    • @tobasco224
      @tobasco224 5 лет назад +21

      Plastic is a shit you say? Well i can tell you why later wooden and metal stock was changed to plastic. In Afghanistan war metal stock was big problem for soviet soldiers yes its a folding stock but in a high weather temperature metal stock was so hot that it could burn soldier hands. With wooden stock was another problem is varnish coat which in high weather temperature was sticky as hell so soldiers just removed varnish from wood with knives. Thats why now all modern Ak have plastick folding stock.

    I really appreciate that you take the time to showcase some unique collector's pieces like this. Not just a rare AK-74 in the US, but in the entire world. Thanks for taking the time to cover what a lot of casual shooter videos don't.
    It's cool to see the very early/first production AK-74 features like the 45-degree gas block. Up until seeing this, there were really only even a handful of old grainy images of this particular AK-74 production run available around the web.

      Hes chillin with Putin right now! They're best buds it seems lol. Russia wants to sell AK's after they pretty much branded Kalahnikov as a thing, Idk if its connected directly with the AK-100 series though so we might now see "military" models. I do remember hearing a crap ton of AK74's are getting replaced somewhere & the leftover assets might get broken down into parts & shipped over here so if we don't get straight imports maybe parts kits.

    @gunwatcher81 8 лет назад +2

    I'm guessing this AK-74, being made in 1981 came into the US as a "dealers sample", meaning only a Class III dealer could actually own it. The import of full autos transferrable to civilians was cut off by the Gun Control Act of 1968 ( and domestic production in 1986 by the "Hughes Amendment"). I guess my question is now is this a pre-1986 or a post-1986 dealers sample? The only way it could be "transferrable" is if it was imported as a torch-cut "parts kit" and remade and registered prior to 1986.

    Thanks for sharing this beautiful rifle with us. Any chance you have an arsenal slr 104 cr? Would love to see a video on one. Also as far as 7.62x39 rifles go would you take the arsenal sam7r or vepr FM-AK47-11?

      vepr FM-AK47-11 all day. My buddy and I both recently got these. Built like a tank. Aresenals are nice, but for the same money why not go with a Russian AK?

    Just think, before 1986 one could import a fully automatic rifle from the USSR of all places into the US. Legally register it, and no crimes have ever been committed with something like that. Yet our political class felt the need to ban such things, while offering plea deals to felons committing violent crimes in the revolving door joke of a system we have today.

      We just can’t risk it with far right nut cases. We need more oversight.

      Artiom Beknazaryan doesn't know what he is talking about, and people upvoted him thinking he knew something they didn't. In the late 20th century there were plenty who were siphoning USSR property and selling overseas for personal benefit. Of course that would get you killed if caught, but frankly people were too busy starving to catch it all, and the USSR was already throwing weapons all over the world in anticipation of the Cold War bursting so a little surplus sprinkled here and there was not unusual. I've seen Russian weapons here in the US before.
