great video....thanks for showing the remedy for the dust boot re-attachment....just goes to show...even the best mechanics run into "snags" now and then....cheers..
Use a slightly bigger cup so the boot doesn’t stick to the inside of the cup when you take it back off maybe? Need to do a whole front rebuild on my 03 king ranch suspension.
Hey man great video! I’m not able to get my but to climb the bolt for the ball joint cuz they whole thing starts spinning, any tips I’m using the OEM motor craft ball joint.
My Dana 60 coil spring super duty pops and clicks when the suspension flexes. Its gotten bad. Ive tried pushing and pulling the tire in and out but everything feels tight. If you drive in traffic some it will start pulling to the right when braking. Pads and rotors look fine on both sides. Any ideas?
I'm using an ORDRO head mounted camera. The audio stinks so I don't use it anymore 😢 www.amazon.com/Wearable-Camcorder-Hands-Free-Stabilizer-Included/dp/B08FDBB76K/ref=asc_df_B08FDBB76K/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=475811286124&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=5913486307629774678&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9033404&hvtargid=pla-1181766343647&psc=1&mcid=1b553ee2ff9330339972525372685249&gclid=Cj0KCQjwiYOxBhC5ARIsAIvdH52brgN0f16E-HapGVAYQMSoUjnS0Y-TYclIkY8vUMzJXvnrDiryXFYaAhIKEALw_wcB
Finally a CE course that had my total attention. Very good speaker and such useful information. I plan on watching it a second time to get this engraved into my brain.
Definitely. If a drop down bracket isn't installed on the driver side of the track bar then that will also make the truck wander around & drive like crap.
I bet you could find a cup or sleeve that would work out of most ball joint press sets like this one from harbor freight: www.harborfreight.com/ball-joint-service-kit-for-2wd-and-4wd-vehicles-63279.html?campaignid=12144811130&adsetid=117789282878&product=63279&store=52&gclid=Cj0KCQjwvqeUBhCBARIsAOdt45aJT2uXfs5cZtbR89Nad-IapOgu3hPczTodBl1s-WgsZ2VgKbgR4CUaAqGkEALw_wcB
Definitely. It could still have another issue like overinflated tires or other loose components. With the truck running in park, have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth and take a peek under the front to see if something is obviously loose.
Bigger culprit for death wobble too!

Oh boy, I run into a lot of "snags". LOL

Yea, exactly. Same thought I had.
Nice instructional straight forward, showed all issues with no BS rambling!
I think when I did mine.. I had to have an angled cup to drive in the ball joint.. 08' 350 dually..
Super helpful! I'm paying a pro to do it!
👍 Without the proper tools, it's almost impossible.
Great tip! It seems like that should rarely wear out!

Can’t wait until you replace the opposite side of that bar I think it’s a small metal rubber bushing great video
In my opinion the bushing was much easier than the ball joint. I had to cut my ball joint out with a torch.

Great Video. Thank you for sharing. Getting ready to do this. Looking for a press i can buy that will do it without the price of the OTC one. Haha.
Check your local parts house, Napa, Oreillys, etc. They probably have a ball joint press set you can rent.
The orange obsorber with bumps on it?
Stellar!
Awesome video thank you? What was the music?
Thank You! Can't remember, just something random off Epidemic Sound.
Great job thank you
Cool video. Nice video angles, are you wearing a gopro on your head or chest?

So if you dont have those cups is there another option? Would hate to spend money on something i will probably never use again
Replacement will be tough without the cups. Renting a ball joint service set would be a great option.
Use a big socket 😊
they said you should tighten the one bolt when the truck is on the ground.
Is this a reason why lofted trucks sometimes drive weird/sway/float on high speed?
Definitely. If a drop down bracket isn't installed on the driver side of the track bar then that will also make the truck wander around & drive like crap.
Can you elaborate more on this bracket? 2011 F350
Does the truck need to be lifted when doing this or can I leave it on the ground?
It can be done on the ground with the tires still on or you can jack it up on stands to get a little more room working on it.
What is that dodge (cup dye) for the press what cpuld I use instead

Very good
Which otc kit is that? Great video!
This is the set I have: www.amazon.com/OTC-Tools-6530-Service-Kit/dp/B000O1C396
@@raincitywrench117 Is that the "long reach" size or are they all the same?
Some packages have a plastic cup used to drive the boot on after pressing the ball joint into place.
What's the Orange bushings on frame chasy called in your video?
The Bumpstops or Jounce Bumper
Would this issue make the truck "walk"?
Definitely. It could still have another issue like overinflated tires or other loose components. With the truck running in park, have someone rock the steering wheel back and forth and take a peek under the front to see if something is obviously loose.
Could this be causing death wobble?
Definitely
It could. Do you have any suspension modifications? If so then check the alignment. Too much negative caster will cause death wobble also.
@@raincitywrench117 yes, 6 inch rough country lift
Ford Company need to pay us money we are driving Fords with to much problems
This job might be better left to a pro...
You can rent the ball joint tool but yea, not the easiest repair.
Destroy it and you will have no other reason but change it
Pretty much
