- (Left this up for when I was running Mike's sites - leaving up for now.) This is the band Hypercane, doing a rehearsal of Zeppelin's "Kashmir."
Mangini is guesting on drums. Gary Cherone is here practicing vocals as well.
Mangini launches into (imo) an extremely tasteful solo, nicely touching on several of his trademarks. This is completely awesome.
I haven't seen Hypercane live, but do support them at www.hypercane.com.

virtually no one is as well rounded on the level that mangini is. Doesn't mean they should stop practicing though.
how he incorporated the solo so well into this song is beyond me to this day. Mike is the GOAT

tommy1975 Gary Cherone “Extreme” was a special guest. Most of the show is sung by John Ridlon of Hypercane. Gary sat in at the end. You’d see more by searching RUclips for “Mangini hypercane”

i think maybe virgil donati could be technically as good as mangini. here is a link; see it form minute 2:30 to the end. about minute 3:00 there is something really awesome. anyway, dont make an idea of donati technichally only for wath you see in this video, but i think its a good example.

jeff monk Hey Jeff, probably not. I have the original Sony Camcorder tape. But uploaded this years ago, so the quality isn’t the greatest. However i did use the 16 bit setting for sound that night.’

Mangini technicaly is superior than bonham buuut bonham grooving is unmatched superior and because bonham plays behind the beat and mangini is too precise even i think that he plays a little after the beat
