Been watching alot of your pressure shift videos and working on them with transition. Moving the club up in my backswing with my mass where my hands almost feel like they’re floating during transition . It’s almost like a cheat code. Really makes the swing feel so athletic. Brilliant instruction by you guys.
Just came here to say I don’t play or watch golf, and there’s no reason for this to be recommended to me - but you’re definitely doing something right if the YT algorithm gods are recommending this to me.
I have watched so many videos talking about moving hip toward the target. But this is the first video that explained that that shift towards the target happens before your down swing.
I was taught to drive a stick shift transmission by the rhythm in my feet. Right foot up, left foot down then alternate together. A lot of what we do in life is about rhythm and we don’t realize it. Thanks for the insight. Love your training guys, it is immensely helpful.
I just ordered my downshift board last night so great timing on the video. The 10% off would have been a bonus but still good deal. This video will help me with understanding how to use the board properly and the feels I am trying to get. Keep up the great videos!!! Cheers ✌️
This is amazing stuff. I'm a ~3hc and I've been playing 25 years. I STILL swing centered and "get left" way too late. I can't wait to work on your drills. You're so right that you need to go down before you can rotate. But it's nearly invisible in tour players full swing. Thank you for this.
A major difference I see often between amateurs and pros, hope this works out for you! If I can be of further help, do reach out on my website, milolinesgolf.com.
Great lesson as always Eric. When I try and get more forward I thin and feel like I’m going to thin and also lose leg structure. Shaft gets very steep. When you do it it looks very natural and effortless
I’ve been working on this for a few weeks, started as an attempt to shorten my backswing. I gotten quite consistent with it but sometime get quick in the transition left and my amount of opposing “stretch” has been shortened too. Club still works to parallel at top of backswing but quite a bit closer to my shoulder that prior to this effort.
Milo, so just received my downshift board (used your code for 10%off, thanks👍. quick question: I mostly have use for it inside my garage on a runner-type carpet surface. When I swing an Orange Whip Lightspeed while using the DS board, I find that the DS board is twisting, lead side going backwards as I move into the follow through. Does this indicate that I am using it wrong? PS, I feel / sense like I am really having to press my lead foot into the board to get it going down on the lead side. If anything, almost like I am hanging back ever so briefly.
With the board, I'd suggest sticking with irons and wedges. You would primarily finish on the lead side of the board fairly stacked up, as there isn't as much backing up as there would be with driver.
Thank you for the video and the explanation on the board this is exactly what I need to work on pressure into right and pressure onto left early. Hard to miss if you do this correctly. Henry has really gotten more comfortable on these videos the 2 of you work really well together.
Hi. This makes a lot of sense, and reall enjoy the channel, but I keep hearing people say "dont move your head to the lead side in the downswing" Looks to me like this downshift move would tend to move your head ? What am I missing?
Just to confirm i understand...the max vertical pressure back on the force graphs is the end of the "fall and the catch" then from there (left arm parallel) you push up and away with lead leg...the max force into the ground is from the falling left....not actually pushing into ground?
Does the lead hip rotate at the start of the downswing (which creates upper and lower body separation) because the lead foot presses forward and diagonally? Or should you focus on that separately? Thanks!
Is this the Milo Lines show or the Zen Golf Mechanic, actually thought I was at the wrong channel, my bad, but wow even at half speed, Milo was still able to spin the board . . what do you have instead of legs, heavy duty springs, OMG, by the way you guys are looking pretty fit, keep up the great work.
Would love to see more of a deep dive on how the weight shifts in the downswing. I tend to get most of my weight onto my lead side at the top of the backswing, but tend to recenter as I lower the club towards arm parallel. Obviously you are saying to resist that. I am also wondering if the recentering from there to impact is a conscious push from the lead side when hitting irons. I know long hitters do it with the driver to give them vertical force but should I feel like I'm staying through it with irons?
Tom it sounds like what you’re saying is you have a reverse pivot in your backswing (upper body leaning left). If you can learn to properly trigger, run sway to the right then wind up, your trail hip will get loaded and your backswing turn will send your pressure left naturally.
Great info. This is exactly how Marcus Bell - Zen Golf Mechanic explains these swing theories. Are you guys familiar with him? He is becoming quite popular on RUclips.
Hi, I wish you could show us a transformation video. But what about the right leg, Whats it’s duty ? does the right leg push up along with the left leg 9:46 ?
Query- I love the analogy of a speed skater to demonstrate transfer of pressure from one foot to another. Is it the same in golf because the pressure transfer in skating is done with the inside edge of the blade not the outside. Transferring this anlaogy to the golf swing, does this mean that at impact the pressure is transferred back onto the trail foot by using the inside edge of the lead foot? I see so many pictures showing the golfer onto the outside edge of his lead foot pushing back at impact. What am I missing here??
When you down shift or fall to your lead foot, where do you feel the initial pressure in your foot? I tend to send it directly to the heel. Do you pressure the ball of the foot first then push with the heel?
Was with him until he talked about pushing off with the Rt side to get left vs “un weighting” the Rt side and falling into the left side as you rotate. When I push off the Rt side it causes me to slide too far and get stuck. That’s why I got a Downshift Board
He was explaining that the push from the right side happens as the player is winding up not in the downswing. There must be some push early to keep your mass from wandering rightward and recenter the player by the finish of the backswing.

Mate... your board is swinging the wrong way. Surely on the downswing the trail side of the board should push towards the camera if your weight shift is correctly timed and the trail leg is being used properly.
@@MiloLinesGolf See this, mate. ruclips.net/video/51FgKiZ4-qM/видео.html I know different coaches have different ideas. There is often times a little sway, but then it stalls and typically moves back a hair especially with driver.
Is that Henry working with you? Awesome swing!
Sure is, and yes he's got a solid swing!

Yes it’s from stopping the falling mass quickly
Does the lead hip rotate at the start of the downswing (which creates upper and lower body separation) because the lead foot presses forward and diagonally? Or should you focus on that separately? Thanks!
Yes Gabriel, as we land pressure into that lead side that diagonal force can help push the lead side back.

this is Zen Golf from 3 years ago. Marcus was ahead of his time. marcus has now has disks on his board to apply the vertical force correctly
Every time I try this the club stays behind and gets flippy and thin. Is that me moving too much mass?

Ball of foot
@@MiloLinesGolf Hi Milo, is the feeling more squeeze the ball of trailing foot or just move towards it (or both) Thank you for clarification.
How does the sequence differ from the driver or does it
It doesn’t it just becomes more dynamic
How do you avoid hitting it fat when you “fall” in the downswing?
Gotta match it up with wrist conditions and how you are powering the golf club. We have many videos on this and it's a common question.
Watch AMG or Zen Mechanic Golf (Marcus Bell). You stop hitting it fat by ‘rotating’ on the downswing as you ‘post up’ on the lead leg.
Love you guys but you are completely describing the Zen golf system. The board was developed by Marcus from zen golf.
Ha ha people have been using boards like these for decades if not hundreds of years. He has done a good job promoting them of late however.
This is Zen golf 100%
Not much new under the sun.
A great feeling to get this right is to think of your right hip being above your left hip at the top of the swing
Maybe, depends on how it’s created
