Bacillus anthracis is a gram positive, rod-shaped bacteria. It causes anthrax that can be deadly in many cases. Let's review this pathogen, its properties, and the pathogenesis. In part 2 we will discuss the disease Anthrax and its management.
In the talk today, we will look at clinical signs and symptoms, therapeutic approach in light of CDC recommendations for the prophylaxis, treatment, and vaccination for the cutaneous, inhalational, disseminated, and gastrointestinal anthrax. We will also review the labs and imaging recommendations, differential diagnosis, and prognosis.

I got the Anthrax vaccine in 1991 in the Army. I was in the hospital for two weeks after with a high fever and hallucinations. They told me I had pneumonia. I don't remember much of those two weeks, I just remember they had me quarantined.
And the hallucinations come back from time to time under stress, no?

If you survive and somehow recover, look into post traumatic narcolepsy symptoms. These have been life long ever since. Damage to hypocampus and hypothalamus was the result. Continued fatigue, muscle weakness, memory problems and excessive daytime somnolence. Life changing at the optic chiasm. This contracted in the hospital! ❤️😇

Back in the 70s in my microbiology class i grew anthrax...freaked everyone out..they shut the building down and thenprofessor grew it out and thankfully it was encapsulated....and no one got sick but it took a while and i missed out on a lot.
