Every John Lennon album should have a version with all the production cut out. A real genius, beautiful voice and guitar work.
The best
Totally agree. The stones have done it on deluxe versions of albums and they sound better than the official release versions IMO.
Agreed. The JL Anthology has many superior under produced songs that blow away the released versions. 👍
i agree and also with his beatles songs
Nothing gets in the way of John Lennon and his guitar! 🎸
He's my favorite Beatle. RIP John.
He's my favorite Beatle named John.
John is the depth of the Beatles
Thank you for posting that, never heard that before.
It was on the JL Anthology that came out 1998.
@@thefonzkiss thankyou, I vaguely remember that release when it came out, but at the time I was raising 2 children and paying off a house, so it was beyond my price!
I did buy the ‘onceuponatime’ cd at the time, I loved it!
Love listening to a song in development…especially from this genius
Me too
Our eternal gem and beloved John 🕊 💫
Thank you KR for sharing this 💞 💕
So different! The tempo, the SOUND of the guitar even.
Love to here John sing like this He sounds so authentic.
The power of cleaned demos!
Brilliant and brilliance!
Love it! So fresh. I think nowadays big productions are not always the best version.
Wow! This really lets you see the genius of his songwriting.
Pure creativity
Lennon never had a #1 single in America during his lifetime except for this song.
It says Imagine was #1..?
@@PheonixClack In the UK, not America. As a single, it only reached #3.
Skvělé demo,miluji Johnova dema ❤✌️
The strokes made someday, influence of lennon 😊
That’s cool I can hear it in this
God bless you brother 🙏🤘
Beautiful
Genius !!!
Cause it's John
Thanks IA, clear sound!
As long as AI is used for the right thing, it is good
The Strokes made a career out of this Lennon riff...
Genius ❤❤
It sounds like a Nilsson song in this form. It also sounds a bit like "Sweet City Woman."
He was drinking with him alot
he was great.
he is great
I think this is better ✌️
Yes, richer
I think elton is missing
I would love to hear a complete unplugged version. Just the acoustic and the vocal from the completed track.
Wish he had released the album/single version with solo vocal rather than as duet with Elton. I bought "Walls and Bridges" when it came out, loved it and still do. Was buying Elton's albums at the time also.
Even though it went to #1, in my opinion this song would have been better without Elton's voice being so prevalent.
It’s not prevalent. People don’t even know he’s on it unless they’re told. It’s not a duet either, a duet is two people taking turns to sing. Elton is backing up Lennon’s vocal.
I learned to like the studio version as well. I apreciate Elton's piano work and harmonies specially. But man, the dramatic sax and mid 70 coke-ass feeling production doesn't fit In the beautiful composition I heard In this demo.
To paraphrase Fr Ted, they should have lost the sax solo 😊
Эта версия гораздо лучше альбомной, которая мне никогда не нравилась.
Walls should get an expanded release as there are a lot of demos and run throughs of the songs. Prefer the final take with Elton's vocals out of the mix.
Especially the ultimate mix, the ratio of the voices is even better
"truh" ?
Oh no, thanks for pointing that out, english isn't my first language
Needs disco!
Could this song having been kept out from the White Album ?
No. Jealous Guy was the song kept out of the White Album. It was called Child of Nature, but John kept the melody and changed the lyrics.
@@leonardhevia5452 thank you very much, Leonard 🤝
@@patrickbuzzo1970 You're welcome!
All too human
Excepting Plastic Ono I'm not a fan of Lennon's solo work. I think most of it (not all) is uninspired, poorly arranged and produced trash. Then I hear this and am reminded he's a genius song writer. I'm guessing it's pure inspiration, though I suppose he could have heard something that brought him to this chord sequence, rhythm and melody. Doesn't sound like anything else he's done and that's quite a trick after writing songs for 15 years or whatever it was at that point.
I think this one was inspired by George Macrae's disco song Rock Me Baby (I kid you not!)
Um, so where is YOUR song catalogue mate, or are you just your garden variety know-nothing critic?
It's one thing to not particularly care for some of his work, it's another thing to label it as "trash". Oh, and no, you didn't redeem yourself with your attempt at walking it back, if anything it just provided proof that have no idea what you are talking about.
“#9 Dream” says Hello! That track is on this album and miles better than this or most songs ever produced by anyone
@@094340 His song catalogue is silly little love songs.
@@094340 People are allowed their opinions. Much of Lennon's solo work is undeniably shabby. This doesn't mean he wasn't a genius.
Paul’s pissed because he can’t use this demo for another “Beatles” money grab….
Yeah, because Paul is really hard up for $$$.
CLOWN.
or claim any form of credit, shame not
Paul wrote Yesterday. John Lennon is dead.
@@v1e1r1g1e1 I think you will find he had help with it, or is that too truthful.
