Your capture of the massive tornado is truly impressive. The lack of narration is especially appreciated. I wish more chasers would focus solely on tracking and filming the tornado without commentary.

Thanks for watching! A mobile doppler radar (Doppler on Wheels) near the tornado did measure EF5-level winds of 224 mph at ground level. But the tornado didn't impact any structures at that intensity, and the EF scale is a damage scale so it was only rated a high-end EF3 and only 6 mph under EF4. If it did happen to directly hit more structures at its highest intensity it could have very well been rated EF5, but fortunately it narrowly missed those (as you can see in the video).

You should keep this up. Everyone need's Ryan Kelly, and everyone need's Reed Timmer. People saying your lack of commentary makes you better, is incorrect. Your both of equal value to all of us, and BOTH of your work is equally comparable and fantastic. I appreciate this sort of Filming also, I just will not dig/down on anyone else for there work, while I compliment you. Like what 99% of this Comment section is doing.
Thanks again Ryan!!! Insanely great tracking, and storm chasing! Never stop chasing!

Wow! Some incredible footage..., especially the details of the whirling clouds @ 2:30..., I reside in New England so's the only twisters we get to see are in the up close footage from the Midwest. Sure, we get some small ones, only in major thunderstorms; and about every 10-15 years Mother Nature sends us a big one on order of the size you folks get. Worcester, Ma 1953, Hamden Ct 1989, Springfield, Ma 2011...,

Something about a mile wide tornado like these feel so beautifully scary on another level for me. Like its so big to where it doesnt even look a tornado anymore. Just an undefined swirling mass of dark destructive clouds

Great video! Everytime that I see a tornado that looks like this I always wonder if that is what the Tri-State tornado looked like? Also, the 1896 Saint Louis tornado.

It's crazy about tornadoes. They are terrifying and so destructive. But I also think they have a certain sublime beauty. This monster was scary but also, well, gorgeous in its way.

Outstanding videography and restraint in I’d assume a pretty high adrenaline situation. Love the lighter tornadocyclone/quasi collar cloud rotating above the darker tornado. 👍
Can I ask with what camera you’re filming?

I never realized how quiet tornadoes can be. The swish-swish sound is so creepy. Thank you for not talking so we can hear everything.

It’s rare for a tornado to form into a thick wedge this quickly. Wow.
