Oh boy, Rumiko, she's a bit of an... interesting figure in the industry, to say the least. Basically, ~90% of all romcom/comedy tropes in anime today can be directly linked back to her or her influence. Whether you like that or not, it is a fact.
@@Jazmur_Reacts Not necessarily a positive though. On one hand, her comedy is legit fantastic, otoh she invented the tsundere (With Kyoko being the prototype and Akane cementing the archetype), so there's some give and pull there about how positive or negative her influence is.
oh Rumiko Takahashi, the queen of all womens in Japan, pretty sure she has more influence than the empress herself. She has won every prizes there are to win, and created so many manga tropes that most if not every mangas to come out after her use Something from one of her works. She is so influencial that we are still getting new adaptations of her 70-80 works right now (Urusei Yatsura and Ranma), and the hit of today are still referencing her too (the whole Ranma trope in Dandadan).
Really enjoyed this one! Not quite retro, but I think you could get a lot out of the openings for Studio Shaft's Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. Easily some of the most unique visuals and great rock songs. There have slowly been more reactions to it popping up, but it's just not enough. Also Happy Holidays!

Ranma 1/2 was the first anime I saw uncensored. Little Date is one of my favorite opening themes. I like Dancing Star from Urusei Yatsura as well. The ending themes for Ranma 1/2 and Urusei Yatsura are also worth listening to. Especially the ending themes for the movies Urusei Yatsura 2 Beautiful Dreamer and Urusei Yatsura 4 Lum the Forever.
Mobile Police Patlabor (Kidō Keisatsu Patoreibā) is an absolute CLASSIC of the Mecha genre. The manga started running in Weekly Shonen Sunday in March of 1988 and ran all the way until May of 1994. EDIT: As someone with perpetually dry skin, I cannot extol the value of moisturizing enough.
you mentionin reallz liking the design of Kiyoko of Maison ikkoku kind of reminds me, how different Rumikos Characters used to to look like. Since ranma, basicallz everzthing kinda looks the same imo. Nice reaction!

You know maison ikkoku is a seinen because the girl is not overly sexualized to appeal to horny teenagers. I think that's what makes her even more attractive than a lot of female anime characters
Aw man you have no idea how much it pains me to say that I watched Chainsaw Man while it was airing, not because I didn't like it but because I can't do a first time reaction on the channel, I honestly would have had such a blast checking out the Endings for the series, Kickback too would have been such a fun first time reaction, but Opening 3 for csm is one of my favourite endings of all time easily, such a chaotic and fun ending 😅

You should react to space runaway ideon's opening. It's one of my favorite old school openings but it's a very niche anime no one ever talks about lol

Ataru is a notorious skirt chaser. He dreams of having harem, but his feelings for Lum surface when they are seperated.
Lum uses electricity. Her cousin Jariten uses fire.
