I hit it best when I have the feeling of my hands still going back as I’m rotating forwards on the downswing. If I keep this feeling all the way to impact = flush city. This video describes my feeling perfectly 👌 Years of being too “armsy” is hard to overcome, but I’m slowly ridding it from my swing
One of best instruction I have seen on youtube or anywhere. Took this to the range today and was so impressed. Cant go wrong with this, TY Milo, I got my game back :)
I like a lot. I like pretty much everything you do Milo. A gentle suggestion wrt baseball swings, take a look at JD Martinez swings. He studied a bunch of swings and decided to walk away from the hands with his left heel leading the stride. This spirals the entire left side longer before the left knee goes toward the target. Another feel is to have your right back pocket feel as if it falls onto the Left Flared Heel. This takes care of the Squat and Pressure shift all in one motion.
Sam Snead talks about “swinging into your left arm” in his book - Simple Key Approach to Golf - he states in the backswing the hands should only go back to 10 o’clock but the shoulders should rotate to 1 o’clock (if 12 o’clock was above your head).
I stumbled onto this concept quite by accident. I had a real problem of starting the downswing with the upper body getting "over the top". I was working on my lead hip starting the downswing more and that resulted in the feeling of my lead arm and hands staying back longer and feeling that "stretch". This got my shots much more on line and even a little draw at times! Now my swing thought is "walk away from the hands"!
Another good example of creating the stretch on the lead arm is a racquetball backswing. The lead arm keeps the connection vs the chest the same as the golf swing before the release.
I agree with the comment that the hands stay back during the transition of the baseball player because the left arm is bent at the elbow to start, and for the golfer it starts straight and stays straight. I understand the idea of the golfer’s hands staying back as the left arm is pinned to the chest during the transition, but this creates the feeling that the ball will always go right unless the torso rotation is so pronounced that the clubface may finally get squared by impact. Is this observation correct? Or do “the three right hands” square the face? Thank you and thanks for your athletic approach! -Ed C. Syracuse
Hi Milo, I wanted to clarify the step drill you showed. Last week the video you did with Ed he took a bigger step right then transitioned with a short step left. In this video there no step right and a bigger step left. Do you have a preference on which way to do the drill to get the feel of getting that hands back stretch. Thanks again for the information you share.
There are lots of variations of the step drills in this case I was focusing on the feeling of walking away from the hands in the other step drill we were feeling the legs work as breaks each way.
@@MiloLinesGolf now the challenge is translating that to feel to be real . With some of your less detail videos i had the wrong feels which weren’t real . confused ? 😊
My problem is I have been doing that drill so much that I feel like I need that step drill in my swing to free me up. I have been doing that drill for a while now with out a ball with the pump at the top how do I get my real swing more fluid with out the step and pump at top. My swing feels super rushed over the ball after I’m done with drills.
Hmm, I'd have to see your swing or you doing the drill to give you the best feedback. What pump are you talking about? I am not pumping my arms down here. Have you looked into my online academy? milolinesgolf.com
I really enjoy your teaching. I follow Moe Normans swing as taught by Graves Golf. Love the swing but the teaching gets a bit to position focused for me and I lose my athleticism…what I have left at 64. So I watch others such as you, Dr. Kwon and Malaska to get that “swing” going. Good stuff, Sir!
This is the big problem to explain what you have to feel in the downswing. At this moment i can't see and feel what you are telling us about the transition in the golfswing.

Most underrated golf teacher on YT. With this method you don't have to make a very big back swing. Most of us are not as flexible as the pros.
The flow and sequence is key.

This is great Brad!

Great video Miles! Extremely helpful for an ex baseball player. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! Will do!

Excellent demonstration of concept

The front on view of your swing in full speed really brought home all if your principles … more full speed please! Great video!
Glad it helped and thanks for watching!

one word; EXELLENT - Thank U for this video.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this!!!! Thank you!!😊

The REAL X factor. Hogan was amazing at this , Greg Norman and many others also.
Thanks Les!

Glad you think so! Thanks for watching.

You are changing lives with these swing concepts and feels.
You are too kind!
This is why baseball players catch on quick, they have the mechanics from their baseball swings, thanks for this great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!

The pump that you did for the pause at the top drill.
I used to think: "Athletic vs pretty." Now: "Athletic IS pretty." And, it's effective too! Just keep hammering it home guys. Well done.
Thanks!

I played baseball a long time and was a naturally good power hitter…it hasn’t translated to golf. This resonates…to bad it’s 0 degrees out. 😂
Grab some foam balls for the living room! Thanks for following along.
For me, the better I stretch the less I use my arms and pull the club. Creating an alternate power source.
Bingo
Check out Dr. kwon
Dr Kwon and I taught a golf school together in November.

dr kwon focuses on increasing swing speed vs shot consistency and accuracy.
