Hello from southern England. Since I was a little boy age ten yrs old I have had a passion for the weather. It started when I was transfixed to a nighttime storm looking out my bedroom window Back in 1980 / 81. I can remember this storm like it was yesterday , it was a violent thunderstorm which scared the life out of me but I still couldn’t stop watching it nonetheless. This particular storm I saw pinky red lightning also blue, the thunder was incredibly loud in which the storm lasted well over an hour. Thank you for your video. It was great to see and the formation of the clouds at the beginning of your video. I have to say, I have never been to America and just wanted to comment on your housing estate which looks beautiful and well kept 😊
Im in southeastern ma, the marine layer destroys all severe storms that come toward me to pretty much any time we have a risk of severe weather it ends up being a rumble of thunder and light rain 😭😭 and the storm prediction center always draws that line on I-95. Same goes during the winter, North of 95 12-18 inches but I-95 gets the rain line and we get like an inch that's get washed away. Absolutely do not recommend southeastern ma for storm lovers, wish i could move 😭

Not the first time i saw a severe thunderstorm that bad it causes sirens to go off
The first one was June 29, 2012
I've seen clouds like that here kinda. But they were not like a derecho but it was a shelf cloud. I've seen a good few of them this year
My grandma tells me that anything comes in from the north, we’re in trouble.
Great 'Storm and Great video.
Our tornado sirens sound different than there's I think everywhere they different
Love storms
I heard sirens like this before but it was for the fire department
I was born with the same almost I was born austium spectrum disorder I pretty much like the weather I have a faschion with storms
Which part of Illinois was this in?
This isn’t in Illinois. This is in Eastern Iowa.
This is a great video
is this a tornado warning or thunderstorm?
Thunderstorm.
They have warnings for derechos now?
No. There are only Severe Thunderstorm Warnings issued for storms like this, but they’re classified as a derecho if winds are strong enough and it extends hundreds of miles.
I had that but no sirens and power went out and there wore 40 mh per hour winds
after Ian in '23, (150 mph winds) 70+ mph winds wouldn't scare me
Sounds like the sirens in Saint Louis County
So much grass and no flowers😟
These storms usually last about 30 minutes to an hour.
I remember when this happened
Do you know where this is located at?
Sorry but I can’t say the exact location where this is because of privacy reasons. I will say this was in Eastern Iowa though.
