That looks like front line winds to me, we get those alot where I live here in MO but we do get tornadoes 3 to 5 miles away in every direction from us, we live in a sturdy terrain so they try to hit grounds but the Rocky hills and excessive trees seem to help us but we have flat terrain close by, I live like 45 min from Joplin MO
