If they don’t replace Carlos by the end of the year Stellantis is finished. It doesn’t matter what he does he’s lost the confidence of Wall Street, the UAW,the public and most importantly the management and hourly employees. Why can’t the Board of Directors see it and cut their losses now?
I can see that when Tavares got hired he went to the BoD with a plan and told them, "Look, if we follow my plan there will be some hard times ahead, but if we stay on course when the dust settles we'll be in a better position than everyone else'. Also, look at Jaguar's decision to go all electric. Seems like it's killing them now, but they didn't go in without a plan and without knowing it was going to hurt.
The Fiat side of the house is still growing strongly, it's only the North American market which is an issue. That said NA is their biggest and most profitable market, so who knows. My guess is that, like any board, there are factions and there is likely a poison pill in Tavares contract that requires a board super-majority or some such.
In my estimation, Carlos Tavares is criminal here as his role of CEO of Stellantis! Are WE going to let him destroy our CDJR BRANDS? Frank B. Rhodes, Jr should make a hostile takeover of Stellantis! THE MAJOR PROBLEM is that TAVARES wants to build EVS ONLY!!! It is suicide folks!
Automotive mergers have consistently destroyed brands. Bottom line, an automotive company needs to stay in their home! Because of mergers, reliability, quality, and legacy has gone down the sewer.
Ford is hardly doing fine. Product quality is pathetic and their pricing is as bad as Stellantis. There are thousands of F Series trucks and EV Mustangs rotting on dealer lots. Farley needs to go and CDJR needs to be turned over to an American owner who understands its customers. Kramer is a Wall Street expert? LMAO! I wouldn't touch anything in this industry with a 10-foot pole.
Agree, Ford is a mess! I recently had to replace my older Ford F150 which I loved (rusting out) . I looked at Ford and could only get a ecoboost v6, they had no V8's in inventory even across the region. They may offer the v8, but you have to order and no V8 in a King Ranch. The had nothing nice to choose from in inventory -all blacked out wheels and just horrible colors and interiors. Plus my local Ford dealer service advisors are always full of attitude. I just had enough of Ford. I looked at GMC but didn't like the angle look and tailgate. I ended up buying a 2024 RAM limited. I love it. Too bad Stellantis is going down the tubes. I figured I would get the 5.7 V8 since it is now gone - I don't want a hurricane 6. I may have made a mistake buying a RAM, hopefully it isn't a lemon.
I was a Ford Power stroke guy for years. But each new one I bought seemed cheaper built than the last. Ford and Ram have no clue who their market is anymore when they slap a 100k sticker on the window of a truck. Hell, it wasn't that long ago when I bought my kid a base 2 door Wrangler for 30K.
The Dutch don't like muscle cars, they like e-bikes... Stellantis buying Chrysler never was a good fit. Europe is all about EVs right now but they have public transit that works and a population density that allows people to live with just mopeds and bicycles, unlike North America where we have thousand mile highways.
Why do people never learn, stop asking the government to get involved. Once they do they don’t stop, it’s up the consumer to stop buying in a free market to put a hurt on Stellantis. The government pushed the EV stuff on people that they don’t want and now the manufacturers are having to raise prices to compensate for the loses in EV.

I'm a v-8 guy, but if dodge/Ram make a serious inline six, I'm ok with it.
Dodge slant 6 was indestructible. Ford 300 6 also great. A straight 6 is a lot easier on the mechanic also.
ok i saw a car like in your opening friday & almost said to him can you stop & pop your hood why i want to see your engine design , why ps i have a 2006 dodge its a real doggy v8) to this gm v6 truck i driving I tow stuff with it ok thus-day i ste food shoved camping gear in dodge suv & up the hill i went ps at top i turned around i not driving this crap to the state camp area over 3 hours away if it made the trip at all? this is a bad idea the white chevy truck did for 35 dollars to fill it & less then 30 at home later on made it really!
