How to fix your Keurig when all else fails! Try my Paper-Clip Trick if it pumps but doesn't flow!

I'll show you an easy way to fix your Keurig with just a paperclip.I thought I had tried everything and was about to give up when one last idea did the trick and I was able to unclog my machine and get it running again like new.
Be careful cleaning the brewer entrance and exit needles as they are very sharp!
My Keurig stopped working this morning without giving me any clues on the display. I thought it might be a pump or priming issue caused by blockage somewhere, but after trying all the tips I picked up from a couple of RUclips videos, it still didn't work. About to toss it in the trash, I tried one last thing and finally was rewarded with a working machine and a fresh cup of coffee.
Please use your owner's manual or consult with Keurig for proper care and maintenance of your coffee maker. The procedures I used may damage your machine, cause injury, death, or in extreme cases make your coffee taste like vinegar! ;-/

Hello, and thanks for watching! If you found this video helpful, please hit the subscribe button. RUclips is changing the rules soon, which will shut down small channels like mine, so I need to hit 1000+ subscribers to keep that from happening. Thanks again, Girlzice. 8-)

This was the fix! I appreciated that you went through the other things you tried, because that meant I didn't have to watch so many other videos, I could just pause your video, try the technique and move along with you. I would just add, to run some of the vinegar solution through a few times after your paperclip trick - with our machine there were a lot of coffee grounds the vinegar continued to flush out! Thanks 😊

I had the same issues. I have not needed to use the paperclip since I started doing this: Insert the K-cup, with your thumbs push down the k-cup to puncture the bottom first, then close the top to puncture the top second. This releases the pressure in the k-cup out the bottom instead of the top, which was forcing coffee grounds up into the upper water injector tube and clogging it.

    Awesome video!
And shame on the commenter who said you could have been done this in 10 seconds... It was very helpful to see all the steps he tried, because I tried them too, and I was glad to know some else almost gave up but finally tried the solution that worked. It's a testament to sticktoitiveness :)
This worked perfectly, but I needed to clear out both the top needle duct (as shown in your video) AND the bottom needle duct.
More and more, KCup coffee vendors are using cheaper KCup plastic coffee and tea containers.
Recently we purchase a generic brand from our local super market, and even before the clog, we noticed lots of coffee grounds in and around the KCup chamber (even a little in our coffee!).
I tried almost all the techniques the submitter did, but in the end, using a paperclip to clear grounds from both needle ducts fixed the problem entirely :)
By the way, we use a commercial B150 unit - was easy to hook up a line under our sink - and we hate filling up the reservoir manually.

    Wow. It's Still ticking....
I was ready to trash my 2.0.
Had already bought a smaller back-up model, cause gotta have my coffee.
Tried your technique before dropping the bigger better model down the trash shute.
    Saw nothing happening.
There was no removal of a blood clot; no clearing of a fecal impaction. (yea, i'm a doctor)
But after the procedure, the "nearly left for dead Keurig" was working like a champ!
I don't really know what happened or why.
    But, thank you.
    Very impressive paper clip therapy.

Thank you so much for this brilliant advice. I am going on 2 years with my first keurig and knew nothing of the de scaling process. When my de scaling light came on and my keurig just wouldn't work, I looked in the manual for the help needed, and went through the process but it just wouldn't push the vinegar through. It was trying, but struggling. I have been gently tinkering with it for 2 days and no hope. I came across your video and as soon as I got to the part where you put the safety pin in the top needle a light bulb went off. I went and got some thin wire I use to make jewelry (can be obtained at hobby lobby for pennies if anyone is curious) and I gently pushed it up into the 3 needle holes on the too assembly. It took a few brews with probing between each round, but by the time the fill light started blinking, my little keurig was brewing and pouring away like the day I bought it. Thank you so much for this simple but amazing advice. Saved my keurig and it saved me the expense of buying a new one. I will be doing a 3 month de scaling from now on! :)

THANKS A MILLION! Spent all day trying to get it to work but until I stumbled on your video here, no results. I unclogged every other port I could find, then you demonstrated the paperclip into the needle and whaaa laaa! Instant results! Took me all of 30 seconds! You saved me $150 bucks!! (and lots of headaches and aggravation). Genius!

I tried everything, and this is exactly what fixed my Keurig. Took a couple pokes with the paperclip and wiggling it around up in that top needle before it worked, but when the water came out, there was a little "pop" noise and it started flowing. Thanks a ton for this vid! Saved me $130 on a new machine.

Its a bit of a flaw in the design, you have a hollow piercing needle that water flows through and also punches a hole into the K-cup, when it goes into the K-cup it will pick up grains of coffee and will begin to over time plug the needle hole were the water flows out..Just by inserted a paper clip will unplug it....Our Keurig plugged up after just 3 months of use, we bought it new,,,

Girlzice Thank you for this great video! Unlike Vivian, I believe that it was very helpful to see all of the different things you had tried so that we could see that the problem was, in fact, the same one we were experiencing, and that all of the same methods we had tried failed for you, too. The bottom line is that, something I tried because I watched your video WORKED! I do believe it was that final step of clearing the K-cup needle. Unfortunately, there will always be 'Vivians' out there criticizing people like you, even though your only motivation was to help others (and free of charge, no less).

Darn, almost 3-years after you did this video, it is still helping Keurig addicts like myself man! My unit crapped out this morning, though it had been brewing inconsistent cup sizes the past week or so, and I knew the inevitable was coming. Similar issue happened a couple of years back with my first model, and I tried everything I could find on RUclips and eventually got this replacement from Keurig at a reduced price. Fearing the newer models which don't have good reviews, I really wanted to fix my machine but wasn't going to tear the thing apart like I had last time, order replacement parts, and so on. I did your quick paperclip trick and the darn thing started working again! Hallelujah!

I tried to take that bad boy apart but it was sealed in plastic. After watching the end of your video I could even see the grounds clogged up there, who knew! Have a great weekend my friend, you certainly made ours!

You sir are pure genius! I did everything except the paper clip trick. Keurig works better than ever now. I thank you and so do the other addicts in my house. You have helped to reestablish sanity in my household!

Yup that was it. Watched a few videos before yours but this was the fix! Thanks for the wisdom. I loved how you walked through all the stuff I had watched before in a calm and equally frustrated manner just to share this tip. Blessings from a happy wife and a happy husband who had no idea how to fix something again!

Before my morning cuppa, there was no way I was going to clean the dang Keurig, but mindlessly looking at videos on youtube was doable. I watched another video that declared it was the EASY way to fix it, but it had way too many steps for me pre-caffeine. Then I watched yours. I have a toothpick.... it was worth a try. A couple jabs, a few seconds to preheat, and voila, coffee. God bless you.

Thank you--I had my doubts but it worked! Enjoying my coffee as I write this! I appreciated seeing what didn't work for you, too, since I think I've tried about everything else.

As I sit here finally drinking my coffee, I want to thank you for your video. I watched a few before this one and tried a few different things and nothing worked till I poked at the top of the keurig like you showed and water started flowing. WHEW WHEW THANK YOU

Like so many others, we were ready to chuck our Keurig. We thought it was the pump and, while trying to get to it, we lost a screw - it fell inside. Really frustrated now!! Watched this and it works fine now. Just ran vinegar through it and hubby is making coffee. Thanks so much, except I was already dreaming about the mint colored Keurig. Maybe next time.

Soooooooo.... I was just going to order a new Keurig because mine was doing exactly what yours was doing. My husband insisted in fixing it and couldn't. I was already checking new models online. Thanks to your suggestion, my 5 year old Keurig will not go to the trash. It worked!! I used a hair pin because I didn't have a safety pin and it worked just fine!! Yey!! Thanks!

Just wanted to say...thank you Girlzice....my NEW Keurig was having trouble getting the water to flow through so I did the 'descaling' idea with the vinegar and I'm sure it cleaned the machine, but it did not get the water flowing again. Trying your trick with the paper clip was ingenious and worked perfectly....thank you, thank you, thank you. I thought my Keurig was dead and now it's running like new again. :) Kudos...

Incredible! My Keurig was barely pumping out any water and basically went through those same steps you tried before coming up with the paper clip. WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whew!I spent almost 3 hours trying to fix my keurig 2.0 watching multiple videos and was unsuccessful. Was ready to give up then I saw this video and lo and behold! It worked! Thank you so much!!! Can't survive without my keurig!

Your advice was much better than calling Keurig. I feel that when you call they tell you that there is nothing you can do to fix the issue and they offer you a 20% off to get a new machine. I didn't give up and tried for the last time and I made it work again. Thanks.

This worked! My Keurig 2.0 is less than a month old and stopped flowing. Looks like coffee grounds plugged up the hole where the needle that punctures the top of the cup. Used the paper clip and cleaned it out and it's working great. Thanks for the tip!

THIS WORKED! I can't believe it.
My Keurig had suddenly stopped working. It was flashing "descale" and would only offer to brew the largest size - but it wouldn't brew at all; it would not pull any water (or vinegar, for that matter) into the reservoir. I tried various methods to fix it including cleaning the water intake parts, turning it off and on, leaving it unplugged for a few hours, then a day, then a week, and I had even tried the paper-clip method when my Keurig first stopped working, but I don't think I was quite aggressive enough. Watched this video...Shoved the paper clip into the needle a few times (again), plugged it in, turned it on, and presto! Thar she brews! Thank you!

This is exactly what the Keurig telephone line advice suggested to do. And it worked! So if they recommend it it probably won't damage the machine. I have used it twice now, about a year apart, to unclog the machine and it then works like new.

Thank you! Paper Clip Trick worked like a charm on the first try. fPoked the paper clip into the hole, ran the small cup, water immediately stopped backflowing into the water tank and came out as normal. Then ran the medium cup and then the large cup and all is well...thank you again!

I noticed this video is a little dated, but this just saved my Keurig! I just took my old Keurig out of storage because ironically, my Mr. Coffee stopped working. Wiped residue around spout and reservoir, nice and clean. Tried turning it over and smacking it a few times, made sounds but hot water was still running back into the reservoir. The paper clip (or in my case, safety pin) through two holes near the K-Cup puncture pin worked like a charm! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the video.. It worked. My keurig would get the water boiled and I push the button and nothing comes out. I wanted to throw it in the street because I was frustrated with it. So I got in RUclips and just maybe there would be someone in this world that has had this problem. Well it was you.. lol. After using a paper clip and going up there. I pushed the button again to brew. It came out!! Yayyyy thanks
