I know it's a lawyer's job to be creative and use whatever they've got to fight their client's corner, but "I cut my finger off" is a figure of speech. It means this injury happened to me; it doesn't mean I cut my OWN finger off, as Rottenborn is seeking to imply. If your leg got broken in a football tackle, you'd say "I broke my leg" - only a madman would assume that meant you took a mallet to your own leg.

There’s even scientific research that shows that helping drug addicts off the streets and into rehabilitation programs is very effective and improves society as a whole VS demonizing them and not helping at all.

I'm glad to hear from All of you. And though it's very sad I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one who's taking a long time to heal. I've been in therapy for 12yrs (7-8 different therapists, for a while I was seeing 3 a week) I've been on meds for the last 1 1/2 yrs so I can finally(such a gift) get some sleep 2-3 nights a week. I really appreciate you all telling me your stories and showing me/each other support. It's so comforting to know that somewhere in the world there are other people who understand. My love, best wishes, and respect to you all. Keep speaking out. You never know who it may save. 💪👵✌️

Part of the issue is Depp was wasted during many of the times he’s being questioned on so he doesn’t remember anything.
My pet peeve is that Depp will answer “hmm, I don’t think so,” and the lawyer will quote from the UK trial Depp saying “I dunno, but it could be” like there’s a functional difference and he’s caught Mr. Depp in a lie.

Yep I had the same and still feel damaged to this day. My ex mentally tormented me for 12 hours straight, saying what are you gonna do hit me? Do it! The rage I felt inside was like no other, I took out on myself by taking insane amounts of valiums (which I'm addicted too now by the way), and locked myself in her spare room for 2 days to keep away from her until I could get a flight home..all the while she came in and was stroking me asking if everything was OK, and she loves me, and went about her day.

Even worse than my own mental scars, my daughter now has no real chance at a successful future because of my ex and NOTHING I ever said to people was listened to. They attached to her false allegations like blood attracts sharks. Even the police at a critical moment agreed her commentary fell flat and upon inspection there was zero evidence of her accusations. THEN she tried to manipulate a court judge who saw through her but I STILL ended up with no justice while she went on to get all the benefits she could and then deny my daughter an education without any recourse or challenge.
The system can do one. Glad JD is able to have strength and capital to bring this into the public consciousness maybe in future things will find more balance and rationality. May he move onto bigger and better things and get the vindication he deserves that many of us will never see.
I've dealt with NPD and BPD relationships in my life, yet strangely I don't align with Depp, and I also can't say that he is some innocent harmless guilt-free victim deity neither.
