doing all the ball joints and steering joints as well as the axle seals on mine, you are a saint for providing all the part numbers. definitely worth a subscribe for these videos
My 2012 is currently torn down, doing the same thing, all new joints, links, seals and hubs. Also 2 1/2* caster cams to give it more castor to eliminate death wobble for good. Waiting ont a few more parts to be delivered before I can finish. In the mean time, cleaning up rust and painting it all.

Then tried for 1/8" more but nothing happened. I can't give a number but I'm confident that I achieved the 405 lb ft. Thanks! @@tritanium1
I have an older model truck says 04 but it has all the makers of an 03. I have leaf springs front and back. I have super loose steering and it’s to the point I don’t feel comfortable driving. I got the front wheels off the ground and tried shaking or moving every component. Feels rock solid in at a loss.
Sounds like the unjoints need replaced in the front axle(s). Does it walk all over the road? It’s not fun. When I bought my truck I could tell they had been chasing this problem. New everything in the front end. All but unjoints. Lol. The guy said it was better but not great. Whew man I looked like a drunk driver! Lol. Replaced those and man it’s tight. On 37’s and she cruises now!
Yea if I ever own another 03-04 6.0 powerstroke I’ll be doing a video on those. Pretty similar but some smaller details with those spacers and shims on those year trucks.

i have 46's on my 07 and a lot of lift. I'm fighting the steering wheel all day. some ppl say that it's the tires. i am hoping i can make it tighter somehow. i also have a few other questions about the motor 6.0
All I’m going to say is kryptonite… drag link, tie rod and tie rod ends. No sleeves to flex! Jam nut style. Absolute best! Use it, abuse it, their warranty is if you can manage to break it they will replace it
I’ve got an issue on my 2012 where the steering wheel doesn’t want to return to center. It is intermittent, but it gets real sketchy to drive when it does it. Almost like driving without power steering trying to fight the wheel and keep the truck straight
@@Twizztify yeah, they seemed free as best I could tell. I grease them every oil change. It’s the weirdest thing though, it just stopped doing it out of the blue. Probably change them regardless. It mostly sits in the driveway anyhow
I just did this on my 04 this weekend, installed a bluetop gearbox, and XRF ball joints and tie rods. Which style you like working on better the 03-04 or the 05-07?
They are no good! They have really gone down hill in the last 5 years. I’ve had multiple tie rod ends and wheel bearings fail prematurely. Warranty them out just to watch them fail again. OEM lasts the longest and is a superior product.
@@LeftLaneDiesels Hi. Great videos. Yours is the first I've come across even remotely addressing the track bar. I was just about to pull the trigger on all MOOG parts. 2 questions. 1. MOOG vs Motorcraft. My local mechanic says Moog is the best. But I keep reading that since they started making it china, it's crud. While it seems easy enough to do, I'm not a mechanic and I really don't want to do this again. So, is Motorcraft really the way to go even though you can't grease the fittings and it's made in china too? If so, in terms of cost, it seems worth a couple hundred extra $$ if I only do it once. 2. Does the track bar need to be replaced as well? and if so, can I just replace the ball joint and bushing? Again, I'm told locally, its not a good idea to replace only the ball joint and bushing. Thanks
@@LeftLaneDiesels sad to hear that, MOOG used to be where it was at, especially with the lifetime warranty. Such a shame Ford won’t put zirc fittings on their ball joints and tie rod ends.
I'm doing this right now with all Moog parts. I've had good luck with Moog and with 240K miles on my 2013 F250 I'm not about to spend the extra money on Ford OEM parts.

I wish you resided in South Carolina. You would have a ton of business from me alone. Thank you for what you do, I greatly appreciate it.
How in the good gracious do you torque that track bar bolt to 405 lb ft? (Honest question. I haven't looked it up online.)
I torqued my replacement using a 3/4" torque wrench. They are generally about 4 feet long or longer, so you can get the leverage.
I ended up finding a 8' long piece of pipe that I placed on my 3/4" breaker bar. "Give me a lever long enough and I can move the world" -B. Franklin Tightened it until it stopped turning. What are you putting on the parts? Grease?
What is he brushing on all the threading?
What brand is your red workbench ?
