Excellent fix. Our good ole superduty has had a rattling drivers door for years and we just kept putting it off. Opening the celebratory beer right now.
Hey, I thought Id put my two cents in here. I have been fixing these for years with JB weld and various other hard two part epoxy. Use the slower drying version, it's drys out a little harder. After 6 to 8 hours file or sand away just enough for the door to close easily. Not too much or you'll wind up in the same boat. It will last a long time if your daily route isn't too rough. Cheap and easy. You may also have to loosen the striker with the proper torx bit ( I think it's a T40 or T45 )and adjust it to get everything perfect, but that's optional
This absolutely does the job. I used duct tape as it is more durable and can be pulled hard when wrapping making a very tight and long lasting fix. Thumbs way up Brian!
I wonder if u do this then add some clear nail polish/some sort of hardener w a tiny brush it will prevent the wearing of the tape? 🤔I will attempt on my rattling doors n let y’all know
@@bmkuehl74 well it is tape with a metal latch striking it over and over, I don't think adjusting anything will help metal from ripping tape. It works for a few weeks than you have to redo it.
@@tavarichMETTI this legit works, did all the doors on my Ford excursion, my Dodge ram, and my 2 buddies trucks. Massive improvement. ruclips.net/video/4XR-J7VTN80/видео.html
Troy Reynolds , if you look at the side of the door, the latch on the side may have been rotated, make sure it is in the up position before closing is the only thing I can think of
My FORD is a 1983 4X4 6.9 diesel. She's a runner. It's never let me down. Like a faithful old dog it fires up every morning at 4AM no matter the weather. 🇨🇦❤️🍻

Works well only issue is that it's slightly harder to open but still works
Why not clearance the striker mount holes to get a little more adjustment out of it?
I will definitely try this when I get home!
Switch the passenger side to driver and driver to passenger and it fixes it
Good job, thank you very much I have the same issue with my 2007 Ford F-150 and tomorrow I'm going to try your awesome trick, 👍✅
Luis Torres did it work ? I have a 06
Hey man, just wanted to say I appreciate you.
Eric Petty your welcome, help out our Super Duty Family
My 2012 doors rattle , flutter etc .. too. Gonna try this.
I replaced all my strike plates with the GM ones for trucks. Saw it on another video
Hahaha glad I ain’t the only one who did this. It works that’s all that matters
Thank you! You're smart
Works for about a week or so than the tape starts to shred and your back to the rattle
Brian D Howard try adjusting your door pins, the door clamp has to be hitting the tape causing it to shred

Thank you i appreciate my rattle is gone
FORD DEALER HAS A REPLACEMENT PART JUST DID MINE
Did it fix it? I want to think mine may be in the latch part on the door too.
@@feelnrite Yes fixed the issue I went and replace all of them, These trucks are 20 28 years old
@@CUSTOMWORKS7.3PSD I know, I have a 99 sd 250 with 224000 and still a good truck. I look at the price of new ones and I am just blown away.
What a thinking!👍
It works for awhile But then the tape starts breaking up and apart Darn! Then sticky stuff gets in there keep an eye out
My f250 -02 door will close only if it's locked, what's wrong ? Thanks
