Dude, this is a fantastic review video. You covered all the bases and answered a lot of my questions. The only issue I have is that when you are demonstrating its light intensity, you already have another light on the tank before even turning on the Tuna Sun. Preferably the tank would be completely unlit first and than turn on the Tuna Sun only so that we can see how much it lights up the tank. Also more info on how well it grows plants would be helpful. I'm considering getting one of these on my 18" cube. Will that be too little or too much for that size tank?
Nice Jacob, these reviews made me wanna invest in Kessil lights and throw out the other stuff. I was going to get Metal halide lights but the heat and power consumption is a real negative. It seems like with these lights i dont need to worry about all the little things (or big) . Seems like they are woth the price and very hassle free.
is there any difference between the Kessil A160WE Tuna Sun and the Kessil A160WE Tuna Blue LED light or is it just the colour ones blue and ones green?
Great show Jacob. Just subscribed. ;) I'm in the process of getting a 55 gal and want to make it a planted tank. Would 2 of these lamps be sufficient enough for the tank? And if so, would they be good enough to grow baby tears?
Eddie Martin It will depend how deep is your tank. Each covers 24 x 24 inch area, Let's say you tank is 4 feet long and 2 feet deep, you will need at least 2 A360WE. 2 A360WE + 1 A160WE should be enough. If you tank is less than 18 inch deep than I would say 3 A160WE.
One 160 may be fine, but you'll likely have a lot of shadows. Also, it depends on what you want to grow. You should probably avoid planting light-demanding flora, on the perimeters of the tank, (unless the light hitting those areas is unobstructed by driftwood, rocks, or tall plants). I have a tank that's the same size as yours: the ADA 60-H (45). I use three A80s on that tank, and enjoy having control of where I place the lights. Not the cheapest option though.
Three may work, depending on what you're growing. Also, for such a deep tank, especially if you're growing light-demanding plants, you should consider three 360s instead.
Freshwater? I don't mean to bash them but it seems like if I buy a kessil I'm going to put it on my reef to grow corals? Just wondering but you have a nice freshwater tank
Trey L I know Kessil makes spectral controller which allows you to control multiple fixtures connected via link cables. Spectral controller has 2 channels in case you want to control 2 set of fixtures differently.
I thought it was a good review! I really like the Kessil Leds! I have two of the Amazon Sun LEDS and they are great. I liked and subscribed to see more of your videos!

This light still looks pretty bright even with intensity set to the lowest setting.

do you still have your 50g planted tank?

Different color temperatures. Sun is warmer and is meant for freshwater; blue is... well... blue and meant for saltwater.

JacobsAquarium how many $399.99 one's do I need for a 75 gallon planted tank to light the whole tank?
Could I use this on a nano scape, but toned down? Or would it just not be worth the money?
I am gonna replace all the T5 HO with the Kessil LED lamps.
ok i got some aqua soil and i really like it so far
Jacob do I need the 239.00 one or the 399.99 for a 75 gallon planted tank? how many do I need?
You need at least 3 of either fixture, maybe 4 Tuna Suns or 3 of the next one up.
On what size of tank do you have the kessil on? I got a 24x18x18high tank and was wondering if 1 would be enough.

I have a 210 G tank (72"x24"x29"). How many of the a160We tuna sun will I need?

im starting a planted tank and its a 120 but i need more information in plant type and substrate plz help me
Aj Van Egeren Sure, what would you like to know?
Noise?
should i go with gravel or dirt
Aj Van Egeren I personally would not recommend dirt. If you can use aqua soil or carib sea eco complete, thank would be best.
What is the kelvin rating on this light fixture?
+Elle Ziehl It depends. You can tune it to many different kelvin ratings.
what size tank is that?
is this fixture compatible with the controller?
