  • Just noticing in the comments that people think i didn’t listen to the whole album straight through. I did. I just think it’s not great. Djesse is not good even if it has 4 of em
This album was tough to listen to
    0.4/10 its that bad
    Really it’s more like a 1/10

    Jacob Collier has negative swag

  • @Robin-399

If Jacob was really a genius musician with a good ear, he wouldn’t sing.

  • @honigdachs.

It's perfect for the times we live in. It's kind of like an AI-generated image - glossy, twodimensional, uncanny and completely vapid, but everyone's convinced it's deeply profound.

  • @jrjoyce23

definitely the most high school musician video I've ever seen

Finally someone noticing what I've been thinking for years. Collier is Boring. He'll be an incredible college professor someday.

"I don't want to sound corny or weird" is pretty corny and weird.

I agree to be honest, sometimes I don't know what the hell I'm hearing from that guy

  • @RadiumX

Nah man, you're just saying what many are afraid to say. You can be musically "talented" and know all the music theory you want, but Jacob Collier really is the epitome of making music complicated for the sake of making it complicated. And the worst part is that his audience is just a bunch of circle jerking praises for how much of a genius he is. Is he incredibly talented? Undeniable. The guy is gifted. Does he make objectively good music? No. It really is just complicated sounds that attract a holier than thou audience that just enjoys feeling smart because they "understand" his music, or because it's written by a "genius" so it must be good.

This is kind of how I feel about Charlie Puth. I like the songs he writes and produces for others but I can't get behind his own stuff. He's so talented but I just can't 😭

He's making music worth having an opinion about, don't think I can say the same of you. The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. And you cared enough to make this video. Congrats!

“I always listen to what I can leave out” Miles Davis

  • @alleyway3215

"I think he's a great musician, just... the songs are not evident of that." Well said.

  • @Jabberwocky112

Jacob collier fans don’t make it better for him in the comments. They’re the same people that make music academics be outwardly hated by peers. As a music history grad, you guys are obnoxious as hell. This hoity toity “I’m better than you” attitude. Y’all talk about not insulting Collier, and then go and put down metal, punk, rap, and any other form of art that doesn’t come from an academic setting. Music theory and theoretical complexity only does not make good or even groundbreaking music. Look at Nirvana, The Clash, NWA, Mercedes Sosa, Ruben Blades. All insanely influential and important, none learned music theory or only learned it afterwards.

I was afraid of saying anything…I thought like 2 songs were decent

    The mark zuckerberg of music💀💀💀

  • @edsterrock

I read a comment about Jacob calling him if AJR went to Juilliard.

I think JC is an absolute genius anomaly of an arranger. And a mediocre at best songwriter.

  • @arunashamal

It is like that scene in Rain Man.. where he could tell you exactly how many matches are there or someone's telephone number, but how he has no idea how much stuff cost...

I think Collier is actually Ai.
