    • @longbow6416
      @longbow6416 2 года назад +106

      It seems like thats part of the design. The more rigid and stiff it is, the more things will fatigue or crack, letting the rifle bend and twist looks to alleviate that. IMO.
      It's almost as if its less of a machine and more 'organic' in nature. Like an animal that will give it's all before giving in

    • @Finnv893

      Mkvine 1:46 it seems to be since the piston rod is part of the bolt carrier, and if the piston head gets stucked just outside the cup that holds it the bolt cant travel any further to feed the round into the chamber, you can also see that the rod is wobbling around cuz of loose tolerance

    • @DystruktoBoi1

      Ricardo Carter If this was a full auto model it will not fire out of battery since in has a sear that drops and allows the hammer to fall only after the bolt head is fully closed. Probably made for some wonky rates of fire though.

      Uniform Tango 74 That's actually very strange. It isn't supposed to do this by any stretch of the imagination. I think maybe it's an optical effect (considering the weapon itself is up to specs, which it must be). Even if a rifle is of the poorest make imaginable and is busted up, it still will put rounds somewhat on target (and not keyholing) at least at 50-100 meters/yards - unless its barrel is not only stripped of rifling, but "several sizes too big". These slow motion shots look like the bullet's tumbling like something shot out of a prison pipe gun would. Very strange.

      Аюр Санданов the 5,45x39 was designed to put about a 5-6 degree wobble on the bullet as it flies through the air, this allows it to yaw better when it strikes soft tissues or body armor. Same with the M16s 5.56 m193 cartridge and m855.

      that's called "fleet yaw". Happens to all bullets, regardless of caliber or aerodynamic shape. The bullet will yaw in flight for a short while before it stabilizes.

      The rifling would have to be completely shot out of the barrel for a bullet to come out tumbling....when they say AK rounds tumble, that is after they enter flesh....not in flight

      This isn't the most used assault rifle in the world, that would be the AKM chambered in 7.62x39 Soviet. The AK74 saw much smaller adoption, mainly in Russia and a few other countries that were part of the core Soviet Union (such as Ukraine).

    Just noticed in the slow mo the round within just 2 feet of exiting the weapon is tumbling end over end. So much for barrel rifling to product spin, to make the round accurate, as going end over end makes aerobatic drag.

      shijaschka the ak400 is the ak12 that was it’s pre production designation just like the first variant of the ak12 that had a thumb safety and folding adjustable polymer flat stock was know as the ak200 the ak400 variant was ultimately chosen for both the ak12 and ak15 as well as the shortened variants

  • @eugenederry343
    @eugenederry343 7 лет назад +10

    One reason is that the AK-47 is heavier, because it fires the 7.62x39mm round and the AK-74 is lighter, because it fires the 5.45x39mm round. I choose the AK-74 over the AK-47, because it has less recoil and it is more accurate at long range. The AK-74 has better stability in full auto, because the recoil is much lower compare to the AK-47.

    Why is the projectile tumbling?! that's bad right?

    • @FaisalAlmalki223
      @FaisalAlmalki223 9 лет назад +31

      X Maneuver That usually happens if you use really cheap ammo that doesn't use proper propellant "Mostly Yemeni, South Korean, West Phillipino, Black market Pakistani, and Croatian ammo"

    • @bshwkrec.7189
      @bshwkrec.7189 9 лет назад +54

      I would disagree, I think the barrel is to blame not the propellant in this case.

    • @FaisalAlmalki223
      @FaisalAlmalki223 9 лет назад +22

      X Maneuver Well, it might be the barrel in this case but from what I know those types of ammunition that I mentioned in my previous comment are quite inaccurate and usually when you review the slow-moving footage you will notice quite alot of tumbling and various movement inconsistencies. Always original surplus ammo or any high quality brand should be intended for use.
      But there is quite obvious evidence that the barrel is the culprit in this case.
      As you can see, he mentioned that the AK he shot in the beginning was assembled by Century Arms, if you don't know them, they are the worst AK vendors out there and their rifles are usually plagued by many issues either in functionality or form. A lot of AK rifles assembled by them have loose rivets and bad head spacing, and their barrels are usually really cheap in quality and come with hurrendous rifling that should be treated as barrel abuse..
      So, I agree that it might have been the cause of the issue beside of a lot of other issues that those Century ripoffs are plagued with.

    • @Olson323
      @Olson323 9 лет назад +64

      +X Maneuver Nothing wrong happens here, the tip of bullet is flying true, back is wobbling. this is how this ammo was made to fly, and it does it. it is made so that on the impact it will surely goes sideways, causing nasty bite. 5,56 was made same way at the beggining, but tumbling inside body was labeled unhumanitarian, so nato switched to SS109 instead of SS92. SS109 is heavier, more like "AP-ish" round, and thus flies straight, old SS92 did exactly same thing

    • @bshwkrec.7189
      @bshwkrec.7189 9 лет назад +59
