Tornadoes of this power are rarely seen in Michigan, but aren’t without precedent. There’s the 1953 Flint F5, the 1956 Standale F5, the 1965 Walker F4, and the 1980 Kalamazoo F3 to name a few.

1997 Detroit/Hamtramck. F3 outbreak. Much of my neighborhood was destroyed. I remember it like yesterday. I was at work which was only about 15 min drive away. It took about 4 hours for me to get home having no idea if I had a home to go to or if my roommate and our pets were alive and or ok. Luckily, our flat/apt was spared and had very little damage while much of our street was gone. Cell phones and cameras weren't in everyone's hands like they are now.

My cousin's home didn't take a direct hit but the flanking winds tore the roof off. I've never been so scared in my entire life but thankfully nobody in the house was hurt.

Sirens went off, just can't hear them in the clips. My daughter lives about half mile from the FedEx warehouse, and she and her girls hid out in the bathtub. She Def heard sirens

How is the flag on the left of the house still flying as trees are being cracked over?
