@@OddSauce I think both, art style and character designs could be said since both go into the same point in how the characters look haha. I also said that there are some character designs that look fine but thank you for clarifying that 💜
Tekken 8 story is fun, but it doesn’t have treasure battles, no other game modes and a greedy customization and battle pass. Treasure battles gave me stuff to do and unlock. The dlc for 7 is fun, the dlc in 8 is boring for season 1
The thing is 7's customization is worse overall. The only thing it did better was the mixing and matching of certain clothing types. But you had worse items and less customizable parts, like no default hair color change, no eye colors, no shoes, the clothes didn't fit as well, no adjustable accessory placement either
In my opinion: there should never be a point in a match where you can have a lead and get sloppy and not get absolutely humbled. And with both players having the same tools available and one blows everything early only to get uno reversed because they got complacent. I think that's good. There are still staggers, whiffs, and block frames, so it's dropping the skill floor and raising the skill ceiling at the same time
Not to be that guy but PWGF=Perfect Electric God Fist is actually 13f with the whole motion done within a single frame essentially or at least the f-df+2 if i remember right. This is only doable by Kazuya in T7. EWGF=Electric Wind God Fist is done from a crouch dash or if there's multiple of them it's called a wave dash and it's 14f with only the df+2 needing to be pressed withing a single frame. A WGF=Wind God Fist is just any df+2 input done withing a crouch or a wave dash and has no strict timing but by far is worse in every regard to the previous ones with PWGF being the same as EWGF in every effect but the fact that it comes out a single frame faster which only happens cause of Kazuya's unique mist step that he gets from inputting just f--n=Tapping forward and releasing as n= Neutral input so no buttons being pressed or held for a few frames

Tbh, this was actually a tough question because I use to not like Tekken 7 but after playing Tekken 8, I appreciate it T7 a little more. One of the things I really hate in Tekken 8 is the trash microtransactions practices. We shouldn't have to pay for costumes like Jin's T4 hoodie. Especially when the customization in Tekken 8 is really lacking. I get having DLC content in the game but it's execution is not good. Gameplay wise, Tekken 7 feels more fulfilling than Tekken 8. Like I enjoy Tekken 8 but there's no denying that the learning curve in the game is way easier. The only things I would give Tekken 8 props for is the story mode, content, and visuals. As much as I enjoy Tekken 7 but I can't lie, the visuals just look rough in my opinion. Overall great video bro! 🔥🔥
Eh, Tekken 7 costumization was already pretty garbage with quantity over quality with most of the pants and shirts being copypastes with different logos or colors, even the full body costumes were just different color (normal, silver, gold) and they called it a day. Tekken 8 on release had more customization variety than that and most things look good. I just don’t know why some of the hairs are noticably lower quality than the others. I take paying a few dollars for the few pieces i like over free recolors. Old costumes shouldn’t be payed dlc though, that’s just disrespectful to their own franchise. But at least we are only buying cosmetics now, unlike Tekken 7, where we had to buy frame data for practice mode as dlc. To this day they didn’t come up with a bigger bs than that. The battlepass is bs though, i can only excuse it because they are not raising its price and i just bought it one time and i can buy it again with the currency it gives back. Tekken 7’s gameplay is more fulfilling if you take your time to get good, they just went the SF6 route with appealing to casuals. Tekken 7 was around 2k players after a month and stayed there until the end with the exception of Noctis release. While 8 still has around 6-8k after a year. Of course these are just steam numbers so we don’t know the whole story. But their tactic seems to be working. Both Capcom and Bandai seems to be going for the “screw the old players, they whined about all our games when they were current anyway so lets bring in new people with accessibility and visuals” route.
