You are correct, but it still does work as a weather barrier so it should be sufficient for what we are doing. It doesn’t snow where we live so we shouldn’t get too much moisture underneath it. I’ll let you know how it holds up.

The strapping on the rafters are called Purlins- they’re roofing framing members that run parallel to the building or eave. Plumb the door. Level is horizontal, plumb is vertical
This was a good build with excellent attention to detail from the beginning to the end. I am however disappointed that you didn't wait till late fall or early winter to start, as everyone else does. I could just imagine doing this build in pouring down rain, a snow storm, and then everything freezes as the temperature hovers around -5. So, good planning all around. Gonna check out the interior build.

@@buildersblueprint if you would have welded eyes to the trailer and would have used cross steel braided cables from left down to up right it would have been sturdier for travel. Because you used cold joints it can’t handle side motion . Vibrations on the road could rattle this house into bits.

living in a commercial duplex rental property I got with a locked in FHA a few years back. I finally finished the remodel work in the unit i'm in so it's time for me to rent this one out and live in a tiny home. what are your thoughts / experience living in this short or long term? It'd be a great construction project and save a ton of money.
In my opinion living in a tiny home is a great way to save money and live a simpler life especially when you can make passive income by renting out your home. Hope this helped. Happy new year btw ❤️

Hey thanks for watching. We installed osb with a built in vapor permeable which is not the best but does block a significant amount of moisture. If I could go back I would have installed a secondary barrier but we should be ok with the vapor permeable.

I'm not a professional window installer but I can say u did a great job installing the windows. However your not supposed to put flashing on the bottom of the windows as there needs to be a place for water to escape should any make it behind the flashing
I'm a professional window installer of 20 years and think you did an awesome job........a couple tips though, cut the house wrap flush with the outside sheeting, the spray foam doesn't stick too good to it or to the tape you used, just use the tape over the nail fin from bottom to top like you did. I would suggest putting the soffit on before you put on the facia tin so the facia tin covers the edge of the boards

That heavy ridge BEAM is not necessary- A ridge BOARD ties together just fine, the DIAPHRAGM holds the entire perimeter rigid. Using continuous DIAPHRAGM blocking keeps it secure, unless you’re introducing a LIVE LOAD on your roof. RAFTER CLIPS manufactured hardware and screws, you’ll have no problems.
We did not but we bought a brand new and they told us how much it weighed before buying it. We do plan on weighing it after the fact we’re hoping it doesn’t weigh anything more than nine or 10,000 pounds.
You ARE MISSING the primary moist stop PRIOR to installing the windows. Your secondary application is a good idea, but the FIRST pre-window waterproofing is critical.

You can run your whole tiny home on that jackery and not have to run wiring for electricity. I have a Bluetti AC200 with the same capability as your jackery,,except I have a B300 connected to my Bluetti for over 5k watt hours of storage. I hope I can find land to build a tiny home on one day. My set up is inside a 5x8 cargo trailer which is fine for me. Can’t wsit to see your community I may like to visit it when I retire next year

That osb board aka force field sheathing does not have a vapor barrier. It is a vapor permeable weather barrier.

I have a Bluetti AC200 with the same capability as your jackery,,except I have a B300 connected to my Bluetti for over 5k watt hours of storage. I hope I can find land to build a tiny home on one day. My set up is inside a 5x8 cargo trailer which is fine for me. Can’t wsit to see your community I may like to visit it when I retire next year
