Great video. We have been approved to enable this functionality for just a select few people (I know....). We're having a challenge getting it to work fully for just a handful of people. It seems if they get invited to other meetings set up by people without the transcription permissions, then no one can start the transcriptions. I bet it's a simple fix but wanted to air it out here.

Hi Chris. Is there a way to put these transcripts on word with the names and time stamps on it as well. When I converted the vtt file to a word file it just included what was said but not the name and time when it was said.
YES. A program I use for all my YT videos is called DeScript. You can upload video or audio files. I use descript for my Closed Captioning on all videos.

I tried to search more detail in MS but nothing mentioned :)
Leo, is this a video call or a meeting? Make sure it is a meeting, and you should be able to use transcription. If it is a video call, which is being in chat, and clicking the video camera, transcription doesn't work.

Ugh ... I don't see any of those things when I try to find them. I even contacted Teams support and they were supposed to fix it but so far nada. :(
Are you using Teams family/personal by chance? Possibly they don't have this feature in that version.

As of the year 2023 you can use Transcription in Meet now meetings. I've just tested this ;)

Yes, they go together. When you click Record, it starts along with the transcription.

Please note that Recording Tab is hidden for my organization. However, I was able to view live transcription. can I still recover the transcription?
I was on a Meet now call today, the person shared their screen and i could see they were transcribing the call. They never told me, very sneaky
I always get a message the meeting is being transcribed. That is interesting.
Can you control who can access the transcription?
There is no recording and transcripts in call series, how to add it in recording
If you are in a meeting, and do not see Start Recording, your company may have turned if off.
