission anyway, and just leave the cargo at the mission-giver and get it later. Doing this, you'll reach a point where you can optimize which stations you visit so that you are dropping off multiple Rep+++++ missions, emptying your cargo bays and then picking up a series of queued Rep+++++ missions and filling up your cargo hold again.
    After working this out and streamlining everything, I ended up ranking up Rear Admiral faster than I did most of the earlier, easier rankings. It wasn't a grind at all, as I jumped in chunks of 20%-30% each stop because I was carrying a full slew of Rep+++++ and follow-on (chain-link) missions that reward a bonkers amount of rep. Yes, I'm saying that, without the double-rep bonus, I completed my Post Captain-to-Rear Admiral rank-up in 1 system jump that spanned a mere 5 station visits.

      The problem with that method is you are required you to have access to a ship like the type 9. I will guarantee you if I made a guide on rank grinding that included any of the bigger ships the comment section would be filled with people complaining you need at big ship to do it.
      This method can be done even by very new players.

    I did the Imperial rank first and I am glad that I did. I like most of their ships, whereas with the Federation I only care for the Corvette. I'm currently rocking an Imperial Courier for my small fighter, a Python for transport, and a Clipper as my explorer/ flagship. It's been a few months since I played last and I was trying to get the advanced FSD drive. Sadly I never did get it because I could not figure it out, and I simply did not have time. I'm hoping that I can get back into this game before Starfield comes out as I think I will probably like Starfield more than Elite.

      @fonesrphunny7242 Год назад

      Just don't make it the very first thing you do in Elite! Farm for about 200k Credits.
      This will give you a "stripped down" Hauler for traveling, D components, 2A FSD + some headroom for repairs/fuel/rebuy. Cutting the journey into 8-9 jumps, with only one fuel stop.
      It may be worth delivering data to other nearby systems as well, depending on what the Mission Board gives you. Some courier missions won't have the Reputation Reward option, but those tend to pay much better, quickly making back that 200k investment.
      Of course, a beginner would first need to know all this, and it certainly isn't obvious if you go into the game blind.
      Another thing to consider are interdictions. Those become very likely when stacking up to 20 courier missions, so investing into a more agile ship, with at least 18LY jump range, might be a good idea.
      Currently doing this with a Diamondback Exp and having no issues. At least 1 interdict per system visit, but I can handle it.

      @@lemon-le5lb You are lucky my friend! Sothis-Ceos is really good for ranking up. You can stack up 20 delivery missions easily. And a fun trick: you can do missions for non-fed agents, just watch for 'FEDERATION UNITE!' as the destination. In Sothis there are 4 stations but one is 3000+Ls (Sothis Mining) away, so if you don't want to fly there every time just avoid those missions in Ceos. But you should stack up every mission in Sothis, because Ceos has only 3 stations, and all of them are relatively close. There's a chance to get some easy cargo missions as well, so an 8 slot cargo bay could come in handy.
      Note: right now the navy rank system display is broken in-game and shows incorrect information, but in the notification tab you'll see your actual rank.

It was one jump for me in a 50Ly build, but it's a relatively small distance, you could easily google it. You could use basically any ship, and it's recommended to have 8 slot cargo. There are a few small amount cargo missions which will speed up the grind a bit.
      Edit: One station is medium, Velinski Enterprise, all the other ones are big. I think a DBX or an AX would be more than enough. And avoid Sothis Mining station, it's twice as far as anything else you will use.

    What's not so clear is why it's so important to go to that particular star system. I've got a lot of reputation with the Federation just from running missions in my local area, and it seems easy enough to pick up anywhere. I am allied and I am lucky to get 5 missions from Perry's Folly for any of these stations they have a ton of missions for other stations but they are 30,000+ ly from the system star and doesn't seem to be very fast rank gain. Same here, the Chakpa route is underwhelming, hardly ever get to 5-10 missions per loop; it's not what it once was, evidently. The Ochosi - HIP 67086 route (which works the exact same way) seems a little better, but still far far less efficient than the empire Manani-Ngalinn loop. Honestly, I'm about to go back to Ceos-Sothis, the cargo missions there give much higher rep rewards, so even if you don't get a ton of them, even a few in the end will be faster. Plus they also seldomly reward you with rare materials, which is always welcomed.

    • @kadatherion_
      @kadatherion_ 4 года назад +1

      Yep, I can confirm Ceos-Sothis being much faster: I'm an Admiral now (went all the way because why not), was only petty officer yesterday...
      The quickest loop for me was like this: New Dawn ---> Don's Inheritance ---> Brunel Hub ---> New Dawn (this is because while Don's give missions for both the other 2, Brunel often also gives missions for the close by New Dawn). Naturally, while there are also quite a few courier jobs that help, cargo missions are the star here, so the bigger your ship the better (I did this in a Cutter), but a full cargo Python is already enough to begin to see the results. Don't do more stops than these, as in-system trips are longer because of slow acceleration, so the loop has to stay tight: three stops like these are usually enough to fill Cutter anyway.
      Also, remember to not ignore missions given by non fed factions: if the recipient ends up to be a fed faction, then you'll still get the rep reward.
