Let It Be is a fantastic album. Love that she picked it and don’t understand why it’s viewed as a lesser album besides the fact that it broke the band up
Because Phil Spector took a huge dump on half the tracklist, and it’s littered with off-cuts.
Decent record, though.
Let It Be is an underrated album, and it honestly is top tier until the second side for me. Still love Ive Got a Feeling though
Some truly great tracks, but as a whole it feels very slight.

What made the The Beatles special was their ability to collaborate all of their individual talents. They were fed up with each other on Let It Be and they just didn’t work together like they did on previous albums. Plus Phil Specter probably wasn’t the best fit to produce this album and seemed to overdo it at times. It’s still really good though it just doesn’t live up to the very high standard they set previously
Sheer Heart Attack was basically MY album for years, but ultimately came to appreciate the complexity of Queen II more.

I like Queen 2, but I have to say my favourite of their 1st 3 is their debut
I like Sheer Heart Attack but I LOVE Queen, Queen II and Night At The Opera.

It's definitely one of their less consistent records and half of the songs are just ok. I don't think he loves it, he was also shocked probably cos really??? Let It Be??? Before Abbey Road, Revolver, Rubber Soul, White Album?
Pretty great songs all around but the the way they were packaged makes it kind of an underwhelming listen.
That Soft Cell record is a massive W. Soft Cell are incredibly underappreciated imo
I think, had Let it Be been the Beatles penultimate statement and had they released Abbey Road after it, Let it Be would be a lot more highly regarded than it is today. Obviously, Beatles didn’t plan Abbey Road as their last project, but it would have been a hell of a send off. That final medley just feels like them going out in a blaze of glory. ‘The End’ especially hammers this point home.
I mean does it really matter? Most Beatles fans know Abbey Road was recorded and made well after Let it Be
I don’t know. I see Let It Be as a fitting “epilogue” to the Beatles catalog.

Phil Spector ruins the album. It’s like their 7th/8th best album.

@@dannymurray1854 Interesting that you think it that way. I think that Let it Be... Naked is the truest way to listen to their output from the time. I cannot stand Phil Spector's additions to The Long and Winding Road, it drowns the song out and completely ruins what Paul wanted to achieve with that song. The only song I think Phil's wall of sound sort of works for is Across the Universe, but that's really about it.
Shout out to the early Queen records, in some way they're kinda underrated imo

Let It Be is pretty underrated I think, still not in my top 3 probably but still. Across the Universe is definitely the standout for me
Biggest miss is and always will be that Don't Let Me Down was left off the album. Let It Be is a completely burned out and shortened White Album. Don't Let Me Down could have been a pivot point which was desperately needed. Let It Be could have used as much Billy Preston as possible.
There's no such thing as an underrated Beatles album. They're the biggest band of all time, whose music is even taught in universities.

@@lukess.s I mean we could sit here and say that 0 Beatles albums are underrated because it's The Beatles. But in context a few Beatles albums which are not as good IMO often get rated more highly and shown more attention and affection.
I think Let It Be would be more respected if some of the production on certain tracks was toned downs slightly, and the tracks were reordered. Still a solid 8/10 tho

I like Animals, Wish you were here, and Dark side of the moon more than The Wall but it's still a fantastic album
GYRB is a stunner - but there's too much filler for my liking on the second record/disc, Sides 3 and 4, to make it a great album. It could've been trimmed down to make a phenomenal single album.

Hot take, Queen is a good band to start getting into music but as far as album goes they are not the best nor the most consistent band out there, specially for the 70s. There's a good reason why they are mostly known as a singles band, and honestly, that's good, there's nothing wrong with that.
