A bientot. P (bisou - bisou)
Thank you for explaining the long and short vowels. Might I take it then, that "u" is always long, and "ou" is always short? I only ask because "everyone" says that there are so many combos in French, but if each combo is always the same phonetic, then Bob's our uncle, eh?
They sound similar but there is a difference in the phonetic sound of dessous and dessus. Type them into Google translate and listen closely to the pronunciation.
what the....au-dessous and au-dessus what is differences? why so close sound for something really important/ Imagine someone is in an emergency at under but you mean opposite.... Sur ou sous. same why must be so close to each other......
The differentiation between the sounds of au-dessous and au-dessus are so subtle that it always trips me up.
Yes a bit of a bas tard isn't it.
Same I literally sound the same saying either one🤦🏾
Sorry I have 0% comprehension and detecting any difference. I’m going to have to look for other sources. This is incomprehensible to me at this time

bonjour maam i have a doubt in my text book hor de is given as dehors please help me in which of them is correct
"Dehors" means physically outside whereas "hors de" is a preposition. They can both be correct depending on the situation.
What is the meaning of a gauche de in English
Good
Can we say *bisous* as bye also? Because alexa mam you used to say *bisous* at the last. Why? Can we say *bisous* as bye also?
Bisou is kisses not bye.
Bisous is an french expression to give a verbal hug to friends 😉

If it can help, lot of french people say « en dessous » instead of « au dessous » and always « au dessus » and never « en dessus »
Dessous or dessus sound the same.... I couldn't differentiate 😢
