- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today Kosmo and I are using our new red farmbot capturing vehicle to perform some experiments! A lot of people have been asking if red bots can be used effectively as mining tools for harvesting rocks or trees so today we decided to test this theory and see what happens! @darealkosmo

kAN the farmbots can destroy the rocks. What you need to do is get him next to the rocks and then capture him, you will need to place your lift on the other side of the rock and raise it up 8.94 blocks. You will then need to proceed to go three chunks away from the area, once you are here you need to make a dash to the closest Warehouse. After this you need to quickly kill a tapebot, put down a bed on top of the dead body and mark your spawn point.
After the spawn point is set you will then need to go back to the farmbot and get him to swing at you once, if he shoots his gun at any point so far you will need to restart to the beginning. once he swings you will need to go apx. 42.069 blocks away. After that you need to spin around STOP, double take 3 times- 1, 2, 3. Then PELVIC THRUST, stop on your right foot DONT FORGET IT. then you need to bring it around town. (Note: if the farmbot does not shoot at you with his chemical gun by the time you finish this you need to restart)
Once this has been completed you will now need to proceed to go up to the farm bot and have him kill you, you will respawn at the warehouse, at this point you need to remove the bed and have an explosive tapebot kill you. Once it kills you, you'll have to leave before you respawn and join back quickly. You will then need to run back to the farmbot. When you get to the farmbot, if it has not been raised 0.87 blocks exactly into the air, you will need to go back the the tapebot bed step.
At this state you can remove your lift and must sacrifice two Wocs to the bot gods and bring over a encrypter. You will need to drop a 16x16x16 block of metal 3 with the encrypter on top of it onto the stone. At this point the farmbot will turn a slightly lighter shade of red. If this does not happen you MUST make a new world to try this again. If this does happen you can move onto the final step
While the farmbot is a slightly lighter shade of red, you will need to go kill 84 farmbots and return to your base. At your base you will need to gather all the metal you have and let the farmbot destroy it. This will enable the encrypter causing the block of metal 3 and the stone to not be able to be broken. you will then need to get the farmbot down to 1 shot until death and at this point it will swing at the stone causing it to take slight damage. you will than need to repeat all of this 12 more times until the stone breaks into smaller parts.

I think the reason red bots can break small rocks when they are running over them is they have a drill on the bottom of them and they mine them!

They’ve changed it, it didn’t used to be like this. Do you know what this means?
You can make a wall of solid logs, and it would be invincible!
Rather than making a wall of warehouse keys, destroy the trunks of big trees and take them to use as fencing.
Or you can die a lot with one item in your inventory death packs are invincible and have a weldable point so that means you can make a invincible wall
tried this before, the bots one hit the logs, turning them into the refinable pieces of wood
@@shadowchrome_5226 Lol yeah, I tried this after watching the video and found that out. To be fair, they DID change it, they just added extra stuff to stop people using it.
Either way, it was a fun way to mine a few big trees. (Gotta make sure the bots don't hit the resource rods tho, they destroy those too.)
Should have tested if they can break large trees that you've already felled, might work similar to how the stones needed that initial break. If that works you could make a powerless sawmill.

you forgot to catch a red guy and drive over the broken rocks. that is the best use case i can think of for this

You need to establish a woc pen. As wild wocs spawn they will be drawn towards your, then you can harvest them for steaks and make Baguettes.
How to mine rocks with red guys:
1. explode red guys on rocks
2. Make a different red guy chase you over the pieces.
3. Profit
What about using the explosions when they die to blow up the rocks? Loved the vid ;)

When you weld redwoods onto something else even the small bots can destroy it!
Farm bot doesn't crush steady rocks, but it does the fragments. So why not cage the red bot into the warehouse keys car, then drag him to walk over the fragments only?
i have a challenge for you kAN, make a car with delayed controls...
but not only that, half the time it gets the control output mixed up and switches them
Zoo for bots, entire enclosures made entirely of Warehouse Keys. Maybe name the boys, and keep them as pets.

I believe the red bot and all the other bots use the same damage system as the hammer to not allow early mining of later game resources where as explosives, drills and saws use a different system to allow them to damage these resources. Sorry for lack of punctuation

so you could theoretically make a red guy grinding pit to process down all the wood and stone bits, before the processor makes them into blocks. Which then begs the questions how to transport the stone to the red guy pit
Like I suggested in Kosmo's comments, I feel like the feet function like drills and the arm like a saw for calculating the interactions, but if it isn't command locked, there's just a really low percentage chance of it even inflicting a hit, but like saws and drills interacting, it still has a hit point beyond the toughness. So even if it hits, it may only be 0.01 hp of damage.
Or they're just treated like overpowered hammer swings.
But the feet on stone is very "drill like."

I realized that the farm bot thing was from the last video but you just removed the car thing to catch farm bots and put a rock
Pin the farmbot on top of fallen trees and rock chunks and it might be worth it cause of how quick it might be with his twitching legs
Actually, based on how the numbers governing the game are in a large part random, and governed by electrons at the near-quantum scale, according to the multiple universe theory, you did successfully cut down a forest, as well as let the red bot escape, multiple times.

Idea! Make a tank that capture a tapebot inside a warehouse and see if it despawn when you drive it away on the trailer outside.
red bots literally have a drill underneath them, look for urself

The Farmbot will shoot you if you stand on a different heights than it's current position, so ofc it will shoot you if you are on the lift at full height.

That haybot arm that got stuck in the truck happens to me all the time, it gets slightly annoying at times usually it happens when you run them over at full speed though
As a developer, it's not "trigger". Smart thing to do are damage types.
You have physical (CQB, fall), drill, saw, chemical, survival (drown, hunger, thirsty) and explosion.
Much easier, than saying what can destroy what. That's why explosions are working and slashing is not.
Main benefit with system like this is that you can add another type of damage relativaly easy. For example "fire" which will be able to turn bots into candles.
This is only theory, just from watching how it behaves. I'm not saying that, this is how it works.
Now question is... does "fall damage" have impact on pieces which needs to turned to unrefined pieces? 😁
I have some recorded video on my pc of 3 Totebot's ignoring me and helping me breakdown the smaller mining rocks in my survival world, they did a great job
If you are looking for a new vehical idea you could try making a harvesting vehical with 9 vacume pumps leading into three chest with room to put the full chest. I made one, it easily kills heybots and totebots as well as harvesting 9 large chest worth of various stuff (lot better way of getting paint flowers).
Taunt them on a regular basis haha
You should get the remove fake trees mod from the workshop
Might I suggest dev mode for experiments? It is no longer a permanent change to saves (at least for me it isn't, saves keep reverting to non-dev mode after disabling. Latest public build) and the sledge can then break big rocks and trees (even though the game still prompts that it can't). Would of saved time rather than fetching the bobcat (which I think you guys may of left behind with the Farm Bots)
you should try rotating the farm bot with the key vehicle and see if it's the red bot's feet that cause the rocks to break and see if that breaks big rocks
why when /< refine the arm he looks like he's shaving he's beard even though he doesn't have one

You should try to put your driver's seat on 6 pistons and fully extend them when you drive. I tried that once; just once. It does make for a good viewing platform though, I have passanger seat do that on my miner.

You guys should make a turret mounted to the back of a truck that shoots potatoes and is automatic
Because u can weld the rock chunks I believe u could weld them into a huge carpet after mining several nodes and then drive over it with the truck

Farmbots shoot when their target is above them, because then they couldn’t attack you when you are above

i have idea for ur "untra mega" farm, use water cannon go up water will be split 3 and you'll get more water on land, and then u do not need too much water cannon for this. and use sensor link with cannon, move sensor slowly wtih cannon

Well thechnically, bots target specific parts they want to hit (including player) so they have to lock on the tree and AI recognise it as a obstacle between bot and player, so red guys CAN break big rocks and pines (big trees), it's just really hard to trigger them to do so (for rocks the easiest is to find one you can sit inside), is it effective? - NO, is it possible - YES!

Hey man, I realized what you were doing wrong. You actually can make him do damage to rock formations and trees. All you need to do is get the quantum fluctuations to line up perfectly with those of your own player. This can only be achieved when you reach maximum terminal velocity on both your latest vehicle, the test subject Farmbot, and the targeted resource. Make sure that you go 88 miles per hour (in a game that tracks KM) before you get to the resource and maximum terminal velocity. I hope you see this and try it because it didn’t work for me!
I feel like they shouldn't have tomatoes in their toolbar anymore now that they have all that work put into their kitchen
